Curiosity leads the Planet Express cats into a parallel universe, where they and their counterparts suspect the other is the evil version.

Hilarious. Fry and Leela's expressions when they met the alternate married versions of themselves is priceless.

Still, my favorite moment is when Hermes is about to shoot the box into the sun and everyone jumps out of it while it's in the airlock, and he just kind of stands there with his finger hovering in front of the 'eject' button for a while, even after the professor yells at him to open the door. He really has to think about it for a minute.

Another great episode. I really liked this one, and I am planning on watching it again tonight. Lots of very good moments in this one. I really enjoyed seeing the alternative universe, especially the shot of Planate Express, and how the sky was a bunch of bright colors, it just looked great. Zoidberg wasn't as annoying as he has been in recent episodes, which I enjoyed because Dr.Zoidberg is one of my favorite charters, except when he's being like he was in Where the Buggalo Roam. Every episode lately has ended with hope for Fry and Leela, which is of coarse leading up to the last episode. The end of season 5 is turning out to be great, several 5/5 episodes in a row. Only hopping for the best with the last 6.

Fantastic episode. I love the whole explanation of flipping coins making everyone's lives different. The interaction between the two Farnsworths was hilarious.

Farnsworth A: "Well, getting the brain out was the easy part. The hard part was getting the brain out." *laughs in a silly way*
Farnsworth: "Hehehe, you..."

As well red and blue zoidbergs. The Benders' song was hi-larious, I couldn't get enough of those two together. The chase through all of the universe was great, the crew with no eyes "We didn't see anything...ever." The Professor telling Freakworth to get a job. All of it was classic.
The animation was great when the Professor was holding the box and both crews were jumping into it. Also, I loved Herme's slow thinking about whether to push the button to eject them into the sun.

The only flaw: thirty minutes (with commercials) wasn't nearly enough time.

Damn...Andy at "Ain't No Such Thing As Too Much Amy Wong" is going to have a hell of a time figuring out where that HUGE ejection port fits into the Planet Express Ship...

Favorite Bits: The Hippy Universe; chunky coffee; "...A year later I was beaten up at a Neil Diamond concert by a guy NAMED Scrunchie!"

The last episode got me to wondering if there was going to be a downward spiral in terms of quality in the last few episodes... well'p, I was wrong! I'm usually a pretty conservitive reviewer here (come on, did "The Sting" really deserve more than a three?) but this one is a definate five! All the characters get used, and used well, rather than mainly being used for one-joke props as they were in "The Sting." And the parallel crew was awsome, especailly the gilded Bender! This one is probably #2 in my all time favorite list, right behind "Godfellas." I just wish the writers would finish milking the Fry-Leela romance thing... It's been whipping back and forth for SOOOOOOO long!

It is 3:00 AM here in the central US and I have just finished watching this episode on my recorded tape. One of the strangest episodes I have ever seen. Also, one of the funniest ones I have seen in a LONG time. Brilliantly written. Like the 3D shots from the one universe to the other.

I liked the thing with the coin flipping and the colors of the of the other people of the planet express (Hermes yellow hair...). Fry and Leela getting to see that they are married in the other universe, and at the end Leela actually agrees to go out with Fry, and the last few eps are indications that we are really reaching the end of Futurama.

It was cool seeing all of those different universes of the Planet Express gang when they were jumping into different universe boxes. Those were some hilarious scenes. And seeing Hermes, Leela, and Fry with no eyes was VERY strange and WIERD. It kind of frieked me out at first. Seeing the two Zoidbergs together and acting like the king of the universe was hilarious. And as previous people before me have said, Hermes long decision at the end to whether or not to press that eject button after the proffesor tells him not to was the highlight of the show. Best season 5 yet!!!

With this episode, though, comes the sad, cruel reality that there are only 6 new Futurama eps left in the bag (at least there is Adult Swim to rerun eps). Last few eps have been very good. Let's hope the next 6 are too!!

