Oh, my yes.

Now This episode had jokes that were unseacing unrelentless and utterly hilarous. The episode managed to take on Genderbending without over-expressing shock value, unless they were going for humor I.E. Professor Farnsworths "Surgory" with the sledge hammer.

Laughed my ass off.

they still got it.

I don't know about best ever, I mean, c'mon, not even close. But it was another good episode that turned out better than I thought it would. Calculon played such a prominent role, which always rules, and the last third of the show is just hysterical, and very clever.

I can't believe there's only 3 more episodes.

This was a pretty good episode. Funny, a little bit of feeling, and a look into Bender. Hilarious ending, like all Futurama episodes.

"Still got it."

Heh. Throwing off Boxy at the ballon was funny. I also liked Bender's understanding of the Male physce(sp?). The episode seemed a little rushed at the beginning, but I still liked it. All in all, a good episode. Clamps gives it a 4 out of 5.

I loved this episode! I don't review most Futurama episodes (since there are only a few I dislike) but this one was excellent. It's a shame I didn't tape it! I liked the bit about Hermes and the Olympic limbo contest in the beginning, and of course Bender's little song hailing Robania, a country which he (or rather, she) did not make up. I look forward to seeing this episode again as a repeat.

This is one of the few Futurama episodes that felt redundant. Not much wit to be had here. Felt contrived and unoriginal, which is usually my opposite reaction to the show. I will say, however, that this season (excluding tonight's episode) is arguably Futurama's best.

i just didn;t like this episode. the only reason i gave it a 2 because thier was a little bit of bender's greatness. But it all got ruined because he didn't screw over calculon. I also thought that the olympic parody and the small country whatever it was called

Solid, but average by Futurama standards. I enjoyed Hermes, who has had some pretty good gags this season, and many of the sex change jokes were great. I prefered Spanish Fry, so I guess I'm in the minority here.

All the characters were at their best. Too many laugh lines, gotta review the tape. Bender had his best scam ever going marrying a movie star for his money, gee that has never happened. Loved Zoidberg and his "I'm a doctor she's dead." line as he scarfs food of the floor. I have always liked Calculon and his over acting.

i really was sad and let down with this one. i sat down to watch at dinner, all prepared to get sentimental on the show and it's limited time left in my life, and they hit me with a dud. hermes was great and so was fry, but bender would have fucked him over in the long run, we all know it. also, a not to writers, as always, MORE ZOIDBERG. we can't get enough ZOIDBERG! Just flipped by Futurama tonight and had no idea what it would be about. I found it really great! I usually don't like any of the characters because they are either unfunny or too sarcastic, but tonight the show had a perfect tone. And so much of what Bender experienced is VERY true. Take it from "someone who knows" what it is really like!

Not terrible, but certainly not one of the best. It felt like the plot and the jokes were a little strained. I still love this final season, but I think this episode is a good example of why Futurama fans should be glad that the show hasn't been dragged through many seasons and played out like the Simpsons. The final three should be good stuff.

I thought it was great. I couldn't get enough of Bender living the life as a woman. And fry constantly asking him if he's really in love with Calculon and such. And the ending....when he started tearing up, I thought it was going to end there. But he gave one of his one liners to Amy and Leela.....great. That's what makes this show awesome! Too bad Fox just had to cancel it and replace it with Banzai [Gag me.]

This episode was one of the few I really didn't care for. Last week's epiosde, along with this, just seemed to drag. It did have it's moments, some funny jokes in it... but it got annoying by the end to have a lot of the stereotypical jokes.

I was also extremely disappointed with Hermes role. He started out a strong, heavy character in this episode... but then seemed to have been forgotten. I think this episode might have been more improved on if they added some more Hermes scenes, like what happened to him after he was disqualified in the olympics. It's been a while since we've had a good Hermes episode, so I think they should have given him a chance... but, they didn't.

Overall, it was an average episode. It had moments, but just seemed to drag. Last week's episode did the same, and it's starting to make Season 5 really lag. Season 5 is saved with episodes like "The Sting" and "Farnsworth's Parabox," which were both definate 5s in my opinion.

I watched it with my brother which made me like it more. I suppose it's really more like a 3.5 as some of the lines about women were more uncomfortable than funny. Why the distant future is, in ways like purposely designing fembots to be weaker, more sexist than our world is something I wouldn't mind seeing explained.

Still I think it did have some cute moments. Interesting to know Hermes's wife was married before and Calculon was good.

To really enjoy Futurama you must record it then watch the show again to enjoy the humor.

Bender: Professor, make a woman out of me.
Professor: Oh, I think we should just stay friends.

