Bender is 500 feet tall, Leela goes on a murder spree, and Fry never gets frozen in three what-if scenarios.

This was perhaps the best episode EVER. A great plot, and lots of funny jokes. I especially like the impulsive Leela, the 500ft Bender and Al Gore. And because it's just the what-if-machine that makes it happen, it won't affect later episodes. All sorts of crazy stuff can happen, just like the Treehouse of horror episodes in the Simpsons. I really hope there will be more AOI episodes, perhaps even one in every season.

I really like this episode. I love it when Bender was big, Leela was so cool being impulse. Fry's one was ok but not as good as Leela and Bender's story.

This is most definitely one of my top 3 favourites I must say. The Leela on a killing spree is just great (epsecially the case solving scene with Dr Zoidberg ``Scruffy knows who killed 'em people��). The tall Bender one was pretty nice, too though I wonder if they will show him and Zoidberg destroy New New York. The one with Fry not getting frozen was a logical thing to do for the writers and gave us the famous "what's nibbler not ding there" riddle.

Teral's waaaaaay to long (sort of) review of "Anthology of Interest I"
I liked this very much, easily in top-10 (of the episodes so far). I hope this is gonna be a recurring thing just like THOH on Simpsons. The wacky stories was just hillarious to watch. And the little twist at the end, with the professor LOL.
My personal fave of the stories was "What if Leela was more impulsive, just a little, not too much ?"
Leela just looks so cute throughout this story. Great idea with her going on a killing spree. Starting with just one impulsive act, and then it snowballs on her. Loved the way she took care of Bender, when the timer "pings" he's done, LOL. Good way to hide the corpse too. And she finally got an opportunity to get back at Amy after another wisecrack from her. "Wow, sporty gocart Leela. So hip and sexy, not like you at all." Okay this time time she was asking for it. The scene where she wacks Cubert, Scruffy and Nibler was pure genius, but Leela doesn't wear socks? Eeewww. The last scene must be a alltime fave for all the Fry/Leela fanatics out there. Zoidberg was the only other to have a major part in this, and he was pure fun. True Zoidy behaviour. Loved it.
Second best, "What if Bender was 500 feet tall ?"
Good idea. Slow start, although it was deeply satisfying to see Hanson get squashed (and yes that disturbs me too ;)). But once Zoidy comes into the story, it catapults into the highest layer of comedy. Especially Zoidy's personal vendetta against, among others Chase Manhattan and the Apollo Theater, was fun. Great fightscene, and good weapons. Boiling Zoidy, great twist. But in the end Zoidy saves the day, "Hurray for Zoidberg".
Third best, "What if Fry never fell into the freezer-doodle and came to the future-jiggy ?"
Also a good idea. But the funniness first started when Prof. Hawking came into it. The whole idea with the Vice-Presidential Action Rangers was also a struck of genius, and a weird ensemble. Hawking hawking all ideas was just hillarious: "I call it a Hawking-hole", "I call it a Hawking-chamber" etc. Great qoutes in this one too. And the ending, oh I loved that, espicially Nichole's remarks about the Pasadena Star Trek Convention.
Short comments: I like Leela's new boots, that stripe IS crazy. Hawking has a very good sense of humour. Zoidy's lines in the Leela-story was brilliant. Oh, and Leela was just sooo cute in her story, wait-a-minute....I've already said that, d'oh.
Me like, very much. More of this. Good stories, zany action, good twists, it had it all. I'll definately call this a 5, easily. Let's hope they can keep it up in (hopefully) future AOI's.

Superb, Bender 500 feet tall was best, Cubert made a cameo in Leelas part and the Fry part was ok but not as good. Overall an excellent episode with a clever ending, will todays AOI 2 be as good? Only time will tell.

So far, this has to be my favorite episode of the series. In particular the third part, "What if Fry never fell into the freezer-madoodle and came to the future-majiggy?"
From the moment Stephen Hawking appears, the episode is pure genius. All of the guest stars, Al Gore in particular (Who knew he had a sense of humour?) got some great time to shine. Al's telling Deep Blue that there are other ways to solve conflicts was in many ways the best line of the series. And Hawking running over Fry with his chair was probably the single best visual.
I note that not everybody liked this episode so much. Guess you have to be interested in politics, Star Trek, Physics, Role Playing and Chess to get all of the jokes.

A very very good episode. Especially I like Leela`s part. And other two parts are quite good too.
May be it is wrong. But my memory tells me that Bender`s part is a parody on one of the Hollywood`s films about aliens. The final scene of dying giant-Bender seems very familiar to me.

