the only reason that I rate this at a 3 is because I'm confused; was this episode supposed to be before the one where Fry goes to Nibbler's planet, after,or did the writers make this episode completely disregarding the story line just to fill a slot in the series

I enjoyed this episode basiclly because of the giant brains. They are cool!
But, let me just say that I saw an episode of Fairly Odd-Parents and it has a bit of the same principale: "characters jumping from one book to another".
But, I guess it was differant enough.

Someone mentioned this show spoofed "The matrix". While this may be somewhat true, if anything this ep spoofed TV series "Babylon 5". The grey council, telepats, vorlons and z'ha'dum are all mentioned or shown in one way or another.

Maybe that's why some people do not like it as much as other episodes. If you know the B5 story, this episode is a lot better and makes more "sense"!

some hilarious parts, some not so. Very funny when the nibblonians gave leela the note (wink) so that fry would notice it

This was one of the best episodes in the whole series. At least for me. Those space mission type episodes where they go into outer space are really good. This one had something to it that just said "This is awesome!!".

A solid episode, although the Nibbler part seemed far-fetched.

"That no white whale. It grey thinking-whale". Classic Futurama! The whole trapped-in-books part was amazing.

Also, one humorous ending.
