The following is a translation of a short Q&A session with TV2 regarding situation of Futurama on Norwegian TV. Some questions had to be edited after the fact to preserve consistency and intended meaning.
Can't Get Enough Futurama: When will we get to see Futurama on TV2? ( - a somewhat exact answer is preferable)
TV2: According to our plans, Season 4 will start on June 16. 2003
CGEF: Which seasons do TV2 have the airing rights for, beyond the three seasons you have already aired?
TV2: Seasons 4 and 5.
CGEF: Would you consider purchasing more seasons than those you already have?
TV2: We have bought all seasons that are produced.
CGEF: Do you purchase each season based on the production seasons, or based on the "broadcasted seasons" (by which I mean the seasons as how FOX Networks have chosen to air them)? I realize this may be difficult for you to answer... Can you, as an alternative, list the number of episodes of each season you have purchased?
TV2: We have season 1 (13 ep), season 2 (16 ep), season 3(15 ep), season 4 ( 18 ep) and season 5 ( 16 ep). We air them in the chronological order in which FOX Networks have purchased the episodes. [CGEF note: the number of episodes listed indicates that this means "in the order in which FOX Network airs them."]
CGEF: There are strong indications that FOX Networks will choose not to order any further production seasons of Futurama, and that they are not airing all episodes of the last production season within this TV season [CGEF note: ends in May]. Will TV2 be able to air the last couple of episodes, or will details in the purchase contract prevent you from airing any episodes not already aired by FOX Networks?
TV2: We own the full rights to all five seasons, and we will air all the episodes.
CGEF: Are TV2 happy with the ratings Futurama has achieved so far? How well does the series compete with comparable series? Is Futurama more expensive to purchase than those other series?
TV2: We have made it a point never to comment purchase prices, but TV2 is pleased with Futurama’s ratings within the targeted audience.
CGEF: Thanks for giving us the chance to ask a few questions.
TV2: Thanks for showing so much interest.
