A tremendous improvement over the past several weeks of episodes. Funny stuff, comparable with A Fishfull of Dollars or possibly A Big Piece of Garbage.
-Zoidberg owned 51% of the company?
-The shares were worthless, and he kept asking for toilet paper!!

A hilarious episode by a first-time Futurama writer. The confusing ballot gag (which resulted in a vote for Pat Buchanan) and the fluctuation of the share value at the end while Fry was speaking were both priceless bits and contributed to making this, in my mind, one of the top 3 episodes this season. :)

What an awesome episode...right UP there with "luck of the fryish". So many of the recurring characters appeared, which is always awesome. Really good quotes, and I thought the 80s guy was hilarious! "shifting paradigms" was the best buzz word, right on!

I see futurama has taken the course of the Simpson's.
With the entire universe as a canvas for stories, there is no need to introduce permanent characters that do not belong. I.E. The janitor, and the old woman.
and do we really need another episode with Mom?

Excellent show. People who don't think Scruffy was a valuable addition to the episode are morons. It was not out of line for him to be present, seeing as how the episode revolved around Planet Express employees and their interest in the company. Agree with an earlier reviewer that the Apple computer parody was great. I also loved the FedEx rip-off logo "PlanEx".

Needed more BENDER, yet didn't leave me dissatisfied, since the last 2 eps have orbited around him. Where was Nibbler? Good to see Scruffy again. Focus seemed shifted away from Leela & Bender, which was a pleasant change. Only problem I found with episode was, if Zoidberg had controling share of stock, why wasn't Farnsworth elected CEO? I think we needed 2 re-counts in this episode! Then again, it just adds to the humor when you get into details.

P.S. Every episode I've seen gets a 5. What can I say? I love the show, period.

Not THE best, but I couldn't think of a single boring or extremely stupid moment in this episode. The writing was good and there were a lot of funny lines in this one.

Something told me this episode was going to be good enough to record in SP mode (highest quality) on my VCR, so I'm really glad I was right and I didn't end up regretting using up more tape space!

I thought it was a pretty good show with a lot of funny one liners. "My only regret, is that I have, boneitis" -80s guy. hahahaha thats some funny stuff. "Call me a booger blaster, I'll blast a booger so hard that..." -Fry. more funny stuff. Zoidberg was funny as usual too. Unlike some other people, i dont think scruffy is funny at all. I had mixed up feelings about this episode. I didn't think it was horrible like I did with "A Pharoah to Remember" and it definintely wasn't one of the better episodes of the season like "Roswell That Ends Well," or "Where the Buggalo Roam," but I thought it was half decent of an episode. It had some good highlights and with it came some downers, but it was an okay episode. I would've thought that the episode would've had more '80s references since That Guy was from that time period, but I guess not. I give it 3 Points.

Excellent episode!
Many of the characters all had great supporting lines and Fry who I consider the true main character finally had a funny centered episode. Not too preachy but even had a message. This episode is in the top 3 of this season. That Guy was a hillarious character (up there with Morgan Proctor). Great episode, great gags, good use of characters (Hermes, Mom, Amy), and goofy futuristic plot I've been waiting awhile for. Episodes like this really remind me why I hope Futurama does not get the ax from FOX.

Unfortunately, I missed the St. Patrick's Day episode, "Godfellas" because I was at St. Patrick's Day party, but I caught The Simpsons and got some great laughs in. I can't wait for them to re-show so I can once again say that I've seen every episode (even though I haven't reviewed in a while). I was surprised with the bad reception of "A Pharaoh To Remeber", at that time I tought it was the 2nd best of the year, only falling to "Anthology Of Interest II". But it's now down to number 3 after this episode. It was truly hilarious. All kinds of great jokes, and without a doubt one of the best ever. The episode just kept on making me laugh. It's quite as good as "Anthology Of Interest II", but it still just plain kicks ass. Which Is why if you check you will see that...

I wasn’t all that impressed with this episode, although I wasn’t expecting much because Mom is my least favourite character. To my surprise she wasn’t in it all that much, and she was used wisely in her best role to date! This episode just didn’t really gel with me, it was uneven, and just seemed strange compared to Season One and Two era episodes. It had some great bits, as all of them do, the rocket chair was cool, and the NNY Tube’s crossing scene was also a neat touch.

The 80s guy was better than I expected, he had some very good dialogue, and wasn’t too arrogant. The first half of this episode was a lot better than the second half, when it became very disjointed and almost boring. I didn’t like the fact that the Planet Express crew didn’t care about the company or each other; it should have only been Bender who thought that. Fry’s role was mediocre, not bad but nothing special either, it was way below average for a Fry episode, and a below average episode on the whole. Worst of the season so far.

The best moments were the Professor's opening speech, the confusing ballot/Pat buchanan joke, and the share price fluctuating throughout Fry's speech.