Kodos, 'Futurama', you've done it again. This was a brilliant episode, a very neat spin on the familiar format of the Simpsons Treehouse of Horror series. The best story was by far the last - those cameos by Al Gore and Stephen Hawking were outstanding. Hawking in particular had me cracking up. And Fry's old 20th century boss nailed a classic line about the existence of monsters.
The stories told for Bender and Leela were both great too, in their own right. I actually found it quite sad when giant Bender died and Fry uttered "Goodnight, sweet friend."
This first anthology of interest has certainly set a high standard for any that might follow.

I love this episode and I love the other episodes too, but this episode is best. It's fun to see my favourite characters in specially scenes. My favourite act is when Fry never come to the future. "Anthology of Interest II" is also a good episode. In my small homeland Sweden we say "tre �r b�ttre �n ett" (In english it means "three is better than one").
I can't wait for "Anthology of Interest III".

Finally a site where I can heap deserving on one of the greatest pieces of animation Ive ever seen.'Impulsive Leela'had to be Futuramas finest hour(or few minutes anyway.)Zoidberg rocks and his mail-order degrees in both murderonomy and murderology crack me up no matter how often I watch this episode."It is my deduction that the crime is unsolvable!".BEST EPISODE EVER!!!!

Simply fantastic! Just as Teral said: One of the ... Hell, THE best ... idea was to involve Stephen Hawking! ("I call it a Hawking hole", "I call it a Hawking chamber"). Another good auote came from Fry's boss, Mister Panucci: "There's only three rwal Monsters, kid. Dracula, Blackula and Son-a-Kong! Now quit picking in the nose...")

I don't like this, i don't understand the people for this film the rating is 91% but for the Harald Zoid series only 53%. And this series is not a half as good as Zoid series.

In one point, ax is right. The episode about Harold (It's Harold, not Harald) deserved better ratings: The plot was way above average and the jokes are hard to top. (Just think of Bender aka. Boiler bugging Calculon. And the whole "I'm writing it in my own ink"ish thing).
On the other hand, I DO understand, why AOI has such a good rating. Not just because it's different from the rest of the series in a refreshing way, but it also came along with tons of fun.
And of course I wanted to add this:

Not much to say, a good episode, but I was really sore about Fry's storie. Ok, it had some good parts, but I not interested in politics, Star Trek, Physics, Role Playing and Chess, and I didn't get IT.
Leela's part was pretty cool. A lot of good jokes and hot killing. Made me lough very hard.

Interesting concept, but this episode wasn't extremely funny. It had some good moments, but it wasn't great. The first story with Bender was good, but Fry acted too pathetic. The second story with Leela was sort of anticlimactic and corny but funny. The third story was the best.
That What-If machine got the characters' personalities all wrong and was sort of funny because of that. The ending where we find out that all the What-If stories were just part of a bigger What-If story was a nice twist. It also explains why the crew didn't have a lot of reaction to the stories. Like I said before, interesting concept, but I hope it doesn't get used every year because Futurama is better than this.

the bender story was quite stupid without the part without zoidberg. the story with leela was very good. the part with the boots was nice. and we first saw scruffy the janitor. the third story was the best and al gore was very good in his "base" a.k.a school bus

Great fresh episode. It kinda reminds me of the Simpons Treehouse of Horror (The only difference is that TOH gets worse every year.)
The Bender sequence is funny and is tragic but like Bender says "Tragedy now that's funny".
Leela's story is murder :P. Its awesome to see her kill everyone and have sex with Fry.
Fry's story was funny and brought Al Gore and Stephen Hawkings and the other nerds was great. Hopefully if Futurama isn't cancelled then they make AOI III.

It was so funny here's how I like the acts the way they appear.
Bender's: I laughed my head off the whole playing around scene when the army came in was so funny(Zapp cameo) but if Bender killed Hanson he ain't all bad. The fight scene with Zoidburg was hilarious with Bender that stadium & try to boil him but Zoidburg fought back chomping Bender's legs with his claws hahahahahahahahahahaha.
Leela's:This one make's murdering funny. First Farnsworth in the lab, how body was disposed: carnivorus ant eaters. Next Hermes in the main area, how body was disposed: garbage disposal you can see Leela holding what's left of his arm in the sink. After that Bender in the kitchen, how body was disposed: rebuilt as a cart(Beep Beep). Then Amy in the main area (again), how body was dispose: inside a grandfather's clock. Second to last Scruffy , Cubert, & Nibbler in the area where Zoidburg was trying to expose the murderer, how the bodies was diposed: they weren't they were just left there on the couch all with knives stabbed in to them. Finaly Zoidburg in the area where he was trying to expose the murderer, how the body was disposed: Leela ate him. I was so hilarous ending.
Fry's: The one that defies the time space continium. The it so funny how Fry meerly bumped his head on the freezer thing was funny but it become wierd when after telling Stephen Hawking he's get kidnapped by Hawking, Al Gore, Gary Gygax(creator of Dungeons & Dragons), & Nichele Nicolas(Uhora) was funny, what really cracked me up when the Action Rangers headquaters was a school bus, then the ending where Gary gives Fry a mace to protect him from Bender but then Fry smashes the cryogenic freezer then the universe blew up only leaving the 5 of them to play dungeons & dragons for eturnity.

