That was pretty dang good. Zoidberg can get on my nerves at times... as he did in the first part of the episode. But a guilty Zoidberg is a funny Zoidberg

And the special ingredient is always a plus.

Awesome!Awesome!Awesome!Awesome!Awesome!Awesome!Awesome!Awesome!

Get my point? Ok, we get the obvious Iron Chef spoof, which was hilarious, especially since I watch that show every weekend. Then there were the Star Wars and Karate Kid references, and tons of good quotes. Zoidberg finally had another funny subplot going on with the bottles and Fry. Morbo was fu#*ing awesome, and and...one of my all time favorites. Oh yeah, and to top it all off, the magic ingredient was LSD, and they all couldn't wait to have the brunch!

A good one indeed. There weren't any absolutely fantastic jokes like the black bar generator joke in "A Leela of Her Own" but overall quite enjoyable. To people like Brian (up 2 comments) try not to give away spoilers like the LSD thing, the whole reason to have reviews is to inform people who haven't yet watched it.

And excellent first and second acts. However, the finale of the Iron Cook Showdown was a little lackluster though (even though I'm a big Iron Chef fan). More could have been done in describing the cooking, or with some background music or something.

Very good, I liked it alot. I actually missed a few lines because I was laughing so hard at Dr. John Zoidberg MD, at the beginning. I agree with the above reviewer that the last segment was a bit lackluster, the competition.

I loved the comment about Eugene and all the different movie references, but the absolute best was Chairman Chaga congratulating Bender at the end- "Domo arigato Mr. Roboto"!

GREAT ep!!!

Thoroughly enjoyed the whole episode. There were very good lines throughout the whole episode. A couple bad things though:

-Martha Stewart..... ugh.... not funny at all
-Iron Chef competition wasn't the greatest. More could have been done.
-Zoidberg subplot. THough hilarious, it could have been better integrated into the main plot.

But, this is definately an 'over 90%' episode. So I'm giving it a 5.

Not an amazaing episode, possibly the poorest of Season 4. The subplot with Zoidberg breaking the Professor's ship in a bottle was funny, as was Morbo's latest appearance. But the Bender storyline was pretty dull, nowhere near as good as "Godfellas" or even "A Pharoah to Remember".

Zoidberg was as boring and annoying as ever (excpt for the 'Fry did it! Woo-woo-woo..' line at the end) and the rest of the episode just seemed to lack any good jokes. Not even Morbo, one of the best characters, had that many good lines. Don't ask me why, but Bender's bad cooking here just wasn't as funny as in 'My Three Suns', and Elzar was never that great a character, which didn't help. The most boring bit of the episode, though, was the hobo planet. Apart from the 'romo' joke at the beginning, this section was so, so dull. The end was a disappointment too - it was just like I Second That Emotion, except not funny.

I'm sure I missed all the references, though. I've not seen Star Wars or Iron Chef, I've never even heard of Styx, and I've got no idea whose head that was in the jar on the judging panel.

One of the worst episodes out of a very bad season. The only two good season four episodes so far have been Buffalo and Futurestock, and not even they could manage 5/5. This one gets a pitiful 2, I'm afraid.

I don't watch Star Trek, so I doubt I'll understand the next episode, so roll on season 5, which at least has a couple of good episode descriptions.

This is one of the best episodes. Dr. Zoidberg is my favourite character and he has many hillarious moments in this episode, the best one was probably when he tried to fix the bottle, and he had the accident with the glue!

Good, but could stand to be better. As Mike says, it draws on other episodes quite heavily in areas but fails to be as funny. The Star Wars parodies weren't at all bad, and there was a decent share of jokes throughout (the main bulk of which in the first half), but the subplot with Zoidberg and the bottle was definetly one of the weakest subplots yet, and the Iron Chef climax could have been sharper.

One of the strongest elements of this episode is definetly the intergalactic animation - scenes in outer space are usually very impressively done, and '30% Iron Chef'was no exception.

Bender's main plot was kind of boring and dragged on too long. I've never heard of "Iron Chef" before so I didn't get the parody. Zoidberg's subplot was funny at times but it wasn't great.

There were only a few good parts in the entire episode. My favorite part was Elzar's antenna/crotch line. It was kind of sad when Bender started crying when he learned what a bad cook he was. I'd give this episode a 4.5 if I could.

