This was more of a touching episode. There wasn't one great line that made the show funny, although Fry did have his moments. Wait, scratch that, moment. When the orphanarium guy said, "Well there is one thing that I forgot about, but I wouldn't want to waste your time." Fry's response was great, "That's impossible!! Because my time is worthless!" The ending really got to the heart and was the best part, like a lot of Futurama episodes. The clip show of all the times Leela's parents helped her and she didn't know, it was sad and uplifting at the same time, very few things can acheive that. A solid episode. Clamps gives it 3 out of 5.

Good episode. The emotional parts were done well but it would have been even better if we didn't see Leela's parents at the end of act one. Then the end would be more surprising and more emotional like in "The Luck of the Fryrish". There were only a few good jokes. My favorite was seeing the guy "Often Seen in the Background of News Spots" in the background of Leela's picture. The animation was good, especially the rain. This episode seemed unusually dark, maybe because they were underground a lot. Bender's subplot was kind of funny, but not great. At least it helped the main plot progress.

Unlike some other people, I'm glad we learned Leela's origin. They couldn't keep dragging that storyline on forever. But couldn't she be something besides a mutant? She was cool as an alien. Oh well. I guess the mutant thing makes sense, she looks too human to be an alien.

Anyway, great episode. It was low on jokes but had emotion, some humor, good animation, and it wrapped up a storyline. And I agree that the look Fry had at the end of the episode was very cute.

I am a proud romantic so my favorite episodes are like this one. Futurama is a space opera and doesn't have to be funny all the time. I judge a show's worth by how much I care about the characters and I care about all the characters (except Brannigan) so when Leela is made happy by the discovery of her parents...well that's great entertainment.

First of all, Futurama isn't just comedy- it's sci-fi/drama. I agree with Erdrik.I'm a big Leela or Fry fan, or Leela/Fry fan, and this ep was interesting 2 hear about Leela's past, even though it wasn't funny. all of u who complain can shut up.

I liked the episode, wasn't necessarily the funniest episode ever (still hilarious) but it had a nice storyline very sweet.

While not especially humourous, this is one of my favourite episodes. It's the story-driven episodes like this that seperate Futurama from other cartoon humour shows. Futurama would not be Futurama with out them.

The flashback scene at the end with that song was brilliant, very well timed. Emotional, I loved it.

Five out of five.

The end became a bit unbelievable when Leela just wanted to shoot them and the parents let her, and it wasn't very funny.. Nor did I care for the emotional value this time around. Im very glad the parents joined the actual cast though, instead of being voiced by celebs (Mother Simpson, Herb Powell). Average it is

WOW. Leela's a mutant. Not enough jokes toward the end, but it's all good. The "ding" jokes were pretty funny. Now I know the the why on everybody.