Professor: A robot sex change is a complex and dangerous proceedure. Replacing your Testosteroil with Fembot lubricants (Femzoil) can cause wild mood swings, the effects may be irreversable. Well let's get started.

Later.

Professor: Sorry ladies I must do this, not for you, not for Bender, but the proud people of Rebonia (the country Bender didn't make up).

The professor didn't say "Good news everybody" this episode...anyone keeping count on how many times he has said that during the series.

You must have a sense of humor to enjoy this episode, no matter how bad the sense of humor. 5 all the way.

I also loved Humorbot 5.0 "Snappy comeback not found" much funnier than Humorbot 4.35.

It just doesn't feel right to say this, but "Bend Her" left Futurama in a distant third behind KOTH and The Simpsons.

Just like the Simpsons in the lean years, the clever jokes in Futurama have been replaced by vulgarity, anger, and melodrama. It's a series of disjointed gags instead of a good plot peppered with frequent laughs.

Good parts: the pirate grilling burgers during Calculon's "clip," and the sort of game where everyone was throwing food at Zoidberg.

Bad parts: Too numerous.

Maybe it's good that Futurama was canceled before the quality decreased as far as the Simpsons...

Good episode! It wasn't great, but it had enough good moments (Nation of Joe, Calculon's "self-explanatory" scene) to get a 5. It was nice to have Hermes's limboing past brought up again. Ahhh... continuity. Bender was funny as a fembot (and she/he looked good too!).

Sorry, but yet again, another dud of an episode was presented tonight. That is *3* bad episodes in a row now. The only positive is I'm starting to feel less sadden about Futurama ending if this is what it's was going to offer.

Episodes like this have nothing really to offer, it's just mindless filler to fill up a time slot on TV.

Umm....it's kind of a wierd episode. It made me wonder if the reason this episode exsist is because the writer thought the fembot joke from Fry and the Slurm Factory could be strected out to an entire episode. Also, I wonder if this episode will be funnier once we see Bender Should Not Be Allowed on TV. I loved the Oylmpics and the sign at the wedding (Ordinary People not invited). But the whole Bender turning in to a fembot seemed overdone, perhaps if it was just a secondary story it would have worked better? I give it a 2. I hope the next two Bender episodes work out better than this one.

A hard call. I've gone back and forth between 4 and 3 for the last half hour. No great, laugh out loud moments like Spanish Fry. Not the depth of one of the two major story arc episodes like The Sting. Still, a good and interesting story, that holds up across the half hour (although I would have liked to seen more with Hermes and LaBarbara). Probabably deserves a 3.5, but as Futurama is still better than anything else on tv, I'll move it up to a 4.

This episode was alright, but certainly not any more than that. While the premise was amusing, I thought it was a bit predictable. Hopefully things will get better next week.

I found this episode very funny, and I think some people forget that a big part of the humor of Futurama is satire. This is a send-up of social sterotypes, as well as the scientific and medical communities' attitudes towards women (i.e., "the final debilitating stages of womanhood").
I thought all the characters were funny and true to form...even Bender as a fem-bot. Coilette turning back into Bender:
"I just wish..." clank "Calculon and I could..." clank "DRIVE TO VEGAS, FIND SOME FLOOZIE-BOTS, AND VOID THEIR WARRANTIES ALL NIGHT!"

You know how I can tell that it was just an average episode, I watched it with two of my friends who are not as die hard fans as I am and I saw it in a different light. I watched it knowing that they didn't know the whole 'Bender and Calculon' history and all the other series long running jokes. It was just ok, and unfortunatly, I think they're losing it a little bit. Hey, remember the Simpsons went through a couple of rough seasons out of their 14 or however many they have, so Futurama could be doing the same. It's just a shame that we'll never see it come back around again...

If this were a scale of 10, it would get a 4.7 since the whole "soap opera wedding" left me a little luke warm, but since it's a scale of 5, I'm rounding up.

I just went through reading the low rating comments, and I am shocked at the number of people hating both this and last week's shows. Are people being overly critical for some reason? Are these the shippers disappointed since FOX's scheduling lumped most of the shippy episodes together, and now they feel cheated since now there are a bunch of silly episodes playing? (Look at the production run. They are supposed to essentially alternate.)

Very, very funny. Many subtle, "easy to miss the first time" jokes that should provide for multiple enjoyable viewings ("Jamaicans have other interests too, which is why they were detained at the airport"). Yeah - it's a 5.

"Will we have donkeys?"
"All you can eat."

OH MY GOD. How can anyone take serious offence to stereotypes in Futurama? - like the Simpsons, the jokes are on the people who make the stereotypes, they are not actually enforcing them. The episode was clever, non stop funny with a good balance of characters. Bender's voice was hysterical regardless of what he was saying!

