Thought this episode was funny throughout, had me rolling on a few of the one-liners. This season is picking up steam, getting better as it goes along.

Had no idea from the promos that it would a riff on The Da Vinci Code. Good gags even though saw some of them coming.

I am amazed this show can still be funny after all a thousand and two years!

I'd say decent episode. Things that bothered me was the science seemed to be unusually off this time, and you never know what happens to Bender and Leela after Fry and the Professor leave for the Vinci planet. But it was funny as always.

i really liked the episode. the plot was actually an homage to a classic trek episode, which is awesome.
i also liked the storyline between fry and the professor.

best episode of the season, imo.

This show is the best i've seen in my whole life. I must of watched every episode 15 times and it never gets old. Season 7 is so far the best (minus episode 1) and how do we get a season 8? If i won the lotto, all my money would go to produce more episodes

For all of the comments about "WTF, what happened to them being a delivery company?" Hermes had a funny comment or question. I hope we all caught that.

It is better than the beginning episodes, but I still feel like something is missing. Some of the jokes do get me smiling/laughing...but no hardy LMAO moments.

I am very disappointed with Leela so far this season...she doesn't seem to have the depth that she had before. Of course, she evolved over numerous seasons. But from the episodes so far, she seems like a different character with the same voice. I hope there will be more attention there in the writing.

I give it a 3...not the worst, but a lot of room to improve.

Easily the Best Episode of the Summer!! This was a great episode. I loved the Indiana Jones-esque style of this episode and didn't see the third act coming. Also glad the focus went back to Fry after so many episodes focusing on the other cast members. I also can't remember an episode of Futurama that primarily focused on Fry and the Professor. The jokes were fewer and far between in this, but the overall sci-fi story was excellent. BEST SHOW OF THE SUMMER!!

How can anyone complain about this episode? Nerds got their humor: what other show has a joke that includes the Higgs-Boson? People who care about the actual story got their brilliant message: there is always someone smarter than you. Even casual fans got their pop-culture reference (Da Vinci Code parody.) Plus, some classic Morbo moments. All around great episode. People who complain about this one clearly never watched the original series.

A solid episode. There were some gags that didn't sit well with me (Fry repeatedly referring to Da Vinci as Leonardo DiCaprio got old fast), but the story between Fry and Professor (and that resolution) was really great. I can forgive some so-so jokes for what was a really nice, resonant story.

The best episode this season. Finally, I feel like this wonderful show is back to where it should be. This is the first episode all season to truly feel like one good cohesive futurama episode. It had a great story, good jokes throughout and the voice acting seemed spot on this time around. Not the best episode ever, but the best all season. The show is moving in a good direction.

After the last four episodes of futurama awkwardness it is good to see the show is back on the right track. Well written, characters are starting to feel like themselves again, one liners plentiful. Still feels a little to much like the simpsons to me, but what better cartoon to be confused with. Thumbs up

Ooo wow, now they're centering around the Da'vinci code reference. What are they gonna do next episode? Center around a 2012 Doomsday reference? Is the world going to end in 3012 according to the Space-Mayan calendar now?

More inconsistencies as usual. Fry shouldn't be this dumb.. he never was this bad before.

The only thing I thought was good was they actually admitted that they don't go on delivery missions anymore. Stupid crap all the way!

Hermes: "Aren't we suppose to be a delivery company?"

Me: "Isn't this show suppose to funny?"

Another Good one! Possibly the best one of the season so far! I liked the fact Hermes brought up "Didn't we used to deliver packages?" So atleast the show writers themselves have noticed that the crew has yet to make a delivery this season. That shows that they will get back to the deliveries. But back on the subject of the episode, it had great jokes like the eating rocks and DaVinci's intelligence compaired to everyone else on his planet. And that idea alone about DaVinci being from another planet was hilarious. This episode was a winner!

Glad to see that even doubters and dissenters of the new season are beginning to warm up to it. You see, all the series needed was a little time to find its right groove again. Of course, it's too early to tell where this will take the duration of the series, but Futurama isn't quite dead yet. Let's hope there will be enough to sustain its life even longer. If not, pray the creators really will settle things nicely enough to give the right kind of closure to the most dedicated of fans.

I thought it was very good. The first two acts were really funny, though the final act not so much for me. I loved the appearance of The Space Pope (that made me lol) and how Fry and the Professor related to each other, I thought that was good character development. Though the rest of the crew take a backseat on the final 3rd of the episode, I felt once they got on that planet it got a little too stupid, and Fry constantly reminding us of DiCaprio got a little old (it only works as a one-time joke).

