This was amazing. I adored every second of it, and the ending was so surprising. I was almost crying at some moments during the episode, and when Fry was crying at the hospital was so sweet. Favorite episode ever.

I can't understand how people did not enjoy this episode. It is by far the best in my opinion. So touching and emotional with plenty of the Futurama brand humour. FIVE (purposefully capped) out of five.

I can see why some people wouldn't like it, but the all the negative comments I've read are for the wrong reasons. How can you not find it funny if you've seen even a handful of the episodes this one references? Do you hate watching genuine emotion in mostly-comedy series? Watch Family Guy for smart, referential humor or The Simpsons for lower brow comedy, because you're obviously not aware of why Futurama is different. "The Sting" is one of my favorites, up there with "The Luck of the Fryrish," "Parasites Lost," and "The Devil's Hands Are Idle Playthings," but it's also the one that brought me closest to tears. Yes, the ending device has been used (and those who think it's stolen from something specific probably don't watch enough TV or movies to realize it's extremely widely used) but it's rarely done this well. I was too caught up in the voice acting to try to figure out how it would end, and while it didn't completely catch me by surprise, I loved the way it ended.

One of the sweetest episodes in the canon. I liked that is had a real emotional punch, but you didn't feel like the rug has been pulled from under your feet. One of the show's best, certainly in my top five.

Among the very finest the series has to offer, maybe not in terms of humor , but in terms of plot, narrative structure, and its use of the main characters. Poignant and heartfelt, this is why Futurama is a better overall show than Family Guy.

Easily one of the best episodes of Futurama. Smart writing and shameless emotion-tugging. This is what seperates this cartoon from all the others, the emotional attachment, so that you feel as though you're laughing with them instead of at them. Superb.