Rating: A+ 5 ***** !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AWESOME!!! i loved the parallel universes. that moment when we learn that parallel fry & leela are married was a real jaw-dropper, the hippie farnsworth "baby, they're somewhere, everything's, like, somewhere. place is kindof eau naturale right now". that line was *priceless*. well i'm overbubbling with the goodness of that episode, there was just so much good stuff. one of the best ever!! :):):)

It was great! I liked the colors of the parellel PE crew and world. The crew without eyes was sort of disturbing when combined with that "We didn't see anything-ever!" line. Parellel Amys were funny with the whole pink nailpolish thing. This ep actually had a nice intertwined story and didn't just go nowhere! Like how the Zoidbergs stole the box, then they had to look for the box, then the whole Hermes thing started.

My fave part of the ep was with Hermes hestitating at the airlock. I was wondering why he wasn't in the other universe in the beginning.

I love Fry and Leela and I really want them to get together in the series finale, but stop using then so much! The last 4 eps have been shippy in one way or another. It's great that the writers wanted to lead up to the series finale, but their relationship has been used too much this season! I know, FOX aired them out of order, blah blah blah, but STILL.

This episode was freaky and didn't make any sense. Terrific!

I just can't give it a 5 star rating... The Sting was just too damn good. There was something that didn't feel right with this episode, i don't know what... There were many really funny parts in it, so the comedy-aspect was very OK. Maybe it was the fact that Fry was talking very plainly about Leela constantly rejecting her, the first scene... I would have liked that better if there was a bit more romance, or passion or something in that conversation. Also, i think Leela didn't talk the way she used to, like the "heads! ow yeah, yeahyeah... i mean... allright then". She wouldn't normally do that...
I'm very glad Leela and Fry are gonna go out on a date.

So to conclude, it was a very nice episode, but the humor was again very accentuated, like it was in the earlier episodes. This is not a bad thing, but I think because The Sting was so good, I can't give this one a 5.

This was an awesome episode, really one of the funniest in a long, long time - since Parasites Lost as far as I'm concerned. In any case, this should show Fox just what they'll be missing out on. But more celebrity guest spots on The Simpsons should make up for it.

A really good/funny episode. Not as
good as The Sting, but this was meant to
be funny and not angsty.

The universes: no eyes- "We didn't see
anything---ever!

The robot version: Robot Fry: " Leela will you go out with me?"
Leela: " Uh, access denied."
Robot Fry: *head explodes*

Giant bobblehead universe: lots of insults.

And the hippie universe.

And now I'll flip a coin to determine my
rating.

*Flips coin.*

* calls head.*

* It lands on heads.*

" I would've given it a 5 regardless."

The best episode this season. By a mile.

This episode is exactly the reason I liked Futurama in the first place. Lots of great humour and character moments that made the earlier seasons so good. And they handled the Fry/Leela relationship without smacking us over the head with it like they did in many of the other episodes this week.

I agree with everyone who says that something was missing. It was probably difficult enough to squeeze the entire cast into a single episode, but now they even have doubles? It was a lofty idea. This was a very well written episode. The idea of having parrallel universes in boxes and that how the two differ is based on the outcome of a coin flip. It was neat how they found a way for our universe to exist in a box that small enough for us to hold. The two Zoidbergs were great and so were the two Benders. Overall it was a great story. A++++

What can I say! As a true devotee of this show (my cars plate# is ZOIDBRG :) ), I have studied every ep in detail and this one was just great! As previous posters have indicated, this is the reason we enjoy Futurama, original out of the 'box' writing. Whoever suggested Hermes is a Fox suit in disguise might not be far off. We need a new universe where the Fox execs get ejected and our show stayed on!

I recommend we all re-watch this episode and really enjoy this show for the pleasure it gives us all. Imagine, intelligent thoughtful comedy, who'd watch that?

Not quite as good as The Sting, but still very entertaining. I liked how Bender dragged Fry along to help steal the box but didn't actually need him for anything, needlessly melting all the of the butter in Fry's pocket.

Can't wait for the DVD.

Has any one else noticed how FOX is sticking it to Futurama fans?

