Yet another reason why Futurama is more mature than The Simpsons, and why continuity and meaningful episodes rock.

I'm astonished. Really. I never expected to see such an astoundingly downbeat ending to an episode of Futurama. This isn't a bad thing. Quite the contrary, this was the hardest hitting ending of a TV show I've seen in a long, long time. Made my wife cry. (We both love dogs)

Just after Fry said that Seymoure had forgotten about him a long time ago, my wife kept repeating, "No he didn't! No he didn't!" Then they switched over to the final flashback sequence. Clearly whomever wrote this one was a dog lover.

Bravo.

this show is not about a guy and his dog.. but loosing what matters most to you and not getting it back.. (althought most of the fans hope another episode will change it (think of what they did with this episode, and believe me when i tell you they will be able to write another GREAT episode without any problems))...

i've experienced the same kind of loss (with someone i used to chat with).. no contact for 4 years now, and i still once in a while search the net for any signs of the person... and i'll keep looking until i close my eyes for the last time..

I love Futurama from the first episode, some are very good some are poor, but this one beat them all, I thought that The Luck of the fryish was the sadest, until now, this one with the dog waiting for Fry... it was too much and could not hold some tears...

I watched it on tape late at night and the ending won't let me go to sleep. To see that dog... I can't take it.
Again a proof how well the show is done, don't cancel it!!!

Amazing episode. Love the jokes made by the professor as well, esp. the part where he used his credence as a professor to show that lava is hot. But the best part of all, must be the sincerity in its melancholy, Stupendous!
