That's thebest new episode yet! holy shit, i couldn't stop laughing!! "We're off to the most romantic city in the world!" (cuts to ship flying in to a city, sign says "welcome to milwaukie")...brilliant! The tron homage during the melding of the programming was great, too (if there was a Tron homage).

I think the episode had some great lines and a nice enough story. It wasn't one of the top 5 episodes for me, but then again this gets tougher and tougher with each new episode to air. Too bad I can barely remember '2001: Space Odysee' ...
Oh well, "Leela, you'll have to do some acting." was worth the wait alone :p

The stuffed bears, imitation of Hal, bender's jealousy over others washing the ship, the ship appearing at bender and fry's in the middle of the night... it was all hysterical. Guess we will have to get used to new uniforms?

A very funny episode long overdue. I was having withdrawl and this helped tremendously.

I thought it was great. I was laughing the whole time. I sat down throughout the whole episode too.

I loved the animation. The computer graphics were great. I think that Scott Vanzo deserves that credit he got in the opening.

I noticed differences in the voices too, but it was mostly Zoidberg's.

One of my favorite episodes already

Maybe not one of the best, but great nonetheless. I think everyone has great points about the voices; I too noticed a certain change in them, mainly in Bender's voice and perhaps in Zoidberg's as well at the end, but the latter was probably because of the fact that he took on the role of 'narrator'. All in all it was nice but I wonder what happened to the episode that was supposed to air a short while ago, Future Stock or something I believe.

THE best spoof on 2001 I have ever seen! Far better than the Simpsons (on the recent Halloween episode).

Anyways, about the episode...

Plot: a tad predictable, because of the spoof on 2001. However, I did enjoy the creativity in making it into a love story.

Humour: Hilarious. The love-bears... bwahahahaha! Bender dumping the ship... the timing could not have been better! The Omnicronians and "Wuv"

Overall, it had a great story for the holiday, and had a lot of great jokes in there that kept me laughing for a while!

This is one of my favorite episodes already too. I loved the Omicronians' opinion of candy hearts and 'wuv', the Professor zapping Leela in order to make her act cutesy, Bender referring to himself as a cuddly baby tapir, Zoidberg's narrative, and especially Fry giving Leela his O2... smooth move ;)
The whole thing was fantastic.

I thought this episode was okay. It wasn't as good as I thought it would be though. I didn't absolutely hate it or anything. I think the best part of the episode was that Lucy Liu made another appearance as herself. Hopefully she'll do more in the future, that is, if FOX asks Futurama to start making more episodes.

This episode just finished showing here in England.
And it was great as usual! ^_^
It may not have been as funny as some other episodes, but it was still a really cute and sweet episode, i nearly cheered for Fry when he gave Leela his oxygen.
But there were some funny bits, the Omicrons watching Friends, Benda singing again, and Zoidbergs little talk at the end were all great.

"The consept of Wuv confuses and infuriates us!!!"

Well, I'm pleased to say that 'Love and Rocket' wasn't that bad. Not great (and no way near as good as 'Put Your Head On My Shoulder'), but it was definitely an improvement on the last two episodes.

The main story itself, Bender falling in love with the PE ship, wasn't really that interesting, and at times, too stupid. For me, giving a spaceship a personality, and having it fly around a zoo just wasn't funny.

The Fry-Leela story was much more interesting, and it really should taken up more time in the episode. It may not have been as sweet as the romantic parts in 'A Flight To Remember' or 'Time Keeps On A Slippin'', but it still led to a good ending, unfortunatly spoilt in the last few seconds by Zoidberg.

Although, like the last few Futurama episodes, this one didn't really have many good jokes, there was still the occasional good moment. Bender's head getting chopped off at the beginning made me smile, as did Bender and Fry's enjoyment of a scantily-clad Amy washing the ship, 'obviously you're both ITEMS..', and the 'Bender is great' song. The only part that made me laugh out loud, though, was Lrrr's scene with the 'I WUV U' heart. Speaking of returning faces, it was nice to see those mutants back near the end, the robot floozies, and another mention of Sean.

Bad bits? Well, the heart factory scene was unfunny, too long, and fairly pointless, and the scene at Fry and Bender's appartment was just weird. The ship going nuts (including the bit where they're linked together) wasn't that interesting, either. Elzar saying 'bam' all the time is getting on my nerves, too.

Graphically, the episode was excellent, especially the anti-grav hearts scene, and the bit where Bender plugged himself into the ship.

I'm glad that the series is getting better again, and I'm really looking forward to next week's episode, just to find out more about Leela's past.

Normally, I'd give 'Love and Rocket' 2.5/5 - I didn't wuv it, but it wasn't that bad. However, as I'm not allowed to here, I'll round it up to a three (to separate it from my scores from the last two episodes).

As usual, another great episode although not one of my favorites. It was interesting to see a Season 4 production episode, brilliant writing and the concept of a spaceship in love with Bender was interesting. The episode jumped around to many different settings yet still felt coherently whole. Some really nice visuals like the candy floating around and seeing it get dumped. Lrr was as great as ever and those new uniforms were cool.

I liked it when the Planet Express ship visited Bender and Fry’s apartment. Another good thing is that the use of guest stars didn’t bring down the quality of this episode like they have done in the past. I didn't find this episode all that funny though, it had some great laughs but also some unnecessary stupidity such as the lion in the Planet Express ship. Overall a solid episode and a great ending, it was touching to see Fry and Leela so close and on the same wavelength.