I don't like it as much as Anthology of Interest 2. What we had here was a series of progressively better stories. Bender's was, I thought, a little boring. But who doesn't love the Zoidberg battle? Leela's was funnier, but in a cheap way. The whole episode played out like how The Simpson's Treehouse of Horrors have gone in past years, people totally unbothered by the death of many close ones. Cheap. But the ending was excellent And the final story, though rushed, was the best of the lot. My primitive brain cannot comprehend the Fry Hole concept, but Stephen Hawking was darn funny.
Bender: Ooh, ooh- I wanna ask it a question. As a robot living among humans, I've never really felt accepted at parties or nude beaches. So, I've always secretly wondered: What if I was 500ft tall?

This is an unique take on the Simpsons' "TREEHOUSE OF HORROR" tales. BEst part is, it didn't have to be Halloween. They should have made more of these.
Here's my three-part reviews:
Bender's story: 2nd best. Simple Idea, but good Godzilla-style fighting with lots of good punchlines. The HENSEN joke was the best part. Bender's "Killing all humans" speech was the second best.
Leela's story: BEST!!! Man, this was hilarious! Only Leela could make murder this funny! Well, Bender could too,...maybe. The best deaths come from Hermes and Bender.

It was good, not great. The first story was great, though. I loved it mostly because they killed Hanson. Zoidberg vs. Bender? Great fight. Leela's story about her being more impulsive wasn't cool, I thought it was too violent. The third one was ok, but in general this one doesn't compare to the second Anthology.

Overall, the second Anthology of Interest is better, as this one was pretty uneven. However, there were three or so incredibly funny laugh out loud moments that made the episode definitely worth watching.
Hawking running over Fry was hysterical, as well as Leela killing everybody.
I also loved Al Gore. (Paraphrasing from memory...)
"I thought the vice president casts the tie-breaking vote in the Senate..."

Wonderful episode. As many have said, Bender and Leela's tales were awesome. I liked Fry's as well, it helped me understand a little more about the series (I haven't seen the very first episode).
I loved how Fry hugs a very small fraction of Bender's foot. Heheh. And Zoidberg! "Friends, help! A guinea pig tricked me!"

I think this has to hands down be one of the funniest 'Futurama' episodes ever! My favorite story is the 500 ft. Bender because it was so goofy and funny (especially the part with the Guinea pig). And I liked the fact that Kif and Zapp got squished. LOL! My second favorite story was the Fry story because of the appearances of all those geust stars. Favorite part with Al Gore saying how the universe will be destroyed and as an environmentalist he's against that. Lastly, my least favorite (but enjoyed quite a bit) was the Leela story. The ending was wrong, but reeeeeeeally funny. Overall, if you're a Futurama fan, you can't miss AOI1.

I loved this episode, especially the bits where Bender is 500ft tall and Leela goes on a killing spree. The humour carries on all the way through and when Zoidberg starts destroying the buildings that rejected his credit card application or whatever...hilarious. He's good as a detective to ('I have come to a verdict... this case is unsolvable!') All in all, brilliant episode. I only bought the series 2 boxset a week ago and I've already watched it 4 times.

I found this a farely good episode but my rating would be alot better if leelas was a little diifferent if it wasnt so whats the word RETARTED i hated it but frys was ok it kind was boring but the end was funny how fry destroys the univers and i love benders well because its bender ans hes a 100 feet tall and i love zoidburg his lines and benders lines when thier fighting inspiring well onece again bender raises up why rating

Bender got the show off to an amazing start in a spoof of G-dzilla. "Bite my collosal metal ass" is the best catchline ever. Leela's segment was good also. But Fry just plain sucks. But it had a great inside joke at the end.

I really liked the first two tales of interest (the one with Bender and Leela) but the one with Fry wasn't really that good. I found it kind of boring. The Past isn't as great as the future.=D

This is my all-time favorite episode! I really love Leela's question(especially the ending of it where instead of killing Fry, she sleeps with him). That bit was an exellent combo of LOL and WTF! By far the best episode of the first 2 production seasons, simply because it's by far the funniest and Futurama was still, at this point, yet to reach emotional depths it would later achieve. 3 interesting stories and each one is hilarious.

The first segment is kind of lame, but the second segment is hilarious and the third segment has some sci fi goodness and awesome guest stars. I think the second Anthology of Interest episode is a bit stronger, but this one is certainly enjoyable.
