Best on this season. Some Big Lipped Alligator Moments (or Big Shoed Hermes Moments, as Kryten coined) like the circusitus jokes, but otherwise, a great episode. 9/10 or 5/5.

I see someone loves the Nostalgia Chick as muc has me. This episode was packed with in jokes right from the get-go. A lot of great jokes in this episode, but once the relationship started, the jokes got less and less. Bender was the only hits past the 14 mark. I think they worried too much about the message (plus, this episode is from the guy who wrote BEND HER, one of the weaker episodes for me) Also, you knew how it was going to end before they even got to it. Still, it had plenty of good jokes, a fun cameo by both Roberto and George Takei, and Phil Lamarr is always hysterical as Preacherbot.

There were some pacing issues in the first and second acts, but the third act was solid. Loved all the cameo's (Especially hedonismbot), and the plot was solid. Maybe this episode will grow on me. Oh, and btw, I'm glad people here check out ThatGuyWithTheGlasses :D

Well, it was great to see some favorite faces: Roberto, Morbo, Hedonism Bot, George Takei...and visually it was quite well done. However, I felt the writing was weak. The 'circusitis' gag fell flat for me. The end was highly predictable. Aside from the cameos and a few good one liners this is the weakest episode yet of the new season.

From next weeks preview it looks like maybe we'll have an episode where the main setting isn't New New York and they have some good ole fashioned Adventures.

Let's hope so.

First stinker of the season, I'd say. It wasn't awful, but the second half of the episode seemed rushed and the social commentary seemed forced. Farnsworth's reason for opposing robosexual marriage didn't sit right with me, either. There were some funny moments, but not enough to redeem the episode from the wrath of my "average" rating.

omg it wasn't enough that they ruin fry and leelas relationship they ruin kip and amys too everything about futurama is all sex jokes now with no character depth and leaves me feeling very little empathy towards the characters I use to love. I dont mean to whine or sound mushy but its ridiculous?? what happened to the clever storys where the crew went on delivery missions? what happened to the credibility? its a slap in the face for the fans that have been watching since episode one the whole series just appeals to leechs that started watching the show when it hit adult swim.. seriously did they hire the writers from family guy or did they hire jenna jameson's director to write for the show .. either way futurama's integrity has been raped repeatedly

Best one this season, by far. Actually seemed like...well, like Futurama. "Ghost-Horse" was a great joke; there was also a SERIOUS nerds-only reference in the scene where Preacher-Bot is talking to the robots he is about to, *ahem*, RECTIFY. Very Futurama-like. I think they went a little past "controversial" and into "preachy" what with the political message and all, but what the hell. Liked it.

It feels like the show is near back in its old groove, but it isn't there yet. This episode was a bit strange, but that's what Futura,a is. But none the less, Futurama is still funny even when being put through such a journey as this. Some people don't seem to get yet that after many years of the show floating around channels and the dvd movies, that it's hard to keep the exact feel the show used to have. I for one, am thankful the show is back and happy with any episode that comes out next.

Didn't seem too preachy for me and had a lot of funny moments. As for Kif and Amy, they did get back together but wouldn't never changing anything also get dull? I mean fry and amy were together at one point and it didn't ruin anything. Liked seeing Roberto, ever kill a man with a sock?

Thats it, Futurama is dead. This was the worst episode to date. Episodes 1 and 2 were terrible, but Episode 3 seemed that it would be futurama's redemption. But sadly Proposition Infinity was a new low. I'm sorry to say this cause i love Futurama, but this new season is awful

A solid episode, but not fantastic. The existence of some sense of continuity in the show here is good to see--they actually bothered to create a pretext to break up Kif and Amy, and one to get them back together. Although, the whole show is kind of non-continuous with the premise of "I Dated A Robot." I think that's a good example of why was good but not great: it would have added a nice additional meta-level about cultural change to the story, as well as being an awesome call-back joke, to have had FRY say something like, "Oh No! Didn't you see the film in hygiene class?" and have someone else make a remark about it being a dated viewpoint (like most of those awful shorts that whole thing was based on are regarded today).

Likewise, are you really going to tell me that Bender wouldn't marry Amy anyway, just to immediately divorce her and get a big settlement from her rich parents? The joke could have been both that and the monogamy thing, and been perfectly in keeping with Bender's character.

So, yeah, good, but in need of additional punching up to be great.

