Fry and Bender are wrongly arrested for a bank robbery and sentenced to an insane asylum. Fry becomes delusional and thinks he's a robot.

One of the funnier eps of the third season. Roberto was inspired and tghe whole mental institution part was great. Classic line: "Do you have a better hostage?" or something in the vicinity. :)

I dunno why so many people disliked this episode. It was the highlight of the 3rd season for me! The story was great and it had some funny gags, like the Mad Hatter telling everyone to change places, Malfunctioning Eddy, the hold-up at the bank, Fry thinking he's a "food-mo-tron" and then a battle droid. Some funny stuff!

Very good, we are introduced to one of Benders old friends called Roberto who is totally insane. Roberto is a cool character but is probably the most crazy cartoon character I've ever seen, for example he robs the same bank three times! His voice is really cool and adds plenty of charater, I have a feeling this is not the last time we will see him, which is nice.
The plot had a good pace and there were some brilliant jokes like fry pissing in the plant pot and plenty of great jokes with Fry in the insane asylum.

probably my favirote episode,i liked the malfunctioning eddy bit best,and roberto was really insane.roberto was funny when he was practising his stabbing on fry,altogether though,it was a great and funny episode.

Great episode! The scenes with all the robots changing places at the table and Roberto practicing his knife stabbing technique in Fry's cell were particularly funny! Not to mention, Fry and Bender's lawyer which appeared to be a giant chicken of some sort. Very nice!

I think the courtroom scene was one of my favourite Futurama scenes.
The Judge and the Chiken Laywer were brilliant and i hope i can find other episodes with them in.
Roberto was also brilliant, Bender was right when he called him a lunitic.

By far my favourite Futurama episode, Roberto is slightly better than Geese, meaning that from now on instead of whispering "I stain ma hans wid yu brud" into the ears of my enemies I shall merely scream the wonderful = "I gotta practice ma stabbin'".

This was without a doubt one of the weakest episodes of the series - certainly of the 3rd season. The plot was unconvincing, the characters we're introduced to not funny at all and about the only scene with any redeeming quality is the courtroom scene particularly Fry's lawyer. Oh well thank goodness there are lots of other episodes...

Great episode. There were so many funny parts, such as: Malfuctioning Eddy exploding, Roberto practicing stabbing, everything Roberto said and did. I hope Roberto's in a lot more episodes.

A solid episode somewhat derailed by Roberto, who wasn't so much funny as he was seriously annoying. Hermes was great in this one, including my favorite line, "Don't be a hero, Fry! It's not covered by the medical plan!" The scenes with Fry in the asylum were very funny, making this episode worth seeing.

I've only watched futurama twice over the past several years, and have always considered the show only o.k. I just saw Insane last night and about five seconds ago became hooked!

This was a good episode. Maybe the second best in season 3. I liked how it focused on the robot side of the Futurama world. This episode had some funny lines, most of them coming from either Roberto or Bender. I liked how Fry kept saying "Beep" always good for a laugh!

I guess this episode varies from person to person. I personally thought it was hilarious. Especially since I had seen "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" for the first time the night before I watched this. The guy's teeth Bender adjusted to get in the hosre race reminded me of the baseball game scene in "Cuckoo's Nest." Actually, quite a bit of the mental hospital humor had me doubled over, especially the part with Frankie. Judge Whitey is also a very funny character in my personal opinion, very reminiscent of Ted Knight's role in "Caddyshack" (Judge Smales). I loved this episode, and the end with Roberto slamming into the pavement and the cops agreeing to meet his demands was a great way to end it.

I really loved this episode! It's one of my favorites. Some people didn't like it. However, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I love the lines in this one. The first time I saw it, the blood on Fry's arm kind of grossed me out. I really like judge Whitey. His voice is so cool. All the robots in the insaine place were really funny. I think the hair robot is freaky though. "I'm a pretty girl. I'm a pretty girl. I'm a pretty girl." I laughed so hard when I heard that! I felt bad for poor Fry. The other line I like is: Lincoln: "I was born in 200 log cabbins." Anyway I think it was one of the best episodes ever! GREAT JOB GUYS!

This was a good episode i didnt really like Roberto much, but aside from that, i thought it was a good episode. I loved the trial with Judge Whitey, but i looooved the giant chicken and how he convinces the judge to accept the insanity plea. Poor Fry. I absolutely adored Malfunctioning Eddie! Great episode!

The main point of this episode is that it was actually not just funny, but pretty creepy and scary. Fry getting manhandled in the robot insane asylum was frightening, because they actually showed him suffering. He had no food, he was getting shocked by the staff, he was stuck in an asylum shaped like a box with psychotic roomates. This is nightmarish stuff. When everybody just shrugged their shoulders about the mixup, and Bender just ignored him, I was actually scared for Fry, because he wasn't getting out any time soon. Imagine yourself in that situation. I think the episode managed to do that, and it scared the crap out of me, enough to buy that Fry would crack. Damn.

oh my first review. forever unread. anyways, i really don't see why this episode shouldn't get a 5. it has everything and there wasn't a boring moment. it had a lot of really good jokes, everyone seemed to have something funny to say, an engaging storyline and a nice moment for fry.
many many highlights:
fry "watering" the plant
the asylum stuff was great, esp what fry goes through. fry wearing nothing but a butt bearing hospital gown his whole stay and the way the strap jacket went on him like a happy strap.
the crazy robots were pretty good too, like the only one who believes fry is a human, who also believes himself is a human. and i also loved the malfunctioning vending machine that won't take your dollar.
prof. farnsworth's parting line to fry in the asylum: "it's ok fry,i too once spent a nightmarish time in a robot asylum...but now its almost over!! so long!"
prof. farnsworth: "that's going to bleed when my heart beats"
roberto's voice was perfectly psycho.

Definitely one of my top 5 favourite episodes (maybe even #1 but it's hard to decide). It has a lot more jokes than most of the other episodes, most of the jokes were hilarious, it has a great story, and Roberto is one of my favourite characters ever on the show. The robot insane asylum and the robots inside were so well done and interesting. Also, it's one of the few episodes that are so good you can watch them over and over and they never get old. Great work on this episode.

This is probably my most favourite episode of Futurama, aside from the less comedic, "The Luck of the Fryish" and, "Jurassic Bark". The jokes are persistently funny, the gags are gold. "56!? 56!?". Fry shines bright, Bender gets in good lines, and Roberto and Malfunctionin' Eddie top it off without making it seem to complicated or grabby. Perfect episode - 5/5!
