Oh my God, clearly a large percentage of you are all mad! How could you not find this episode funny? Ok so the story line is predictable, but it's supposed to be. It's just a frame to hang the jokes from. Bender as commander in chief of the whole world/ (universe as in "Godfellas") is inspirational to a athiest like my good self. It's a cheery parody of the human condition. Which is always nice.
Didn't you even laugh when they managed to unleash an ethanol fueled holocaust on the entire planet??
Really people, I think you expect too much.

I honestly cannot agree with the majority of people here on this episode. I think it was GREAT! One of my favorite episodes ever. Definetely the BENDER episode of the millenium showcasing everything Bender. "I think I'm gonna like it here..."

I thought it was pretty funny actually. I'm actually a religious person, once planned on being a monk, but still the jokes on religion didn't phase me much. That and the way they said "Free us from thought and responsibility" was somehow funny. Kind of hard to get to upset about the mocking of a fictitious SF religion.

Bender enslaving Fry & Leela was maybe the only thing that struck me a little odd. I think I figured he'd free them or in least give them cushier jobs. However him talking tough is pretty standard "Let my reign of cruelty wash over this lazy land" fits him.

I'll give it a three though as I think I gave an ep I like better a 4.