While the pacing was a bit too slow to hit the Futurama formula bulls-eye, this was a solid episode with humor that resembled the futurama of old more then any other episode this season. It seems they are almost there, but just not quite. If it takes a season, then so be it.

I thought this ep was well written, more like 'classic' Futurama. I loved all the character call-backs, especially the hyper-chicken & tv news team. I also enjoyed that George Takai was on w/o the sole purpose to make a direct Star Trek reference (although his line about Shatner was hilarious), kinda like Nichele Nichols in "Anthology of Interest I."

Initially I didn't care for the quick break up & make up btwn Amy and Kif, but it grew on me after a second viewing w/in the context of the ep.

The subject was topical for the present (2010) and I thought their use of it was appropriate for 3010. I didn't think it was any more preachy then "Bend Her," "Bender Should Not be Allowed on TV," or "Hell is for Other Robots" - and I enjoyed all those eps too.

Overall a good ep.

This episode had issues with pacing, usually futurama is generally fast paced, but for some reason this episode felt very disjointed - too much exposition, especially in regard to destroying Amy's relationship with Kif, building up one with Bender and then ending that one to return things to normal. The show seems to have lost the feel it once had, which is strange because it was never an issue in the movies. The voice acting still sounds off, and this episode was pretty average in its writing. Favourite gag was cutting Zoidberg open with the diamond. There is still hope, and hopefully they're just getting back into the swing of things, but I was expecting alot more. 3/5

Pretty good episode, but not top-shelf. Some great standalone moments, like the Hedonismbot hot dog bit. Pacing was better than in the movies and the first two eps of this season, but nowhere near as good as most of seasons 3-4.

Also, the political message seemed a little bit contrived and forced, and it didn't dovetail in very well with "I Dated a Robot", which took a somewhat more negative view of robosexuality. These eps only work well when it seems like nobody learned their lesson in the end, so that it doesn't feel like you were bludgeoned over the head with the message. Less advocacy, more funny, please!

It was pretty good. There were alot of decent jokes, many more like old Futurama's style, though the episode's ending felt a little rushed with Farnsworth's reasonings, and I'm glad Bender broke up with Amy (I was a little worried it might have continued past the episode). It was nice seeing Roberto and Hyper-Chicken in there, plus Preacherbot came out with some good moments as well. One joke that didn't work too well for me was Hermes' Circusitis, but there were more hits than misses, and this one felt more like Futurama than the previous 2 episodes up to this point. Overall, not perfect, but at least a solid 4/5 from me on the first viewing.

Turned it off part way through, like the eyephone episode. So terrible, topical plot, everything forced. To make up for their lack of effort to be funny they bring back some nostalgic faces (chicken, roberto etc) and generally make silly one liner quips. Just like all the new season, absolutely terrible.

It makes me sick to my stomach when people say they're nearly back to old futurama, in what sense? There is no story or character depth in these new episodes and why has Fry taken a back seat? Zoidberg, hermes and amy doing work with fry, leela and bender? since when did that happen?

It's like the writers aren't trying to be interesting anymore, rather just sitting around the writing table and thinking of funny jokes and shoving them in there. Having read the plot outlines for the upcoming episodes I am likely to be forced to watch my box set to keep reminding myself that I love futurama.

Bender is funny as can be... he has been carrying the show so far...bender seems to be the first character to hit stride & be true to the original series. Let's hope the rest of the gang rounds into shape soon. Poor kiff, amy w zapp now bender....but she always loves Kiff....It shows how much us fans care about these characters that we either love or hate when these "big" "huge" dramatic happenings challenge our preception of the show....futurama is back be thankful

The first episode of the new season that feels like one from the original run. Not as good as Rebirth, but very entertaining and certainly funny enough to make up for some iffy characterisations. A huge step in the right direction and whilst I'm only giving it a 3/5, I feel that I should point out that this is on a Futurama-only-scale with 1/5 being the worst episode of the show and 5/5 being the best. If I were to rate it on overall TV standards, every episode would get 4 or 5/5 and this particular episode would be a 4.

This was a very good episode in my opinion. I'm glad to see that it was a relatively classy episode where the writers didn't resort to gross-out humor. I will agree with some of the previous reviews, however, when I say that next weeks episode should be nice where the main action doesn't take place in New New York.

Honestly I would like to see some Futurama action in space with a nice original plot, but I think the writers will get there eventually. I think they are getting their form back and that is very good to see. Also it was good that Kif and Amy got back together.