Not the best episode... how could it be when there was hardly any Fry time? It's like when the Simpsons stopped doing Bart episodes and made everything Homer. I loved the female Bender (you can NEVER have too much lipstick) but too much Bender already! And Hermes is boring! The Zoidberg scenes were great in this one, though, especially as the Wedding Planner.

the subplots again made it worth the 5. Zoidberg(Welcome to my life, Trying to catch food, I'm a doctor, she's dead)Hermes and LaBarbara, and Farnsworth describing the symptoms of womanhood.

Episodes without a Fry plot and/or subplot don't seem to work to we'll. Episodes like Godfellas not only had Bender becoming and meeting God, but Fry and Leela's subplot. This had a Bender plot, and a Hermes subplot which died after the first act. NO MORE BENDER EPISODES AND THERES GONNA BE 3 IN A ROW! what are they thinking!

But again Some Bender lines we're funny and the magic combo of Hermes and Zoidy made it a 5. And the whole wedding thing.

This was pretty subpar, even for a Bender episode. I didn't have my hopes set too high from the description, but I still expected it to prove me wrong. It didn't. Zoidberg was funny this time, and I liked the bit with Hermes competing in the limbo championship. But it went downhill after the beginning.

I consider Futurama to be a step above the rest of what's on tv, but this was stale sitcom-style "we're out of ideas, so we'll put a guy in a dress and hope it's funny". I love Futurama for its offbeat humor, which was lacking in this episode.

The "haha, men are jerks and women have emotions" jokes have been done to death. It's what standup comedians fall back to when they run out of out of good material. Whatever will they make fun of next? Airplane food?

There wasn't even a real subplot, since the Hermes thing was over after the first five minutes. I'd say this beats out 300 Big Boys for worst of the season. At least that episode had more laughs. Bender dancing around and shaking his assets just didn't cut it for me.

I can only hope the next few episodes are better. After all the great episodes this season, it'd be sad for the series to end on such a low note.

this is very rare for me to rate a episode like this. when i first saw it and thought. Bender? a sex change? Worst episode ever! but then i thought about it with hermes and the Olympic's which i liked and Ziodberg was great! also the little skit at the end. but the rest was just sick! i honestly wanted to rate it a 3 but i knew there would be a lot of upset people so i said ahhh what heck why not a 4!

I think that over all, I agree with most that has been said about this episode. Not the best, but not bad. I understand the twos, but on repeat viewing, it grows on you. Was Bender Bender? I think the point is that he was, and he was also more female, hence, why in the end he couldn't scam Calculon fully (still, he had all the gifts and everything, he must of done all right). A tie in to Love and Rockets would have been good, and Amy being more conflicted would have been great (why does she know going nude on a first date is trampy?). But, like I said, it grows on you, and I think the story held together well. Not a great episode like the why of fry or luck of the fryish or the sting, but a fun episode, and I don't think all episodes have to be breath taking. The more I think of it, a solid 4.

As the last episodes trickle out, we hope they'll each be fantastic blends of drama and romance and action and sci-fi concepts, but really, "Futurama" never set out to change the world--just make us laugh. It's not 'shippy and isn't an 'action-adventure' episode, but "Bend Her" did exactly what it meant to do: made me laugh. Like many S3 and S4 episodes, it could've been better with a rewrite or two--but it's quickly paced, gives everyone involved plenty of air-time, and made me just as uncomfortable as Fry and just as disgusted as Leela and Amy--all the while keeping me in stitches. Score!

A VAST improvement over last week's disappointing episode. Great seeing a whole new side of Bender! At first, it was kinda creepy seeing him as a women, but then I got used to it.

The episode wasn't very PC, but the humor was still good. I find it amusing to see gender distinctions in robots.

Very, very good. I thought the clip from All My Circuits that Calculon didn't have to set up was genius. Also, I agree with Werewolf that Calculon's treatment of his sycophantbot was great. I've seen it twice and it was funny both times. Once you get past the fact that this is an episode about getting a sex change it was pretty funny. The plot was consistant throughout the episode unlike some recent ones like Spanish Fry and 300 Big Ones which was refreshing.

I'm sorry to go against the grain here, but this was a very disapointing episode. I didn't think it was very funny or creative. Bender as a lady? Hermmes not a limbo champaign, didn't he save the crew using his limbo techniques? And later limbo under a stove? All in all it wasn't very funny nor did it have the interesting plot lines of the space honey episode, or emotional feel of Jerraassic Bark.

That was the most I've laughed during a Futurama episode in a long time, even if most of the laughs were just little chuckles.

