#103 by Chris R Simply the best episode to date, even surpassing "Parasites Lost". Great blend of comedy and drama, something almost impossible to do in a cartoon. Most Fry-Leela storylines revolved around Fry's feelings and inability to act on them, but this episode dealt with Leela and her love for Fry. God, I hate FOX for killing off this show! #109 by JPH pvq This episode demonstrates what I have believed for some time now: Futurama is both able and willing to achieve a level of sophistication both in terms of plot, humor and character development that the Simpons abandoned long ago (and most of television wouldn't even hint at). Consider Leela's character arc since the series' inception, to say nothing of Fry's. Both have learned slowly to overcome their own insecurities and find a mutual love based on genuine affection. The fact that Leela is an impressive individual in terms of physical ability and conviction hasn't prevented her from feeling like a nobody. Fry similarly feels like a loser even though he's done amazingly brave things, including saving the planet from giant brains. Now here they are, finally finding solace in one another ... and I wouldn't feel like such a geek for writing all this if I didn't think it was actually high drama disguised as an effective sci-fi spoof.
