I waited 1 damned week to see another NEW!!!! Futurama Episode!

Funny in a awkward way, this episode takes all the right pieces, but doesn't hold them strongly enough. The robot rebellion could be better - but
those "Quest for Fire" snippets were absolutely brilliant. It's actually one of my favourite movies, so I was absolutely thrilled to hear stuff like: "What if our fire goes out?" -- "We'll go into the store across the street and steal their fire!!", especially given the context: a purely technological society overrun by its own machinery. Imagine an episode of Futurama merely based on this concept?? As it is, though, the episode is cute and tight, but not particularly inspired -- and, man, I hate naked old people.;)

Note: I was actually going to rate the ep with a 3, but too many people bogged down the general rating with their complaints - this is JUST about the episodes, not anything else, people!

This episode had some things going for it, such as the Communist greeting card. But it simply reinforced the fact that I don't care for Mom.

I'm a little biased, considering there are probably only 3-4 episodes I would rate below a 3 (thats what makes a show one's favorite...) but, cmon!!

This episode was hillarious! How easy do you negative nancies think it is to write a decent plot that takes 22 minutes AT THE MOST to develop form start to finish AND remain as funny as it is?

Anything this episode was lacking was redeemed by the interaction between Farnsworth and Mom:
- "Go to hell...you old bat!"
- "Filthy toothless nerd bastard!"
- "Damn'ed she-fossil!"
- "STINK PIG!!!"

Destructor telling Mom that his card orginated from the heart, the rebelling coffee machine, Herme's comment about composing Smooth Jazz, the Professor opening his shirt to reveal a gold chain: it's all brilliance.

I gave it a 5 because it deserves a higher rating than it has gotten here. This is a really good episode, above average in my opinion. Gives us the background on Farnsworth and Mom, as well as robots in general, I love seeing rampaging robots, really funny episode, the coffee machine was great, "Defend the fire!" is great, "Oh, I don't know" as an answer to why Mom is making civilization collapse is great, there are a lot of really great moments here. It deserves better than 62%.

Mom is generally anoying, but this episode ends up being good mainly due to Farnsworth. All the main characters (except maybe Hermes) are so great, they can usually propel any episode to awesomeness just by being themselves.

I can't understand why it's been rated so low. It wasn't the best episode, but I don't think it's anywhere near as bad as some people are making it out to be. The bit with the TV coming to laugh and trying to attack Fry and Leela had me laughing so hard I couldn't breathe. The coffee machine and the toaster were funny too, but it was the TV that got me, especially as the newsreader has just mentioned "media violence" lol! The machines rebelling against humans idea is a classic sci/fi chestnut that gets me every time. I thought those parts of the episode were brill.
I don't care much for mom either which is why I haven't given this episode a 5, but the other parts were so funny I;ve given it a 4.

I don't know why everyone is so grossed out about seeing the professor have sex? Whats so awful about that? Everyone has sex! It's no reason to hate the episode! Well that's my opinion, each to their own. I thought it was good.

Compare to other futurama episodes this was lack luster at best. most of the jokes revolve around the relationship between mom and farnsworth, and to many jokes about old people and 'mom' getting laid just aren't funny.

the only real redeming quailty to this episodes are the quest for fire scenes and every secene with the gretting card and bender delivering short pseudo political quips. the card was so funny it almost deserved it's own episode but that would have stretched it a bit then. as is the greeting card single handily gives this episode a 3/5.

This is my funniest episode of all time!!!

I like all the bits when Professor Farnsworth and Mom are naked and in bed together. I really like watching Walt, Larry and Ignar on all of the episodes because they are my favourite characters on the TV show.

Here is some of my funniest episode highlights:

1. When Larry whispers bra twice and the last one when he gets slapped by Walt. The slapping sound is hilarious.
2. When Mom says "Cram it Ape!"
3. When Walt says "Hell Hath no fury like the vast robot armies of a woman scorned!"
4. When Bender says "Who is he, I'll kill him!" and when he says "jerk" later on.
5. When Walt says to Larry and Ignar "Someday, I would like to marry a girl like her."
6. Ignar wearing a bra and saying about the professor touching Mom.
7. When Larry said "Gee, Ma, you're not a bitter--!"
8. When the robots say "B*****d!"
9. When the Professor burps and spits.

All of these make me laugh everytime when I watch it!!

I didn't like seeing when Mom, her sons and the Planet Express crew were screaming at the robots.
