Yesterday the Writers Guild of America announced the nominees for the 55th Annual Writers Guild Awards for television and radio.
Futurama writer Ken Keeler was nominated in the category "Animation - any length - one airing time" for his work on one of my all-time favourite episodes: "Godfellas".
The other nominations in this field all aired in the 2002 season on FOX:
The Simpsons - The Bart wants what it wants
The Simpsons - Blame it on Lisa
The Simpsons - Jaws Wired Shut
King of the Hill - My own private Rodeo
The winners will be announced Saturday, March 8, 2003.
This is the first time that the animation writers are nominated by their parent association (WGA) instead of their own WGA Animation Writers Caucus (AWC). Last October, Futurama writer Patric Verrone got the AWC Lifetime Achievement Award.