I thought Da Vinci being stupid was a fairly good twist, though that bully character picking on him kind of annoyed me and caused me to cringe a little. Did anyone else fee Fry a little too dumb in this episode, and 1 week on the Da Vinci "Space" craft without food and water? I know, minor nitpicking, though overall, this episode had alot of decent laughs, a good plot, and although slightly letdown by its final act once again for me, I felt this episode so far might be the closest we've had to the original run so far. My favourite quote was probably the one from Hermes about the Planet Express company. I'll give this episode a solid 4/5.

Futurama is truly back, what with Proposition Infinity last week, and the Duh-Vinci Code this week.
Lots of fun quotes, especially from Hermes. An odd plot, and leaving the rest of the crew except for Fry and Farnsworth feels different, but they managed to pull it off.
I find it hilarious that Fry actually hammers nails with nails xD

Pretty good episode. Probably the best of the season, just by a hair, mainly carried by the plot itself rather than the knee-slappers (although I chuckled at Bender getting his arm ripped off). Still not on par with the best of the classic episodes, though. Also, did this ep seem really short?

Certainly the best of this season. Some great gags (Einstein is a hard name to remember) and wonderful references. Also, I'm really happy that this episode brought back some of the wonder to the futurama universe, the mousetrap and the animation on Planet Vinci were awesome. What makes this one truly stand above the other episodes of this season for me was the swelling of pride I felt when Fry said "I've got a single nail and another nail to nail it in with" which was the first time this season has reminded me of the old great episodes.

I thought this was a pretty good epsiode. Definitely better than the first 4 this season. Fry was back to his old self again, and the crew went on an "adventure". Although there were scenes I didnt get. "Mile deep", and Leela not visiting Fry in the hospital?

However, overall I liked it. I hope futurama continues in this direction.. more character development instead of that social commentary stuff that "app" and "prop" had.

to "#45 by Jfroneb1" the 'mile deep' club was referring to 'the mile high club' which is a club you belong to if you have sex with someone in an aeroplane for example since you are a metaphorical mile above the ground (most times more) and since they where far under ground he was asking her if she wanted to join the "mile deep" club...

Anyway this episode was awesome. And I think that they have opted to ignore the relationship conclusions they made between fyr and leela to get back to that cat and mouse game they had before end of the movies. they could however have acheived that in better ways.

Loved the episode.

The best episode of the season by far, in my opinion. This was a good example of how to do parody inoffensively: I didn't mind the (extremely) dated pop culture references because they were just a starting point for the overall plot.

Liked:
- People stayed in character

- There was a cohesive plot, with an actual story arc

- The writers didn't feel compelled to reference the Da Vinci Code excessively, and the Professor had a legitimate reason to be interested in Da Vinci

- The jokes were often clever (I was cool to the hammer/nail thing until I saw it referenced again at the end, quite well)

Problems:
- The writers continued a problem I had with the movies, which is that the jokes' timing seemed off. They appeared almost frantic, wtih too many jokes for the punchline to sink in. The show could use more editing, removing the sub-par efforts and letting the plot play out more easily. This was even more apparently when followed with the well-timed Roswell episode.

- The overall pacing seemed off, with the show unsure if it should go for a full-blown Da Vinci Code-style mystery or the planet plot. The result was that the exposition was rushed and the first half seemed to be strained so they could get to the "payoff" of the planet in the second half.

- Fry wasn't necessarily "too dumb", but the show insisted on beating us over the head with the idea. The game show was enough to bring up the subject, no need to make it overly obvious

These are relatively minor concerns compared with what the show got right... I'll be more than happy if it stays at this level.

Wow, I had pretty much written off new Futurama because of how mediocre episodes 3 and 4 were but this episode restored my faith in the Futurama reboot. Granted, it wasn't as good as Futurama in its prime but man, this was a funny episode. The writing is better and all I think they have to do is remove pop-culture references and sex humor and Futurama will be back on its feet again. Most of the Fry bashing didn't sit well with me because I don't think he's that dumb, but it was good to see the angry, money grubbing, jerky bender again. Cheers to the rest of the season, lets hope it is this good or even better.