This is probably one of the best episodes I have ever seen besides from Godfellas which I still think is the best. Anyway I loved the paradoxes being presented to one - how can you have your own universe in a box in your own universe? How did they switch boxes? Many questions is left unanswered which is one of the main reasons why I love this episode so much. Oh, all of the characters really played their best I think - but I was not so thrilled with the blue Zoidberg - he was kinda not Zoidberg-ish.
Also funny to notice how I took party of the "Universe A" characters instead of "Universe 1" even though they supposedly were there same. I didn't like golden Bender, redhaired Leela, nor brain-experimented Farnsworth. But great episode - sad it is soon going to be all over :/

Well I flipped a coin,
Heads I would give it a 5, tails I give it a two.

It has been a uneven season, and each season is gonna have that annoying episode.

Sorry but it was this one, NOT JURASSIC BARK. Shame on Futurama Fans for bashing that one.

I am giving it a extra point because of the Hippe Universe that was shown towards the end.

As for Hermes about to press the button, that reminded me of Star Trek 2.

It sucks that Futurama is going off the air, but fox wants to keep KING OF THE HILL, OLIVER BEANE, And other crappy reality shows.

This would've made a interesting Series Finale Episode. Since Fry sits on the box at the end of the episode and the actual universe starts to bend.

It had some great line feeds, but not the best written.

Are you people crazy!! I AM VERY ANNOYED AT ALL THE PEOPLE WHO SAY THIS WAS WAY BETTER THAN THE STING. The Sting was boring, lacked comedy, and the whole thing was about romantic crap! They could've added SOME comedy. But it was just all about Fry and Leela's romantic life. This episode is one of the top 5, just below Luck of the Fryish and Roswell That Ends Well.

Great Episode with excellent Ideas. It had plenty of great jokes, especially in the numerous universes that they entered.

I loved the blue/purle Zoidberg and the gold Bender.

Given the brilliance of "The Sting", I was actually expecting a bit more extistential psuedo-scientific insanity before the resolution ... also, I think they've run the whole "Zoidberg is so poor he has to eat garbage" thing into the ground. And, I can't say I ever thought the cheap shots at hippies was ever that clever. (Well, except for the Professor's reactions to them.)

I'm getting it all out of my system first so that I can close by saying that Futurama is clearly one of the best, most innovative, most entertaining animated shows on television, and certainly the best thing Fox could ever hope to cancel. This episode is simply further proof.

"Satan! You owe me!"
"And, the box itself is probably also worth something."

A pretty good episode. I thought that it was all spread a bit too thin as EVERYONE got a moment to just talk to their parallel selves, even if it wasn't incredibly interesting. They're definitely pulling out all stops on the Fry/Leela thing even though it seems like they begin every episode from the same place and end it in the same place. It starts out with Leela none too interested and Fry desperate and ends with Leela realizing Fry's not so bad and worth a shot. They did it three times this season alone (Why of Fry, The Sting, Farnsworth Parabox) and roughly a million times in past memory (Time Keeps on Slipping, Love and Rocket, etc.) JUST GO SOMEWHERE WITH IT ALREADY!

...sorry

This was an awesome episode. I loved all the surrealism of it, with the swirly-colored sky. the futurama cast x 2 resulted in humour x 2. And I swear I started belly-laughing when hermes's "fat head" got stuck in the box that was one of the universes. However, I didn't like this as much as I liked the sting, so the highest rating I can give it is a 4.

I've never reviewed before but I've been visiting this site for some time and have read many of the reviews of other (and I've seen all the eps and consider myself a big fan). Wanted to add my voice to those that appreciate 'Rama and want the a-holes at Fox to know it....

So, I liked this ep and the last one very much. This one in particular was smart writing that didn't sacrifice humor at all. Of course I love it when they play to the followers, so my favorite from last night.... the simutaneous, extraneous "DOOOOOMMMED" from BenderA and Bender1, which I guess on it's own is not funny, but to me was hilarious!

Did y'all notice how Frye's clothes shrunken and tight for the scene where he and Bender went into the steamy vents in the PE building and attempted to steal the box?

Looks like they're going out in style. Superb, 5.

Great episode! I love the "Meanwhile in UNIVERSE-A, HERMES-A heads toward the SUN....-A" Also, near the ending makes it sound definate Fry and Leela will get married. The near end of the episode stated Fry and Leela will date, and when the paralell version of Fry and Leela dated, they got married.