Calculon was great; good lines that spring to mind from him were the ones about him not being able to sleep and his 'All My Circuits' clip being self-explanatory.

The Olympics scene at the beginning reminded me of the horse racing scene from The Luck of the Fryrish - the limbo race was hilarious, as were the French stereotypes, Bender telling Zoidberg to shut up even though he wasn't saying anything and Hermes' explanation of why he had been asked to limbo for Jamaica.

But despite all these good points, there was still something wrong with this episode that I can't put my finger on.. Maybe it was the fact that I hardly found any of the third act amusing, or maybe it was just the sheer weirdness of Bender as a fembot. Still, it was better than Spanish Fry, and if the last few episodes are up to this standard I'll be happy that the show has ended on a high.

A quite good episode. Not one of the very best, though.

Bender as a fembot was VERY funny. Not one for the female Futurama fans I think because it is full of stereotypes. Maybe sometimes a slip a bit too deep into romantic for my taste.

A consistantly funny episode, although to be honest the female bender 'Coilette' did look a bit scary!

Although the episode was an enjoyable take on gender stereotypes the best scene was possibly when the crew were throwing food at Zoidberg. Only Groening, Cohen and the rest of the Futurama crew could have made it as funny as it was.

"All hail Robonia, the land i didn't make up!"

Futurama is great and Fox is full of crap. This was another great episode. These last episodes have been very good, but I hope more will show on cartoon network. I heard that Matt Groening asked fox to move futurama to another channel, but they wouldn't let him. Another great show is cancelled to make room for fox's gay reality shows.

A lot of wasted potential here. A lot of the gags fell flat and the writers just didn't seem to clearly think through how male-bots and fem-bots could be used to parody human gender politics. It didn't help that Fox aired this before "Bender Should Not Be Allowed on TV." Clearly "Bend Her" was supposed to come afterwards (look at the production numbers). Just look at how Calculon didn't recognize Bender in "Bender Should Not...". Also airing three Bender-centric episodes in a row was a mistake by Fox. Nonetheless, look at how Futurama has creamed Banzai in the ratings!

I've HAD sex reassignment, and Bender creeped me out a little, but little things that were so true, thats what made it a good epp.

Belive me, when you have your "Testosteroil" replaced with "Femsoil" the moodswings are pretty accurate.

And if you ever know anyone who goes throgh it a lot of them act like silly stereotypes. at least till they grow up for the second time. teenagers do it but since they are EXPECTED to, no one notices. So, that was pretty true to life too.

Bender got that nasal tranny whine that makes me avoid transsexuals with a passion, down to a science.

I suspect the people who got so bent out of shape at this epp are the same sort of people who like to yell "FAGGOT!" at people out of moving cars, people who doubt themseves so much that that they need to post how much they hate it a dozen times under as many assumed names.

They are insecure, notice the repeated "crossdressing humor" complaints, Bender was not crossdressing. But if they can keep thinking of Bender as a "guy in a dress" they dont feel scared or angry. Then its just "faggy" and thats safe to hate.

Gender is the one thing you cannot question without driving people right aroud the bend. Screaming queens and comitted Lesbians are often more upset about people who surgically reassign than straights. It all depends in what they have emitionally invested in gender, and their conception of same.

Oh well, still. it was funny. Though I had to watch it a few times to get distance before I really saw it.

And so help me, the Professor in his scrubs looked like Dr.Schrang just before I went under. ;)

It was a great episode. My favourite was Fry's face when the Professor removed Bender's item and when Calculan was on that TV show when show that clip: "NOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

Bender: Hever been beat up by a guy dressed like a chi?
Man: Yeah..

Bender: My won limbo? No, I don't have my won limbo. You better send me one.

Bender: Is it tramp to go on a first date nune?
Amy: Yes!
Bender: Perfect!

Prof: She's becaming a slave to her emotions. Just like all women. Particularly you Leela.
(she slaps him in the face)
Leela: I'm worried about him too, Professor.

He said in the show to Leela and Amy no wonder you two girls aren't married, though he seems to have forgotten about Leela's two previous marriages in "A Biclops built for Two" when she alsmost married that creep Alkizar and "Time keeps on slipping" when she married Fry. One of the worst episodes, and easily one of the worst-aged. Most of the jokes fall flat, and most of the punchlines are just sexism with no deeper or clever ideas. There's a lot of great comedy one could derive from Bender Bending Rodriguez being a fembot, maintaining the drinking, smoking, cheap floozy-bots, and amazing sense of superiority. Instead it's just a bad sitcom episode with Futurama characters, and very little that makes Futurama actually funny.