This was a mad, mad, mad episode. The only glaring problem was that they tried to wrap up the plot too quickly. There is something definitely off about all of the new Futurama episodes. I just don't feel attached to the characters like I used to. And Fry keeps getting senselessly injured all the time - He is becoming Kenny from South Park. I think a lot of the atmosphere is missing aswell: There is less 3D, less original music performed by the orchestra and the cuts to different scenes are constantly rushed and poorly timed. They are barely managing to fit in a single plot line now - where they used to accommodate a B story in almost every show.
And what the hell were they eating on that Da Vinci spaceship for a month!?

I can't say I think this was a very good episode. Sure, it had a few funny moments, but overall I think the humor was a bit off. The writing was not at all as clever as it usually is and the episode as a whole didn't quite feel like Futurama (I blame the newcomers who wrote and directed this episode) Still, it's nice to see Futurama back on the air, and I think that, apart from this episode and the second one, Futurama is definitely back on form!

"And what the hell were they eating on that Da Vinci spaceship for a month!?"

They did explain that! When the professor hurt himself from punching Fry in the stomach, Fry sais: "Looks as eating rocks wasn't as dumb as you said". Granted that doesn't make much sense.

This episode was ok. Good for a season 6 episode. But Futurama is still far from being what it used to be.

Solid episode, very much like old school futurama. I liked Proposition Infinite better, BUT I can see how this would be a more popular episode by the majority of fans. The science jokes were brilliant and everyone was in character.

For anyone saying Fry wasn't this dumb before, REALLY? He's been shown this dumb many times and this episode was about how dumb he is, and how there's always someone smarter than you.

As for the people mindlessly giving this episode a 1 with no reasons, please go play in traffic. Thanks.

Average episode, with an average number of laughs. Almost like it was written by the members of the Neutral Planet. So far it sits about half way between the best and worst of the season.

In saying that, it was good enough to be the futurama we all love and enjoy.

If 'The Duh-Vinci Code' is any measure of progress - then it's a positive one. This episode is more akin to classic Futurama than any other episode of the season so far, and thusly a welcome sight.

While not up there among the best of past series, 'The Duh-Vinci Code' is consistently funny and balances low brow jokes with high brow far more successfully than the last few episodes have.

I look forward to the rest of this season if it follows in these footsteps.

could have fit in well with the original episodes. the main reason it succeeds where many of the new ones have failed is because it doesn't feel like it's trying too hard. it takes its time with the plot and doesn't insert too much erroneous bullshit (sex jokes, gross out humour, family guy-esque randomness).

Much better than the garbage we got the last two weeks, but overall an average episode. I'd call it a 3.5 but then Morbo would do something horrible to me.

Again, I think of this as 'how good was this compared to other Futurama episodes...' and it's average - that is to say it's probably in the top ten of the new season and the movies.

Compared to other TV I would give a 4/5.0000001011000111000100

This episode did feel like the 'ole f'ama' much more than anything else this season.

And, yes, Hermes comment counts for a lot.

Solid but average. I hope things keep going in this direction.

This was easily the best episode of the new run.

Things I liked:
Morbo was excellent
Hermes' comment
The whole plot in general was good
Bender was back in character
Fry is a main character again

Things I didn't:
everyone knows fry is an idiot, you dont have to remind us every 30 seconds
no one visited fry in the hospital, hes not zoidberg
leela is still a bit out of character

If the rest of the episodes are this quality I will be happy enough.

Morbo stole the show. The visual of Fry hammering a nail with another nail was a giggle. Thumbs up! But I'm completely biased. Or is that bias? Ahhhh.... I'm the biggest fool on the planet! Far and away the best episode of the new run season so far. Still no laugh out loud moments. Still way too many lame one liners. Overall though there were several moments that made me smile and chuckle a bit to myself.

It's improving, so I'm hoping by episode 13 we'll be back to quality of the first run Futurama =). Cautiously optimistic.

Just plain awful.

Cheap excuse for a plot.
Jokes were too damn obvious, didn't make me laugh even once.
Too much out of characterness for my liking.

We all knew Fry wasn't brilliant but now they made him retarded, just like they did with Homer Simpson.
And suddenly Leela (who claimed to love him 4 episodes before) doesn't care about him anymore? Nobody visits him at the hospital? That's just bullshit.

They only good things about this episode were Morbo and Hermes comments.

It's the first time ever I'm actually considering letting this show go. It just seems to have lost everything that made it unique.

As some already said, Fry is just too dumb for no reason - forcible jokes on his dumbness were really putting me off. We don't need another Homer Simspon or Peter Griffin etc. Also, I don't like this "let's find somethign popular and make this episode a parody of it" thing. Funny refferences are great, always have been, but this is too much - everybody does that!

