I can't fully express how much I love it when an entire episode of Futurama satirizes a classic film or show. The spoofing of "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" in this episode both amazed me and had me in stitches. One of the best episodes in the series thus far.

You can't beat this episode, it's classic on SO many levels. Even though it's been a while since I've seen it I remember so many funny parts. Fry's addiction to slurm, the oompa loompa spoofs and Bender getting so pissed at their constant rhyming, the party Slurm guy with his party women, and the bloodshot eyes:). It helps that I love the Willy Wonka movie with Gene Wilder which this episode mercifully spoofs, making it even funnier to me. Easily in the top 5 episodes I've seen.

This episode was good, but not as terrific as everyone says. It still deserves a 5, though. There were plenty of funny moments and a little bit of suspense when they were trying to find out what the secret ingredient was. As for the spoofing of "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory", it was a good spoof, but not great.

This is a great episode! One of my favorites, you could watch it over and over and never get tired of it. Great jokes and I love the take-off of Willy Wonka. From Bender having a fever from Amy's watch clogging his gears and Bender and Fry looking for the bottle cap with the F-ray to Slurms McKenzie partying to his death to save the gang from the giant queen worm, it's hilarious. Add the Grunka lunkas and Fry's addiction to Slurm and you have one of the best Futurama episodes ever. Must see.

I loved the movie of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory but the musical numbers every five minutes did get pretty damn tedious- just the fact that Bender tells the Grunka-Lunkas pretty much exactly what I always think when I see them in the movie. "Shut the hell up!" makes this worth watching, but this ep's songs are so much funnier than the movies only cements its place as my favorite Futurama of all time.

Great episode. I think Futurama did a much better job than Family Guy at doing the whole Willy Wonka parody thing(the Pawtucket Patriot brewery was one of the few I didn't like from that show). The greatest gags in this one were before the commercial breaks. Fry choking on the bottle cap, and then when he kept drinking the Slurm anyway. Oh man, great stuff. By the way, I'd also like to add that I wish they really did have shirts that say "Drink Slurm" with that logo. It's a great logo, and I'd wear the shirt all the time.

Absulutely hilarious. I loved the sort of jokingly touching bits with Slurms McKenzie partying his last party to save the day. The professor's line about the Grunka Lunkas cracks me up severely every time. Even my sister laughs at that, and she hates Futurama. A brill episode, funny but still with a good plot. Interesting and doesn't pass to quickly. Hilarious Grunka Lunkas, singing and working although when not being watched smoking and knitting. Really taking the mick out of Roald Dahl and his chocolate factory!

This is a halarious spoof on "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory." My favorite part in it is when Fry falls into the slurm. The only weakness of this is that I think that fry should have been the only one to fall into the river and Lyla and Bender should have been picked off diferent ways. I also think fry should have been sucked up a pipe instead of sucked "down" a large pipe.

Okay, how does THIS episode have a 93% rating? Unless you just cant get enough of already abundant "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" spoofs, and think there's few things more hilarious than worm excrement, what really is the appeal of this episode? I mean, it's better than "According to Jim" (what isn't), but not by as much as I expect from Futurama!

I saw the TV premire of The Burton/Depp version, so I had to watch this! The funniest bits were the Grunka Lunka's bad and obvious rhyming ("SHUT THE HELL UP!!") and Fry contiuing to alternatively drink and spit out after seeing the giant slum queen.

This was the first episode of Futurama I ever saw, on its original air date. I thought it was bloody hilarious then and it is bloody hilarious now. Definitely one of the best episodes of the series, the homage to Willy Wonka is perfect and the ending is fantastically ridiculous and humorous. Few better episodes of Futurama.

- Overall look and animation is just plain ugly, and the Slurms McKenzie character is one of the worst original creations on the show.

Not a favorite of mine. It has its moments (though most of them come in the third act, for me: Leela slapping the Slurm can from Fry's hand without even looking at him, Bender asking Leela if they're boned and her matter-of-fact confirmation, Fry attempting to gnaw his own arms off to drink Slurm through the sewer grate), but overall it doesn't do much for me. It's not bad by any means, but the show has a lot more to offer.

Honestly, I don't know hy this one is such a favorite. It really sucks. I didn't laugh once. And the final revelation of the "secret ingredient" isn't really that disgusting (but that may just be because I found out what it was before I saw the episode then. Then again, it didn't disgust me then either).