I would give it an 8.2 out of 10, but I rounded up for the "out of 5" rating :)

Futurama pulled a family guy to say the least. I think this episode will dictate the rest of the season, full of sex jokes, terrible plot, characters are inconsisten, jokes are equal to the ones you find on promotional popsicle sticks, and the worst part is i think this is what people watch these days so the old Futurama never had a chance. This was the first time i watched an episode of Futurama and felt ashamed to be watching it. Who ever wrot this episode needs to get fired imediately.

I just want to ask what happened to the adventures they used to have? The whole concept of a delivery crew is gone! I really hope that the writers will listen to the criticism of the people who used to watch this show when it was good, and not the new idiots who prefer a cheep sex joke to an actual good show.

WORST EPISODE EVER

We've seen this stuff done a million times already, even in animated shows. Far too much of the episode felt preachy and written to make a thinly-veiled point, and the characterizations (Amy in particular) suffered for it. Besides, we've all seen many of these scenes before; conversion camp, someone anti-whatever who's secretly in the closet, gay pride-type jokes.

The saving grace was the humor, which pretty much delivered like Futurama should. Bender is possibly the show's funniest character at this point, and I got a kick out of his "Exhibit A" diamond and homemade shiv.

Otherwise, too flimsy and topical--it's all been done.

This episode made me feel like Futurama is back. Background jokes, recurring minor characters and the humor was spot on. I was thrilled to see the she-male bot from "Fry and the Slurm Factory". Joke-wise, best episode of the season so far, but the plot was risky, and representing one side of the thinly-disguised homosexual debate with a repressed robosexual strawman made it clear what side the writers were pushing. Unfortunately, there were no throw-backs to previous robosexual episodes (I Dated a Robot), which could have made this episode a lot more cohesive.

Worst of the entire series. Falling into the Family Guy trap of preachy, in your face liberalism and Christian-bashing, instead of the gentle route that Futurama usually takes with its environment movement.

Glad Bender remained true to character at the end, and also glad Kiff and Amy got back together.

I have bought every Futurama season on DVD, but this episode will compel me not to buy this one. I will vote with my money to not support this kind of episode.

I'm pleased to see that SOME people liked the writing in this episode, because I sure didn't. There were a few great jokes thrown in, and I did laugh at those, but Futurama isn't about one-liners (at least, it's not JUST about one-liners...). This has been true all season long---in fact, it's been that way since "The Beast with a Billion Backs" came out. All the character development of the first four production seasons plus the first movie has been tossed out in favor of juvenile humor and fickle, shallow characters. The new writers should be ashamed of themselves: anyone can write unrelated jokes that don't connect to anything; what made Futurama the best show EVER was the fact that the jokes evolved over time, made sense with the characters' personalities, and even formed a plot. Speaking of plot, has there actually BEEN a plot in any of the new episodes? If so, it wasn't in evidence.

I keep reading that people did not like killer app. I think its cuz people got offended, cuz aside from the susan boyle joke(did not like at all), it had very good writing and it felt like futurama.
I personally don't have an iphone or smart phone and thought it captured how ridiculous people are with their phones and i laughed and laughed :D.
This episode however, was worse than in da gadda da leela... it is the worst futurama episode i've ever seen(seen em all, including the one made from the video game)...I've watched the show since day one... and this makes me sad.

While the episode was enjoyable, it was far from perfect. We have seen Futurama run with the idea of human/robot relationships before, and seeing as there is history on the subject (season 3, I dated a Robot) they ignored everything which was set up back then (everyone being appalled at a human/robot relationship) and fell into wanting it legal too easily.

The writers need to remember they are doing a science fiction cartoon, and get back to the good stuff again. So far this new season has just been the Simpsons with a few tacked on sci-fi referances, not a true sci-fi cartoon like it used to be.

I know I'm being harsh, but what do you expect from a loyal science fiction geek?

