I love this episode, it gave us a perfect introduction to the Zapp/Kif duo in a hilarious way. I'm not sure if this is still my favourate Zapp/Kif episode, Amazon Women in the Mood ranks pretty much along side this episode in true greatness.

I'm sorry, but this wasn't really a good episode.
I mean it was great, but compared to other futurama episodes it was.....bad!
Too much story and not enough funny parts.
Good part:
"The female Leela's problem is purely medical. Soon she will lay her eggs and they will hatch and all will be well"

Why, oh why, did Phil Hartman have to go and get himself shot? That man was made to be the voice of Zapp Branigan! But it's a testament to Billy West's vocal ability that he manages to truly make Zapp his own man. Some nice dramatic camera angles during the crumbling of the planet, and a fun wry take on environmentalism, extinction, and the balance of nature :)

An absloute classic where we see the smooooth zapp branigann introduced. Some absolutely classic lines -"you know Zapp, when I first met you I thought you were a pompus baffoon, the I looked inside and saw you were just a little child. Then i looked again and saw you were a pompus baffoon!" says Leela. "And which one rocked your world?" replies Zapp. And the "sweet, sweet candyyyyyyyyy" bit too

Zapp, Kif, and Nibbler were wonderfully introduced in this episode. All the parts with Kif (and his sigh) were great. There were tons of funny moments. The plot was good. The animation didn't seem particularly great, but that's not a major problem.

I loved everything in this episode from the guys meeting Zapp and him telling us about how he finally defeated all the Kill Bots and Leela's Hotness is finally exposed and I love it. The best part of the whole thing is when they pick up young nibbler's shite and Bender's arm just drops straight to the floor and he drags it to the engine room FUNNY STUFF RIGHT HEA'

Not the funniest of episodes, but pretty good. Kif and Zapp are hilarious. they work because of each other: Kif is the Smithers to Zapp's Mr. Burns. The velour jokes got kind of old and they used the champagne joke one time too many. Bender capturing the snake was great. Leela in her underwear at the end seemed a bit unnecessary, but what are you going to do?

what is wrong with you people?!?! you've given this a cumulative rating of 89%, which makes it the 18th best Futurama episode. come on! this is easily one of the top 5 episodes. it is worthy of five stars for the part where Zapp says "... sweet, sweet candy.... BAM!" and point to his hip region, alone. great stuff.

I myself own all of the Futurama episodes and this episode manages to deliver witty, mad and stupid jokes and even without the help of Zoidberg. This episode has Zapp Brannigan as a main character. That should be all that needs to be said. Zapp is right up there with Fry, Bender, the Professor, Dr. Zoidberg...hell, now that I think about it, all of Futurama's characters are great. This episode gets three stars for Zapp's diary entries alone, and I'm giving it five stars because the rest of the episode was great, as well.

One of the most memorable scenes in Futurama IMHO with Zapp and Leela. The scene afterwards in the ship is priceless. The gags were great, and Kif, actually being one of my favourite characters is fun to watch as he constantly gets frustrated with Zapp especially on the ladder. I also enjoyed the bit where Fry looks to be confused over which mammal is Leela. And only Bender would react in the way he did, to 2 of each kind of animal being taken.
Falls short of my top 3 though, I think Zapp is just a little too in one's face here but a fabulous debut for him on the show.

My favorite part is probably Fry and Bender discussing Leela's romantic prospects, and offering Leela a fork as an eye poker; watching the trio interact amongst themselves always puts a smile on my face.

This couldn't have been a more perfect episode. Zapp Branigan is a hilarious character, and his beginning is even better. It also introduced Kif, my favorite character, and Nibbler, who was incredibly important in later seasons. This episode worked incredibly well, and it's one of the many Leela-Zapp episodes I've liked. In fact, the only one I didn't like was Brannigan Begin Again.