On the downside, the plot was paper thin, and the colour of the 80's guy's hair was wierd. It looked fuzzy and slightly transparent.

Overall, a middle of the road episode.

Great! Another season 4 episode that I thought was really quite good. Not as good as 'Buggalo', but definitely the second best of the season.
I've always been ahuge Mom fan, so I was looking forward to this one. Pity she wasn't in it too much, but the scenes in which she did appear were all gold. I loved the 'I don't want ass marks on my new door!' line. The only thing that could have made her appearance better was to have her being 'nice Mom' when she was in public, in her fat suit. The 'evil Mom' should only be revealed in private, like in her first episode. I had no idea who Pat Buchannan was, though, so that one fell flat on me..

Other funny bits included the very beginning, where the Professor thought he was dead, the Robot Bar-Mitzva (and the return of Pig), Fox -62, the bone-itis death scene, Elzar (his best line for a good while), Fry making his own gel, and probably other bits that I've forgotten and I'm not going to be able to see for five weeks, when I come home from uni.

Other noteable parts were the tube crossing, the PlanEx commercial (although I've never seen the 1984 advert) and Zoidberg and Scruffy being quite well written for once.

Bad bits.. I can't really think of much at the moment, except for the Ape Fight and Calculon's line, but I'm sure there were other ones, otherwise I'd be giving it a higher mark.

More episodes need to be set in New New York! This is one of the few in the season that is, and I think it benefits from it.

I'll give this episode 4/5, which is being generous. If it had been in the middle of earlier seasons I may have given it less. Still, a good episode.

A very good, very solid episode with some wonderful moments. The input of several more minor characters was great, while Fry and Dr Zoidberg were able to earn the episode several points on their opening quest for food at the meeting. Scruffy's appearence was hilarious, and the old woman and her cat were funny too.

One of the best bits was certainly the parody of Apple's early eighties computer ad, itself a parody of 1984 by George Orwell, which was highly slick and really made this episode stand out.

I loved this episode greatly, but at the end I felt surprisingly sorry for that poor 80s Guy. The way in which he died really was grotestque, and can close to ruining an otherwise fine episode for me, but in the end I could conclude that it really deserves 5 full points. After all, no episode which involves Fry as a business man and a thawed out cave man deserves any less!

Honestly, this episode is definatly one of the top 5 episodes, ever. That guy is so funny, I fell to the floor in pain with laughter the first time I watched it. The best thing about him are his speeches, attitude, and his accent. "Awesome. Awesome to the Max." It's so funny how he's so positive. I can't beleive anyone wouldn't like this episode.

And luck of the fryrish wasn't bad, it taught us a lot about Fry's family, and had a pretty good twist at the end. That's off topic though :)

Kind of cute. Amy never really seems to say much of interest, but she had a few good lines here.

On losing her job she starts crying "What will I do now, where will I go."

Her servant says something like "You have been invited to a cotillion at the Manor House."

She calms a bit, but still sniffled "Well that could be fun."

Also I think she was the one that when the guy said. "We want to be like Germany, scary and misunderstood."

Amy "Well sure we'd all like to be like Germany, but..."

And Scruffy had some good lines like. "Because Scruffy believes in this company."

On the whole kind of average though.

A perfect homage to the classic Oliver Stone flick "Wall Street" complete with tons of 80's references. This is probably one of the best episodes in the series IMHO. I caught this episode on Cartoon Network just after finishing my high school Econ class. The end where Fry gives his speech to the shareholders while the stock prices take a rollercoaster ride was spot on to what happens in the real Wall Street. The genius of futurama never ceases to amaze me!

This episode was "awesome; awesome to the max."

I like it a lot because:
- 'That guy' is extremely well done by David Hermann.
- The dialogue in is superb (e.g. "The Zoidberg Heavy-Sandwitch Portoflio.")
- I love the 'futury' aspects of Futurama: what Stock Markets will be like in the future or like ads in your dreams in another episode.
- it also has some cool touches like the stock symbols (see the commentary for more about his).

In terms of dialogue, this was oe of my favorite. Lot's of imitatable stuff.

Okay, before I start, can I just say that KevBell is an idiot? I mean, I don't like to say this about people I've met online, but "Down there with Luck of the Fryrish and Leela's Homeworld"? Those are two of the best episodes this show has ever created. To say that it's on the same level of quality as Luck of the Fryrish and Leela's Homeworld is basically a compliment. On the other hand, I do agree with KevBell in that this episode is kind of crappy. It's not at all on the same level as Luck of the Fryrish and Leela's Homeworld. It's far below. I only laughed a couple of times. Most of the jokes really didn't work for me. Also, the plot was uninteresting. I was really bored and disappointed by this episode. Better luck next time!