A great episode! The best part was the end when Farnsworth pulled the box, containing his own universe, thru the Universe B's Box(!?) And it was like (dun dun duuuh, [music]) making everyone wonder what is going to happen since they could possible still destroy themselves, pure hilarity...WIDE SCREEN. They don't even put the box in a vault, after so much abuse what'll happen?

Why Fox whyyyyyyyy!? Lately I've been wondering how much it would cost just to get the production crew back together and make another season 13-16 episodes!! I bet those genius writers get couple 100k/year!

something felt forced about this ep, as if they had a great idea for it but didn't know how to play it out right. but it seems like i'm the only one who thinks so. the fry/leela plotline felt the most forced, starting w/the marraige thing. this may have not been up to futurama standards, but it did have it's great moments. my fav scene had to be that opening, w/leela rejecting fry again while the professor is upstairs. Truly one of the best that I've seen, and I've seen them all! Reminded me of 'Time Keeps On Slipping', another of my favorites. It really uses the full sci-fi potential of Professor Farnsworth. You'd think an episode like this would only fit in as a 'what if'/anthology of interest episode, but the acrobatics of the writers are able to take us to the depths of a parallel universe and back again. Without a hitch! Amazing!

I really liked this episode, it was funny and clever, peppered throughout with comedy winks and nods that make you glad to watch it again and again, like nearly all of them are. I know I'll now start telling my friends to "kiss my glorious golden ass!" Fantastic! Considering the boneheadedness of Fox, specifically, although not exclusively, I am actually considering cancelling my cable tv subscription. Every show on tv that's worth a damn just gets cancelled anyway, why should I pay to watch crap? That having been said, the DVDs of Futurama can't come on the market fast enough as far as I'm concerned, I've watched my Season 1 DVD so much my eyes only see in Groening-vision now. Watching hilarious, intelligently written, beautifully and artfully animated episodes like The Farnsworth Paradox make me happy for a full 30 minutes, and then it's back to the horrible reality that my favourite show is close to being gone for good. You American fans have it pretty sweet, since the Cartoon Network plays reruns. And British fans are lucky too, Season 3 is already about to come out there. But here in Canada, I'm afraid, Fox is my only source for anything past Season 1. Why, oh why, do I have to be tortured this way? It makes me want to give up and jump into the nearest box with the hopes of tye-dyed coloured skies and blue lobsters. If only.

Solar system B (or 1) is a little off. Saturn B's orbit is interior to Jupiter B's. (Unless that was supposed to be Neptune B. But it sure looked like Jupiter B to me.)

As for the ep: it was good, not great. I will not destroy the planet, but neither will I give the formula for immortality.

If possible, I would give it a 3.5 out of 5, or 7 out of 10, or 11 out of 15.7. (Mmm, pie.)

Hermes contemplating firing everybody into the sun...A, was funny, as was Leela knocking out Eveela with the same move.

Too much wasted opportunity with Zoidbergs. Also, we should have seen Leonard Nimoy's head with a goatee in one of the universes. (Or van dyke, or what-the-hell-ever.)

And really, there can only be one universe by definition, so anything we imagine, discover, or create is actually an aspect of the same universe. Not an issue specific to this episode. Or this series. But I digress.

Wow, a near perfect episode, for me right behind "Where no Fan" and "Roswell". Comparing it to "The Sting" isn't a bright idea, they're two different kinds of episodes. "The Sting" was more of a character driven episode. "Paradox" is more crazy sorta humor that Futurama is best at. Of course the two Farnsworths and Zoidbergs were awesome. Now if you excuse me, I think I'll make a trip to Universe 420.

This in my opinion is the best futurama episode ever made.

The universe in a box concept was great and the implementation of this idea was superb.

Too bad that it was overlooked that destroying one of the two key boxes, thereby destorying the Universe within the box, would as a result destroy the second key box, thereby destroying the Universe that destroyed the first key box.

Also it was already infinity before they pulled the box through, as demonstrated in the above paragraph.

Still, since Futurama is not a serious show, then missing these points is part of what made it so funny.