This episode just didn't do it for me. It was an awkward combination of "too preachy" and "too raunchy." I love Futurama, but it seems like they're depending too much on sex jokes and social issues this season. That kind of stuff is OK as part of the show, but shouldn't be the whole darned thing. Be thrilled that it's back. I have no idea where some of you people are coming from with "Oh, they've destroyed all my fond memories of the series...". Okay, this is it! The Professor, the "immoral crackpot", suddenly caring about minorities, almost starting to cry for the injustice he caused in the world? Kif splitting up with Amy for a completely ill-constructed reason, just to be able to make the robosexual relationship "all-main-character", while ignoring that everything about it feels out of place? Ripping of another storyline from earlier episodes (i dated a robot) and making no additional point in the process? What the hell? I mean, why bring something back and still call it futurama, when everything they're trying to do is topple everything that it was all about? I don't get it. It doesn't feel like home anymore, and it's not funny either, besides the "haha"-jokes, whose laughs come out of me somewhat like a reflex and not out of a deeper understanding like they used to. Horrible, horrible, that's all I can say.

This ep in combination with Killer Apps (which I did like better) have given me the hope that the series will return fully to the former glory that I thought was doomed on seeing ep 2. We were treated with recurring characters and some quality jokes. true it has gained some addition Family Guy style humour but so did BWABB. And yes it was preachy but so have other episodes of the series to a degree.

And for those that are discussing the fact that this comes some of the same ground as I Dated a Robot there are a few key differences. One was that all of the robot seen in that ep (apart from the thing at the end with Bender and Lucy Lu's head) were robots programed with celebrity personalities not robots like Bender that are distinct persons, that is why I had no problem with the differences of opinion of the characters.

I find it hard to know what to make of this episode. On one had I really liked a lot of the jokes, and the fact it made the future interesting again with little things like the drinks with thunderstorms over them amongst other stuff. What I didn't like was how forced the Amy/Kif break-up seemed at the beginning, and also how they just casually got back together again at the end. The robosexual storyline was good, and made for some interesting scenes, but I didn't like how the professor told that story of when he was with that girl, which was ok until the twist that it was a robot. That was just ridiculous and took a huge dump on I Dated A Robot. Also I found myself asking why we hadn't ever heard about this long dating part of the professors life before. I thought it was Mom who was his love in the earlier science years...

The episode also suffered with lack of Fry and Leela, although I do like Amy so it's not so bad. Roberto is always welcome too, is is Fatbot, but the stuff with Preacherbot and the robots making out with fake humans on the grass was a real drag, and the clown stuff with Hermes, no, just no.

3/5 overall for the humour, and for the fact that its quite memorable, but too many flaws to be any higher....

The only good bit of this episode: Hermes clown thing. The rest: untter rubish. I may not watch anymore as this epidode has shown that the 'new' Futurama is not like it used to be and really pointless. Nothing even happened in this episode, it went back to the start at the end and really made no sense what so ever.

The episode was okay but I was expecting some sort of continuity with "I Dated A Robot" which just wasn't there. One of the things I always liked about Futurama was that it was good at sticking to its continuity. I felt that the script toed the line a lot with that.

While there were many good one-liners, I feel that Futurama's strengths were always with creative storylines and visual gags.

Very good! They've improved a lot since last ep.
I totally agree with comment N 17:

"Likewise, are you really going to tell me that Bender wouldn't marry Amy anyway, just to immediately divorce her and get a big settlement from her rich parents? The joke could have been both that and the monogamy thing, and been perfectly in keeping with Bender's character.

So, yeah, good, but in need of additional punching up to be great."

Well, I have to admit that after 4 episodes of the new season, I'm kinda finding my hopes dashed. I was hoping that the new episodes would have character development and adventure and creativity and new craziness, but I'm instead getting constant sex jokes and social commentary that's as subtle as a punch in the face (and about as thoughtful).

I'm growing weary of sex jokes, lowbrow humor and myopic social commentary; many elementary school kids think penis jokes are always hilarious and blindly bashing the social order "makes people think". Many elementary school kids are wrong.

Skilled writers and talented comedians can get their content off the bottom shelf and deliver some intelligent or clever writing without needing to make constant sexual references or force feed me their thoughtless reflections on social issues.

I wasn't a fan of this episode at all, but here's hoping that episode 5 isn't such a dud.

Something has definitely been lost in the transition to Comedy Central. One of the reasons I liked the show was because it took a different approach than alot of other "adult" cartoons in that they didn't have to resort to the really crude jokes to be funny. I also wish they would go back to having more politically neutral episodes. That being said, this was probably the best new episode in my opinion. The Bender/Amy dynamic was a little strange, but it definitely had the the classic Futurama feel to it.