A better than average episode, but not one of the all-time greats. The Bender/PE ship plot's not all that interesting, and the bit where they merge their programming is just plain boring. What saves this episode are the little things: trillions of candy hearts being blasted into space, the cameo by Lucy Liu, the Omicronians watching Friends, and Fry giving Leela his oxygen.

A good episode, particularly enjoyable for Lucy Lui's cameo and the ending narated by Docter Zoidberg. The main plot, with Bender and the Planet Express ship, does wear a bit thin a little too early on the episode, but the 'Daisy, Daisy'sequence was a good start. The best bit for me, however, was Leela wishing Fry a happy Valentine's Day...maybe some day they will become more than just friends after all.

I don't know if this replaces "Luck of the Fryish" as my favorite Futurama episode or not. Visually, this episode was stunning, with simply gorgeous 3D animation blended with the 2D about as well as is possible. I agree Sigourney Weaver did a good job on the ship, though I didn't recognize her voice at first. The episode was chock-full of good gags and, like the best Futuramas, really had heart (no pun intended). The characters were more believable and realistic than usual; hopefully this is a sign of things to come. Overall a great episode. It's sad that Fox has mishandled the show so badly that their only solution is to cancel it; Futurama continues to realize its potential and get even better.

Awesome episode. Whenever I quote lines from futurama, many of them come from this episode. "this is ancient earth's most foolish program. why does ross, the largest friend, not simply eat the other five?" LOL!! As well as Lrr's other quote "this concept of wuv confuses and INFURIATES us!"

The whole tour through romanticorp yielded constant laughter, as did Zoidberg's narriative at the end. "It was? Horray!"

Definitly one of my favortie episodes.

This episode was pretty good. It wasn't amazing, but it was still sweet and funny at times. It also reminded me how much of a jerk Bender can be. Which is a good thing, because he's been acting a little too nice lately.

What's keeping me from giving this episode a 5 are the unfunny jokes, boringness of the main plot, and lack of continuity.

Some jokes just weren't funny. Such as: Fry implying he only pretends to shower every day, and the Omicronians and "Friends". The main plot (Bender and the PE ship) was a little too boring and overshadowed the much better sub-plot (Fry and Leela). And finally, the lack of continuity. Since when was the ship able to talk? Since when was there a lion on the ship?

Still despite those problems, this was still a good episode. My favorite part was when Fry gave Leela his oxygen. Fry's so sweet.

Loved the 2001: A Space Odyssey parody in this ep: the ship's computer had HAL 9000 from the film down to a tee, the red eye was eerily accurate. Loved the "lip read" joke (in the film thats how HAL new what they were doing). Also the cyber-world kind of reminded a bit of the 80's sci-fi flick "Tron". Also the disconnecting the ship's brain, another wonderful parody since in this they're beer cans or whatever! And Bender even sings "Daisy, Daisy" as a reference to the movie. Loved it.

The animation at the end was gorgeous, some of the best I've seen. Loved the Fry/Leela bit: they almost get together and.... Zoidberg gets in the way.

Despite what other people say I'm sure these two are intended for each other. Eventually. Probably not until the final intended episode, but in the end. Yes.

This is a good episode. I did not know Bender was in love with the PE ship. Amy herself is super cool, this was a great valentines day episode with charm. I wish I would have been giving it a 5, but then again the ranks drop because there is not any humor. =-P

One of favorites. especially for the homages paid to both 2001: A Space Odyssey and its excellent sequel 2010: The year We Make Contact. Something both Stanley Kubrick and Peter Hyams would have been flattered by.

Very good. Love the Fry and Leela interaction, very touching. Plus, Zoidberg's speech at the end just really hit the spot for me.

Sweet when fry gives his life for leela. though she is pretty arrogant. she won't go out with her even though he's always nice to her. i could easily charm a girl like leela. i'm smart, i'd just work out for a while

I wonder if Bender really loves tapirs. It was a well written episode, but the plot was a little bit forced at times. Also, I would have liked it if the ship wasn't so crazy.

To Yigal R (Reviewer #116): Well, apparently, he does now. The tapirs are actually a reference to some of the beginning scenes of '2001: A Space Odyssey'. In fact, the entire episode is pretty much a spoof on that movie. Excellently done.

'Oh, if only I could read lips...'

To Everyone: Great episode, I'd rate it a six if I only could. The second best in the entire series!
(See 'Leela's Homeworld')
It made me almost want to cry... Would have made a great series finale.

Anyone consider the name 'The Tell-Tale Heart'?

The only thing wrong with this episode it that it's a very tired story to take on - But Zoidbergs bit at the end is a perfect way to finish the episode

Good Episode

I thought it started of a bit slow but when Bender starts dating the Planet Express Ship the episode picks up in terms of quality. The climax was brilliant too

I love Fry! And also Leela! And also Bender! And also everyone else! Christmas wish: make me into an animated character so I can go the Futurama-land and experience this for "real"!
and the candy-heart thing was just so "schweet"

Good story, hillarious jokes, great animations. I wuved the cuddly bears (especially the sign BEAR "HOSPITAL") and the whole 2001 references.
Zoidberg's narration at the end is just solid gold.

Very nice episode with quite a "cute" ending. Not hysterically funny, but it had its moments ("Hey, this isn't alternative rock, it's college rock!"). Also loved the Kubrick references. Zoidberg as the storyteller also worked well... perhaps a holiday episode with him in that role?