Awesome ep, I loved it. The storyline was so cool, and I love it when Futurama makes use of it's sci-fi potential. I've gotta admit I was kinda disappointed that it didn't really involve much stuff happening in space. From the descriptions, for some reason I thought we'd get loads of neat Godfella's type space scenes. But appart from that I loved it.
The beginning was class, and seeing everyones doubles and interaction was awesome. I also loved it when they all went into different boxes to search different universes, neat idea. One of my favourite scenes is when Bender and Gold Bender hug, and take eachother wallets behind their backs, classic. And I also loved the whole coin flipping thing. Oh, and the colours of the sky in the parellel universe were extremely cool.

I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. Futurama now OWNS the paradoxing 'spacial anomoly' themes that Star Trek used to handle. It can do things (like put our universe in a box!!) that no other sci-fi show could do, with credibility. Thats what makes Futurama better; The combination of comedy and sci-fi adds new depth to storyline possibiliies.
I love the whole Leela and Fry relationship, don't you guys think that relationships are character jokes are handled much better on Futurama than on The Simpsons? :)
But watching the episode I couldn't help thinking constantly "What if?". What if things had gone differently? I wonder if the writers had a conundrum with what direction to go in with this plot? Am I the only one who thinks that Fry, through sheer hatred and envy, could have resorted to impersonating the alternate Universe's Fry? I could imagine he'd knock him out, blank his memory (dye their hair) and switch places! Can you imagine how that'd gone?? :D

Great episode!

Another great episode. If someone told me that this and 'The Sting' were rejects from season 2 I really wouldn't be surprised.

The idea for this episode was great, and it was interesting to see the alternate crew, especially the blue Zoidberg. I loved the way the Professors solved the problem at the end by grabbing the other box, and Fry squashing the universe down at the end was hilarious.

The next few episodes to be aired don't look that interesting, but the quality of these last two in comparison to most of season four has really given me hope for the series finale.

Comparing 'The Farnsworth Parabox' to all Futurama episodes, I'd probably still only give it a 3.5, but I'll round it up to four for this review, just because it stands out so much from most recent episodes.

I saw The Farnsworth Parabox on Sky 1 tonight, and I have to say that I loved every moment, it's a truely great episode. It makes you laugh (a lot), boggles the mind, and contains brilliant animation (the shot zooming into the box, through the universe, and down to the PE building was excellent).
I don't think i've ever laughed out loud much watching any other Futurama episode (and that's saying something, because I laugh very hard at most episodes). I couldn't stop laughing for 5 minutes after the moment when Hermes pauses and has to think if he should press the button or not. I loved the scene with the two Zoidbergs, as Zoidberg A bows down kissing the other feet!
Also, in the scene where Leela shouts "I've got sweaty Boot rash!" Everyone in my family laughed, but I laughed realy hard. But then I realised i'd miss-heard, I thought she said "sweaty boob rash!"
Although either way it's still funny.
I know i've said this after each recent episode has aired but this is instantly one of my favourites ever! Season 4 of Futurama may be the last but it's also turning out to be the best!
Just an afterthought after rewatching it a minute ago, do you think that the scene where Farnsworth holds the box infront of his chest and everyone jumps inside is a parody of the scene in The Matrix, were Neo jumps inside Agent Smith?

Another goodin! (Hey even the poorer episodes are great). Liked how the two farnsworths traded their boxes at the end which resulted in Fry altering the universe with his ass (sitting down on it at the end)
Must agree with everyone best bit= Hermes with the airlock button. Once again makes you wonder why Fox cancelled the show? Why Rupert? why?

Really funny episode!

Fry: "So thats why you told me you had to meet that ghost??"

Anyway, I think it would have been much funnier, if the parallel characters had been different to the originals (besides hair and clothes) instead of exactly the same. Also, I would have liked a short scene with parallel Zapp and Kif.

Besides, for some reason Hermes really seems to hate his co-workers... When Bender was crippled in an earlier episode he said that for him a life-long dream came true and now he first tells Leela to shoot the others and later considers to fire them all into the sun...
That would have been an interesting ending for the very last episode, wouldnt it? :-)

IMO, this is the best episode of season five hands down. I'm a total Fry/Leela shipper, but I haven't been to crazy about most of the shipper episodes for several reasons.