I thought the stand-alone jokes were as good as back in the day, but the plot was awful. Since when does Futurama start moralizing? And why do they suddenly decide that gay marriage (the issue they are parodying) is as simple as "the only reason I'm against you is that I'm a closet case". Futurama was about making fun of the issues themselves, not the position the writer disagrees with...

However, the jokes were absolutely wonderful, from the dumb ones (It is now 4:00 am!) to the clever ones (look a single mother, let's get her)

Well, I haven't decided quite what to make of this new season. Amy and Kif's breakup, you felt was forced, apart from the end of "Beast With A Billion Backs" they've always been so much in love. It was like, out of the blue, she hated everything about him. Bender's motivation seemed odd, wasn't he just calling human/robot unions an "attrosamacy" in "So I Dated..." Then it turned into a tollerance parable.

Don't get me wrong, I liked the funny parts, and, any time we get to see Amy naked is fine by me.

I agree with the other reviewer who said the real Bender would have married her, then got one of those quickie Neptunian divorces and taken her to the cleaners!

Great vibe in this ep! . . the thing that lets Futurama be more "cartoony" than The Simpsons is being set in a wide-open future . . that's why Hermes' circucitis worked for me but without the overboard grossness of the last ep's goat which was also "cartoony" in its vile way.

Futurama has been preachy before (the ep others mentioned that includes "I dated a robot!" was actually "Don't steal creative works," right?) . . so I don't mind that.

Loved "Forbidden Planet Hollywood," the tempest-in-a-martini glass thundercloud drinks, that beautiful wide-screen HD view of the New Brooklyn Bridge, "I guess we should have waited in the ship," "no brokebacking," "hopes . . deleted" "escape-proof workshop," esqwired magazine, "oh, I'm just glad I didn't live to see this day . . wait a second . . no-o-o-o!" "I'm just a pre-op transformer"

The way this episode would have felt more like the first Futurama seasons would be to have a celebrity head with some great funny lines . . what? It did? . . Hurray!

It was a decent episode but I do agree with some reviews that it was bit uneven. The Kif and Amy stuff did seem rather forced, as Amy always seemed to find Kif endearing previously (aside from Zap's pointers that led him astray lol). Amy did have sort of checked histories with guys prior to that though.

Anyways, it would have been nice to have some continuity with "I Dated A Robot" as others suggested. I guess they wouldn't have been able to the allegory properly if it had been say the real Lucy Liu's head or something. Fry should have at least called Bender out on his hypocrisy, since he was so adamantly against Fry's involvement with a robot before.

Futurama is the greatest show of all time and i'm a big fan but thsi episode isn't up to the standards that the first 4 seasons set. the closest episode to this standard was probably the killer app except for the boyle thing which was a bit family guy-ish. futurama use to be about the crew making deliveries or going on wacky adventures not sleazy jokes and bad storylines. This episode lacks what futurama is about and the show still doesn't feel just right. They seem to be trying to revive old episodes and ideas. Come on. who hasnt been with amy now we've had fry, zapp, kiff, and now bender. who is next zoidberg. We get it! You are on cable now, so you can do "sex jokes" till your blue in the face. MOVE ON! Don't get me wrong, I love a good sex joke, but I love futurama for the intelligence in the jokes, sexual or otherwise. Between the second movie, the second episode of this season and this last episode I am really getting tired of the lack of intellect raping Futurama just to prove they can now do sex jokes. Leave that crap to Family Guy. I expect more from you!

However, the other jokes have been well written, expertly executed, and just plain fun. Let's have more of that.

I thought this was the weakest of the new episodes and i don't feel like the show is back to the old futurama quite yet. I also thought it was strange that everyone freaked out when fry started dating robo-lucy liu (haha Robo-gonorrhea the noisy killer) but everyone was up in arms to defend bender and amy. they didn't make one reference to this contradiction at all. the only really good part was the reference to "But I'm A Cheerleader" with preacherbot. best of the season to date yet far, far from the movies and original seasons. The humor was even partially tied to the story. The characters still don't feel the same. Especially kif. I thought that it was a good episode, though as some have mentioned, it does seem to contradict "I dated a Robot"

The upcoming episodes sounds a bit more adventurous, and I am looking forward to them.

I have to say though, the writers are getting very close to having total disregard for the show's continuity. I realize that as more and more seasons are made, it must get harder for them to keep track of past episodes, but they really need to make an effort to keep continuity in check.