This episode took a while to get rolling, but once it did it became very amusing. The Zoidberg subplot was kinda obvious, which took away from it, but the main story -- especially the IRON COOK challenge -- more than made up for it. Chairman Koji was very funny in a certain 'Japinglish' kind of way. Worthwhile entertainment!

Brilliant, switching prism, tree conicedentially gets sick only at brunch, i hate bottles! Ha!

Best Line:

Bender:'I shall avenge his death!'
Elzar:'Ehh, but you killed him...'
Bender:'But YOU'RE his mortal enemy!'

Prof:'Yes, pure water, laced with nothing other than LSD.'

Uhm, can I ask a question?

If bender is 30% iron(30% iron chef), and 40% zinc (fry and the slurm factory) AND 40% titanium (a head in the poles). Doesn't that mean that Bender is 110% Bender?

I had been looking forward to seeing this episode, being a huge Iron Chef fan. However, I think they missed out on a lot of possible parody. Less with Hobo Planet, more with "Iron Cook" which could have been far funnier. However, those who have not seen Iron Chef probably didn't understand this episode to begin with so...
Zoidberg was great for this episode, I especially loved his line, "make with the killing of myself!". Cracks me up.
Also, has anyone noticed that while Bender says he's 30% Iron in this episode, this makes him add up to more than 100% in composition materials?! What is Bender TRULY made of? Other than biting sarcasm and a shiny metal ass? :)
Summary: More parody, great episode for Zoidberg and Bender fans

I felt sorry for Bender though, even if his cooking was bad. :( Again his sensitive side showed! I think my favorite joke was: Professor: "This is just water laced with 2-3 spoonfulls of LSD!"
Bender: "So, who wants Sunday brunch cooked with a bottle of 'confidence'?" that joke or Hobo: "Looks like we met a new Robo" Bender: "What did you call me?!?!" Hobo: " You know like a robot hobo." My favorite joke in the whole episode was the T-shirt that reads, "I Hate Bottles" that Zoidberg uses as part of the plot to frame Fry.

My daughter and I think it would be cool to get T-shirts that say, "I Hate Bottles" and look like the one Zoidberg used. Probably not very many people would get the joke, but it would still be funny.

I died from laughter - "This guilt, this unbearable guilt"... this one has become an inherent part of my vocabulary. Absolutley hilarious. Best Zoidberg line after "If I only had my waaaaallet with me...".

Jeez, I love Zoidberg. Best character I've ever seen in any series.

This episode was pretty good.
By the way, how can I translate the Alien language to English?
Can you tell the adress of the document about that?

Dr Zoidberg rocks, its so funny when he feels so guilty about the ten dollars Fry pays the proffesor. Also I love Elzar when he goes "Bam"

The bit where Zoidberg tries to glue the ship back together and immediately causes chaos - covering himself in glue and wildly smashing into everything. Then the next scene where he walks in wearing a coat to cover it all... classic.

I love this episode. There are a few flat jokes like the palm tree getting sick from Bender's food and Morbo wasn't very funny. Overall there is just too much good stuff. I thought everything Elzar did was gold from his list why not tohelp Bender (including knocking up a notch I hate you) to his deadpan deliver of "alright but it sounds like you're the one who killed him" to him telling the woman it was none of her business and conjecturing that her mother was a prostitue on Kitch Coleseum. My only big problem is they actually cut the best sequence (check the deleted scenes) with the extended acussing parlor and how Fry apparently hopped backwards on one foot to reach the bottle.

This was so-so, the bit with Zoidberg framing Fry was funny, so was the Iron Cook part, but the rest lacks what the above has

Good. Zoidberg had some great bits.

The joke to time ratio was a bit low, but it was goo danyhow.

Very enjoyable, but Futurama can be so much better.

I don't understand some of the hate this episode receives. This episode is absolutely hilarious, some of the best Futurama has done. The jokes are well done, the sub plot about the bottle was genius, and the idea that Bender wanted to be a chef, hinted at throughout the entire series until this point, was finally realized. Probably the weakest part was the Iron Cook competition, but that was still littered with humor (Elzar was amazingly funny). Overall, this episode would get a 9/10 in my book, but because of the system this site uses, it gets a 5/5 instead.

This wasn't really a bad episode, it was just very unmemorable. It didn't make a big impression on me, which suggests that it didn't have many very funny jokes. It wasn't awful, but I barely remember it.