1. In most shipper episodes there's not much of a plot beyond the furthering of their relationship.

2. None of the other characters are given much of anything interesting to do in shipper episodes.

3. Most shipper episodes are more dramatic/sentimental than actually funny.

The Farnsworth Paradox thankully doesn't fall into any of these pitfalls and the result is a great shipper story that doesn't sacrifice anything else that I love about Futurama. Awesome.

I like the fact that alternate leela gave alternate fry a chance and because of that they got married, i makes you think what would happen if origional leela gave origional fry a chance. fry looks pissed of when he and leela are having dinner with their alternates. did anyone else think the bobblehead universe was hilarious? and lastly the best lines came from alternate bender:

This has to be one of the best epsiodes, I couldn't stop laughing untill it was over, then I rewound the tape and watched it again, and again, and again.

The chase scene through all the parallel universes was classic, especailly the two Benders looting instead of looking for the 2 Zoidbergs.

All in all, this episode played out like a old Twlight Zone, which for me made it all the more special. So sit back, light up a joint and enjoy.

Brilliant, hilarious and wonderfully psychedelic! Glad to see a Futurama episode guide that got the episode title correct, too. It's listed incorrectly as "The Farnsworth Paradox" at TV Tome (www.tvtome.com) and other places too (I think www.geos.tv also got it wrong).

Well what can I say, pure brilliance. I loved how they squished all the quantum uncertainty into the most bastic probablity difference and the 2 Zoidbergs and Benders were both awesome. Five stars, much better than the sting in my opinion since it did exactly what futurama was meant to do, do homage to Sci-Fi while at the same time making fun of how stupid some of it is.

Definitely one of my favorite episodes from this season.
This tops my list of the best Bill Odenkirk stories. This guy is a genius of contemporary comedy. I've been a fan of his writing since his days on Mr Show, and I'm glad to see Futurama gave him the opportunity to develop even more as a comedy writer.
The jokes were on point and fast paced, and the story didn't let up one bit. I had trouble finding any part of the episode that didn't have me intensely interested.

Hmm okay. I admit that was one part I thought odd. I tended to think of the boxes as doorways to other Universes, but they were the other Universe. It's a bit boggly. If A created B and B created A how the heck does that work? Still having it work that way added some neat things that wouldn't have worked if they'd simply been doorways.

The look on Fry and Leela's faces when they found out the alternet versions of themselves are married- hilarious!
I also loved the other universes, especially the one where they had no eyes! Oh yeah, and "Yeah, leprhachan (sp?) land is great, if you haven't been to pirate land!" Priceless!
The hippy thing was kind of odd but cool.
I loved how Hermes still stood there trying to decide if he would push the "eject" button. That was funny. This episode kept me in stiches.

Now this episode made me smile. I liked how at first, the PE crew thought that the pararell universe followed "Superfriends" rules, meaning it was full of evil clones. Instead, it followed "Star Trek: The Next Generation" rules, meaning most of the universes the professor made could have been made by changing the past. We also get some bizzare paradoxes where the changes are to choices made by god (including making the crew hippies). The ending was also hilarious.

Although Fry dies in this episode, I was surprised to feel less sad than in "Jurassic Bark", for example.
It's probably because you know that, of course, he will come alive in the end of the episode.
But Leela's madness was really disturbing.
You really don't know till the end, if she's awake or dreaming,
if she's insane or not.
All in all, it's one of the best episodes I've ever seen; exciting, romantic and with a happy ending.
The only flaw I noticed:
Why is Leela taking the baby queen bee with her?
Such stupidity would better fit to Fry. ;-)

Ace. This episode has a huge helping of humour, a sprinkling of science fiction, and, of course, the glorious golden Bender.

Its the two Benders who relly stole the show though...

"Look what I stole from the leprechaun universe"
"That's nice...if you haven't seen the PIRATE universe!"

"We're doomed!"
STEREO: "DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMED!"