I realize that Matt and David do not write most of the episodes, but at the of the day, I'm pretty sure that they have the final word on scripts. I still can't believe that they let the Susan boil joke in "Killer App" pass. Maybe they were just excited to have Craig Ferguson do a voice.

I like the updating of the new season, but I also would like more character depth. Of course, one of my favorite things about Futurama is it can peak your moods and then kill them. Such as the dog waiting for Fry, the first movie was both a great reference to that episode as well as closure knowing that the dog didn't starve to death. I like the usage of modern things like the Iphone and Prop 8, but it seems a little too liberal, and I would rather have more jokes that feel right with the characters. This episode showed too much affection from Bender, and although I liked the end, I would rather Bender be the cold tin can that he's been. Also, I love the usage of Zoidberg in recent episodes, but would like some more Zapp and Professor. Otherwise, just as great as ever!

Pointing out that the union of ghosts and horses is accepted in "Futurama" society reminded me that, even in our real world, no one seems to have a problem with an adult ghost having a horse or even a unicorn as a partner.
That said, the cheaplaffinessness of the ghost booing during the rally made me fall out of my chair, hit my head, and die.

I am now a ghost (writer) and I find the joke mildly offensive... but still somewhat funny... in a spectral, cheaplaffinous kinda way.

I've been reasonably pleased with the new season, other than the final act of episode 2. But following this episode I'm more than pleased-I'm ecstatic.

While the ending was a tad rushed, the overall flow of the episode felt more natural than the previous two, and the jokes hit more than they missed. Specifically, the one liners are in full force. This is going to be one quotable episode.

The only downside to the storytelling has to do with the complete absence of Kif between, oh, minutes 5 to 20. Just some sort of reaction to see how he was taking the news of Amy being engaged would have made the ending more believable. Otherwise, perfect.

A more faithful recreation of the structure of the old Futurama, held back by a slightly underwhelming story.

The zanier humour has been turned down a little but not completely and the sketch style of some of the earlier scenes and their bearing little relation to the main plot of the episode are a little reminiscent of where the Simpsons started to go wrong. They're certainly not too far down that path to turn back, though, and the structure of the plot and writing style for rest of the episode was at least in the vein some of the more fondly remembered episodes, even if the ideas presented missed the mark a little.

Once again, some great jokes, a few interesting ideas and a little more promise.

Futurama hasn't returned yet...but it gets closer every week.

I'll give this episode one thing, it didn't come off preachy. It unfortunately, didn't come off funny or clever either.

The 'more closely related to a sea cucumber...not where it counts' one liner made me groan. Worthy of a Rodney Dangerfield one liner that one was. I've never groaned during a Futurama episode before this current season run. Now I've done it at least once per episode except the pilot (V-Giny, Leela & Zap squelchy, Susan Boil, Sea Cucumber).

Here's hoping they get back to the clever, well written, hilarious writing with excellent character development that made the original run so good and created fans out of all of us. I have faith in X. Cohen and the show. I really hope they can return to 'glory'.

ok episode...

well she had to eventually sleep with bender right?

but bender didn't go into a chorus of song when the magnet hit him.

Consistency has been lost... and that episode is a looong time ago. Beck and Bender singing epi. sorry i forgot the title, but that was an entire episode on that one point. silly to be neglected.

patchwork of ok mediocre fun.

This episode was not bad. It deserves better then the grade it has. Like every futurama episode it improves with repeated viewing. 4/5

There were some funny moments in this video, or some that should have been funny that I didn't laugh at. I'm not a fan of seeing Amy suddenly become the "out of closet" slut since the movies, slutty enough to go with a robot because Kip is not badass enough. Has a great ending, but the whole theme of the episode doesn't fit Futurama - legalizing robosexual marriages?? Not nearly as bad as the last two episodes, but I want the Futurama I remember back.

Interestingly mixed reviews here. I for one thought this episode was excellent.

I agree, The Kif/Amy breakup seemed a little forced. The professor's reasons for being anti-robosexual are a little bit of a stretch as well. However, I didn't feel like the characters were broken to exploit a contrived plotline, as I did with the bizzare Leela/Zapp dynamic that was invented for In-A-Gadda-Da-Leela. That was tiresome, and I didn't believe it. I can buy this.
More importantly, the humor in this episode hits the mark perfectly for me. The scene where the crew are gathering a tornado is an exceptional showcase of comedic buildup and timing.
Also, what don't people like about Circusitis? Maybe it's just me, but I think that's a brilliantly absurd portmanteau.

