1ACV12 - When Aliens Attack

Proudly made on

Written by Ken Keeler

Directed by Brian Sheesley

Billy West: Fry, Farnsworth, Zoidberg, Zapp, the proffessional beach bully, president McNeal

Katey Sagal: Leela

John DiMaggio: Bender, FOX technician, the judge in Single Female Lawyer

Maurice LaMarche: Kif, Lrrr

Phil LaMarr Hermes, Fox voice over

Lauren Tom: Amy

Tress MacNeille: Linda, Jenny McNeal, female alien

Frank Welker: Nibbler

Length: 21:20

Earth Daffy Duck appears in the opening cartoon.

Single Female lawyer is a take off of FOX s Ally McBeal

The FOX technician and Fry must have wolfed down their slices of pizza because when Fry spills the beer there are two pieces gone.

They are drinking LoBrau beer which still exists in 3000.

When we fly to Omicron Persei 8 you can briefly see the voyager probe.

There was a mouse hole on the wall where the aliens were watching TV.

The programme cuts out at a much different place on Omicron Persei 8 than on earth.

The male alien does not wear any clothes.

In the car driving to the beach Bender is sitting on Amy’s knee.

The beach invasion is reminscent of the film Indepdence Day.

Among the ships that fly to the Nimbus are a Slurm van and the Magic School bus. The slurm van was later destroyed. The first battle scene is a deliberate take off of the final battle in Star Wars: A New Hope.

A tire is flung from the exploding Huble Telescope.

The episode is transmitted to the mother ship using the same kind of TV aerial we use today.

The female alien says that women are from Omicron Persei 7, men are from Omicron Persei 9 which is a reference to that famous book: Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus.

Lrrr s wife is drinking from a water fountain in the background after the episode.

The No. 9 man makes another appearance in the street after the aliens have left.

The moment the Alien's version of Single Female Lawyer cuts out is different to the version Fry sees on earth

Hermes' jacket and shirt literally fall off. But Hermes has buttons on his shirt so what happened to them?

You can't get higher resolution than the real world so HDTV is impossible

Particularly for Mount Rushmoor, how were all the monuments transported to the beach?

Bender gets Zoidberg out of the cage by bending the bars, but the bars are made of wood so should snap - they didn't

Why was the Huble Telescope shooting at them?

How did all the goings on when Zapp delivered McNeal to the aliens get recorded?

How can they find out about things like the last episode of Single Female Lawyer but not about things like the moon landing?

Where is the loft at planet express?

How on earth did they build the sets so quickly?