How Futurama was back in series 1: primarily a comedy but with some sci-fi to set it apart from the competition. Truly excellent.

Brilliant ep! Definately one of Futurama's best. A brilliant start with the Professor desperately trying not to blow the Planet Express building up and everybody else completely ignoring it.

Great to see Leela fending off Fry's advances with any old excuse - and Fry dumb enough to believe her. Sweaty boot rash indeed! And a great Amy joke - her sitting at the opposite end of the room even when Leela's blatently lying! It's only bettered by what I think is the best gag in the ep - Amy/Alternative Amy dissing on each other because one has pink toenails and the other has yellow - unbelievably Amy is not only at bitching at herself here - and boy, not only is she obsessed with her own appearance - she's also an idiot.

The whole parallel universe stuff was great too - great to see an alternative Leela and Fry - married! Boy do they make a cute couple! (and doesn't Leela look gorgeous?.. Sigh...)

Great gags (the Professor/alternate Professor's mindbending gag about destroying the universe: (if you're thinking that I'm thinking that then you must have thought of it first) Brilliant.

Good plot, story, and nice resolution. And maybe a slight shift in Leela's stance towards Fry. Maybe.

My favorite parts:
Professor 1: No wait, I've got it! I know what's in the box. Oh I've been as dumb as Fry!
Fry 1: Am not!
Professor 1: It contains a parallel universe! And when you create a parallel universe it's almost always populated by evil twins!
Leela: No look, I am not evil. My loan officer said so
Professor 1: Oh you'd like us to believe that wouldn't you Leela? Or should I say Eveela?
Bender 1: Oh this is awful. Somewhere there's a Bender more evil than me. I do my best dammit!

And offcourse the part with Hermes deciding wheter to push the button or not. :D

This is one of the best episodes of Futurama. I can think of only one better episode - "Antology of Interest I"

The best lines were , of course, by the Professor(s): "Now, now, perfectly symmetrical violence never soved anything."
"You people with your slight differences disgust me!"
"Getting the brain out was the easy part. The hard part was getting the brain out!"

And, of course, the absolutely hillarious scene with Hermes deciding to push or not to push the eject button.

Marvelous. :)

Anyone else notice that Leela's arm band was on the wrong arm again? Check out the symmetrical fighting scene. It's on her left arm. It should be on her right. In fact, both Leelas have the arm band on their left arms. Little goof there.

You have to be kidding me? Leela went on a date with Fry. You could definitly tell it was getting close to the end of the season, what happened to Leela and her high standards. I'm always up for romance but that is creepy. Fry saw that he could have a future with Leela in the other universe. Also they never put enough Zoidberg on episodes. I DEMAND MORE ZOIDBERG!!!!!

I like the attention to detail and subtle pranks on us viewers. First up, when Leela is about to go into the yellow box, the frames switch from her to the view with the box and her and the back wall about three times. Each time, the wall is a either red or blue. First red, then blue, red again, and then she goes into the parralel universe which turns it blue again, but in a later shot, it's red again.

Also, when parallel Leela enters for the first time, she is appropriately holding a coffee.

Favorite line ever: Baldercrap!

I really love this episode, especially the whole concept of the plot. I mean, how can you just get an plot-idea like this and make it into a great episode? And also, all the characters are all great, from the two Benders: "Make new friends but kepp the old, one is silver and one is gold!" to the two Zoidbergs lies about themselves and "woop-woowoowoop-woop".

And finally, the ending. It kills me every time I watch Fry sitting on the squezzed universe and really enjoys it: "Aaaaaah..."

another strange episode, i think all te episodes on this disk are odd :p. But it's also a well thought out episode. i like the other bender. For some reason i prefer him, wierd heh?

Leela1:you really missed out on something leela, that date was magical.

fry1:one year later i gave her a diamond scrunchy, and we were married.

frya:one year later i went to a niel diamond concert and got beat up by a guy named scrunchy!.

Zoidberg-1: And those co-workers. Always looking down on us Zoidbergs. What are they, from Nob Hill?