5/5 or 9/10.

I totally agree with comments by The Drizzle and Fungo regarding the negatives of this series, but I see a glimmer of hope in this episode (hope that the series may one day return to the Futurama I love), which is why I gave it a 3.

The ruination of this episode is the Amy/Kif breakup. Not because it happened, but it was written so damned poorly. Amy and Kif breaking up is quite conceivable with Amy being a promiscuous girl who likes "the wrong sort" and Kif being a spineless wimp...but...it was so so flimsy. It's been long established that Amy accepts Kifs wimpiness, heck she even had (sort of) kids with him, so the fact that she would walk out on him without any second thoughts due to a weak argument, is just weak. Also Kif IS a wimp. It's been established in many episodes that he is not a rough and tumble guy, so the whole bad boy Kif at the end is not quite right. Amy felt guilty about sleeping with Zapp in The beast with a billion backs, so why she is completely devoid of morality and sensitivity towards Kif in this one is just bizarre.

If I could talk to the writers I'd say: Go back to putting the characters we know and love into unusual situations and then seeing how they react - rather than completely changing who the characters are so that the watchers feel a disconnection from them.

I really loved this one and Kiff and Amy got back together so I don't understand the complaints.
I mean you know Amy has probably slept with a lot of dudes, why not Bender as well baby!

This was definitely an improvement over Attack of the Killer App (which isn't saying much) but I wasn't a big fan of this one. To me, the issues of this episode have nothing to do with its humor. The new season has really favored episodes that revolve around social issues, but I never thought that that would be a good idea. It just makes the stories feel forced and unnecessary, almost like the writers are trying to preach to us while throwing in a few jokes here and there. Social references are fine in some cases, but they should be subtle and shouldn't be the center of an episode. The old Futurama never made such blatant attempts to be in tune with the social problems of today's world. Besides, this episode coupled with 'I Dated a Robot' really makes no sense. Suddenly they're okay with the whole idea of robot-human marriages?

If they made a "Robot Devil obsessed not in a romantic way with Fry(and maybe in a slight robosexual way)" episode instead of this "Amy/Bender nonsense thing that came out mainly of 'Antology of Interest'", there wouldn't have been so many personality changes.
(You can't tell that Beelzebot isn't obsessed with Fry.
In every episode featuring him, except from "Hell is other robots", he tried to harm Fry.)

BOO! Prehaps the worst episode ever of Futurama! Kif is my favorite character! Why did he break up with Amy? Will we ever see him again? I'm glad they did something to support legalizing homosexual marraige (which I highly agree with) but they chose the worst possible way to do it. The only line I liked was: "The only lies worth believing are the ones in the bible!" Overall, an epic fail.

I agree with Lamusiqe13. I support gay marriage, but the writers need to find a more subtle and entertaining way to express it.

I've already written a review, but I just wanted to get some free advertising. For all of you who are mad that Amy and Kif broke up, I've written a fan fiction episode tenativley called Kif Gets Kicked Up Another Notch. That'll satisfy you.

Finally we are picking up the pace. Back to abundant side jokes that carry the main story forwards. It is still a bit mushy in places, but there are rarely episodes that aren't.

Good to see a lot of the old faces again, and most of all Hermes' condition is great. The first of the new episodes that made me laugh out loud, while the others just provoked some smiles.

Last but not least, we get Failing Fungus back.

Cheers

Note to tv writers. If you want your episode to make a social statement of some sort, you must work VERY hard to make the message subtle. Otherwise you come off as a preachy, annoying mess of a television program. This episode could have been written for any show really. The 'robosexual' part was an attempt to make in 'futuristic', but it still came off as generic modern garbage. Less preachy crap, more Futurama!

Down there with "A Leela of Her Own" as my least favorite episode of the series. A terrible satire on a subject that's been done way better by everyone else in the decade before it. For a show that prides itself on being clever, this blatant, in-your-face social message of strawman characters and a silly story feels like something ripped out of Family Guy. And I AGREE with the episode's message, for crying out loud. Futurama rarely got political pre-cancellation, and its attempts since have been pretty mediocre, but none more so than this.

There were some good jokes in this episode but the main story seemed too preachy and contradicted many of the events in "I Dated a Robot". The first half was decent but the second half was too topical and heavy-handed. Futurama is best when it's being subtle.
