Review:
Leela wears a very revealing dark black swimsuit with a gold ring belt above
her belly. When I heard about the swimsuit Leela figure, I thought to myself
that they would probably just model it after the swimsuit that Leela wears in
the episode ‘A Flight To Remember’. Instead, Moore created a new swimsuit
style that hasn’t been on the television show (yet?). This move was creative,
yet kind of lost its meaning seeing as fans would have liked to see Leela in
the swimsuit from that episode. And in my opinion, this VERY revealing swimsuit
is out of character and I highly doubt Leela would ever wear something this
riskey in the television show. On the plus side, she has big boots.
You get Leela, a stand with grabbing tentacles
on a mars-like surface, two ray guns, and Nibbler with his sandbox. Leela can
hold both ray guns at the same time while Nibbler sits in his litter box next
to her.
Leela has nine joints of motion throughout her
entire body. Her hands, arms, shoulders, head, waist, thighs, legs, and knees
are fully movable and can be customized to almost any position (oy!).
 Having
all these joints can make the figure act and look very awkward, though. There
are so many joints, that it takes away from a figure that otherwise could have
looked very smooth and sleek. MAC wanted to make this figure highly movable
and enjoyable for people that like to actually play with their figures. But
sometimes simplicity is better than being able to move every part of her body,
and because there are so many joints, it even gets awkward to actually PLAY
with this figure. So it kind of balances itself off with flaws. There are so
many breaking points in Leela’s body that it becomes awkward to the beauty
this figure could have had.
 But even with these flaws, the figure still comes
out looking good displayed with anyone’s collection! Right now I have it
on my desk and enjoy having a little bit of Leela next to my computer.
- Pros:
- It's Leela in a swimsuit, what more do you want if you’re a Leela fan?
- Even though it has flaws, it doesn’t stop it from being a great figure that is a must have!
- You get Nibbler, with a litter box! Isn’t that just so cute?
- Cons:
- Too movable
- Very revealing swimsuit
- Might be hard to find because it’s a ToyFair Exclusive