Zoidberg-A: They're all like 'Stop spraying me with ink Zoidberg, put on pants Zoidberg, don't touch our fancy box Zoidberg'.

oh yeah all the worlds were:
Universes made by the Professors:
#25 - People don't have eyes
#1729 - Bobble-head universe
#31 - The crew are all robots
#XVII - Roman universe
#420 - Hippy universe
There is also an (unseen) leprechaun universe and a pirate one.

As you can tell, i like paying attention to episodes :p, although i copied the universes from another site =).

i give this a 5, because it is well thought out, and that my kind of thinking!

I am really glad they came up with something like this. The 420 universe, talk about the hippie looking Amy. Why would she have her hair like that, mostly it is straighten out and not just that I can't believe they were complaining about each other about using pink nail polish. I think this was a really really really good episode. I loved to see what new new york looked like if everyone was the oposite of what they were in the episodes that we are used to.

I think that Amy looked quite good with brown hair. But you really can't have Fry with black hair it just looks weird. But Leela looks quite good with orange hair but not as good as she does when she has purple hair.

And i really liked the twist that in that world Fry and Leela were married! 5/5 epeisode

FARNSWORTH 2:oh you'd like to get back to your evil universe wouldn't you, and destroy your box with our universe inside it.
FARNSWORTH: nonsense, i would never do such a thing, unless you were already planning to do that.
FARNSWORTH 2:say wha!
FARNSWORTH:you heard me!

BENDER: our universe is doooooomed!
BOTH BENDERS: doooooooooooooooomed!

HIPPIE FARNSWORTH: dude, there's a universe in all of us (walks up to farnsworth and puts a flower on box)
FARNSWORTH: GET A JOB!

LEELA: the idiots have the box!
ZOIDBERG: (in dignified tone) i think she means you (looking at other zoidberg)

FARNSWORTH: we still have one proposterously slim hope.
AMY: is it some kind of hairspray?
FARNSWORTH: nooo! we must attempt to make another box with our universe inside it. doi!
(the professor switches on the box machine as lots of blue boxes pop out)
BOTH FARNSWORTHS: whuuuu! waaaa! whuwhuwhu! whuauauau!

FARNSWORTH: hermes don't press that button! (long pause)
HERMES: mmm okay.

Best episode so far. Watched it blazed and ... wow ... the whole idea, the story, the setting ... holy crap: THE SKY!! Amazing ... if the DVD movies turn out to be just half as brilliant, I'd be more than satisfied.

This episode is classic Fururama and is the reason why we all watch it, the wit and intellect that goes into every futurama episode is clearly illustrated here and unlike the Simpsons does not follow those mundane predicatable plots that every mug can pick up!

Thumbs up for this episode and futurama in general and too bad the execs at Fox are clueless as too a good thing!!

I wish there was more Futurama and Duckman lolzz!!!!!!!!!

This is one of my favourite episodes! I wish it could've been longer! I like the coin-flip universe a lot, as well as the hippie universe. I wish they had shown the leprachaun universe and the pirate universe. I didn't care as much for blind universe, robot universe, or bobblehead universe. The other universes should be re-visited, though.

Wow! Wonderful! i loved this part:
Leela 1: And a few months later he presented me with a dimons scrunchy and we were married."
Fry: "That's funny, a few years later I got beaten up at a Neil Dimond concert by a guy NAMED Scrunchy."
I couldn't contain my laughter and I burst. It sounded kinda like: PHHRRTTaaaaHAAHAHAHAHAheheHA! great job! the only thing is that the reset button was pushed again and we never find out how Fry and Leela's date went!!! But a great episode and EVERYBODY should know of it!

For my money, this is the funniest episode of the show. It features a great and sci-fi heavy plot, and the gags are both non-stop and fantastic. There's even a bit of Fry/Leela in there for the romantic in us all.

This is the number 1 most popular episode on the website. That being said, I expected it to be hilarious. It didn't live up to the expectations. The Fry and Leela story clearly should've been the focus of the episode, but it fell through the cracks. This made the very end seem forced. Also, the pacing was bad: they held out the beginning too long, forcing the best part, the multiple hundreds of universes, to be condensed. I wish it hadn't been: it was the best part of the episode. On whole, this episode isn't very good.