I would like to see the jokes more natural and original - Episode 4 was the best of this season, imho. Most futuramish and natural of all 5.

Professor is great though! Like if somebody would pay special care to his lines.

A good episode that feels right at home with the earlier seasons. Not the show in its absolute prime (like say Luck of the Fryrish or Roswell that Ends Well) but very enjoyable.
A lot of the one-liners gave me a good chuckle though "Nibbler died in the wall" fell flat and was really pushing it. I loved the recurring 'nailing a nail'.
To the people saying this is too stupid for Fry: Did you watch the series at all before? Compared to some of the things he's done, this is Fry on a good day (except getting hit by a bus). He freaking put a turkey on his head and started pouring gravy over it.

It was fun, the characters played their roles well... however, while at first sight, Proposition Infinity aimed for a more classic "Futurama feel" (kind of rushed though) this episode made me realize one of my fears was taking form.... The pace of the show is getting more like the Simpsons (last 3-4 seasons) "who cares" kind of pace. It almost seemed like that stupid ep about Lisa looking for clues to rescue Maggie from some nuns or something.

Overall, It was fun, but I'm hoping the show goes back to it's former originality. Anyone can be fun, but only a few can be great.

I suspect that those who have been giving consistently negative reviews this new season probably were kids or in their early teens when Futurama was first on the air.

I say this not to disparage them, but merely as an observation. Things are different when you are a kid -- I remember laughing out loud and Peanuts comic strips when I was 7 or 8 years old. I still like Peanuts; but they don't make me laugh out loud.

Consider: Perhaps the show is really not all that different than it was (yes, there were episodes in all five original seasons that were not as good as the others*), but rather, these viewers themselves have changed. What they mourn is not the loss of their beloved show, but the loss of their own childhood.

Best episode of the new season. "Hi Animatronio!" It's still quite heavy on the pop culture references, which is sure to get annoying if it keeps up, but the references are further in the past which helps the jokes stand on their own. It's really consistently funny and the first episode that feels like old-school Futurama.

Loved this ep, and I don't understand other people's beef with it. It had a great plot, a unique feel, and just plain funny. I particularly liked the whole combination of Leonardo's inventions, the chain reaction and how they worked together to form that space-ship. Also, I know it's only a small scene, but when the Prof. was turining his head in panic over all those sums and then his neck snapped! That was just hillarious!

'Proposition Infinity' was a gigantic improvement from 'Attack of the Killer App' and 'The Duh-Vinci Code' is a gigantic improvement from 'Proposition Infinity'. Firstly, this is by far the episode that resembles classic Futurama the most so far this season. Last week did a pretty good job but the characterisation was off. This week is the same except that the characters are spot-on albeit exaggerated in certain aspects somewhat for the purposes of the plot. Fry is far stupider than usual because the episode requires it from him, but his intelligence and common sense have always been flexible so it doesn't bother me and character traits have always come in and out of play depending on what was needed. 'The Luck of the Fryrish' for example, makes Fry incredibly unlucky -far more than usual -because it's plot-relevant. That remains one of the very best episodes of Futurama ever.

The episode begins with Fry on a parody of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire which serves as a lovely segway into duscussion of how stupid he is. A small detail I loved is how Leela actually defends his stupidity -it's a subtle hint at the way that she is warming to the idea of him, setting up their dating for later this season. And whilst we're on the topic of characters, I love the pairing of Fry and the Professor -something we get here -and I adore this episode for finally exploring their relationship as relatives somewhat in-depth -something that they should have done in the first season in all honesty.

The plot itself is nice and fast paced despite a lot of weaknesses and little flaws. It slows down in the final act, but it also gives a nice little sci-fi twist and one that compliments the episode's overall theme of intelligence beautifully. It's very well written in terms of structure. It is a parody of The Da-Vinci Code to an extent, but really -there's very little beyond the basic concept of someone uncovering some sort of conspiracy and Rome being a setting. I haven't read the book and I despised the film (and can't remember any of it) and I was never left not getting the jokes.

It's also a very funny episode. Not one of Futurama's all-time funniest, but on par with their average output. The animation is also top-notch and the music is utterly brilliant. Also, on a minor note, I actually like the title now. At first I hated 'The Duh-Vinci Code' as a name. It seemed incredibly lame, lazy and just a cheap way of referencing The Da Vinci Code, but given that the episode is both about Leonardo Da Vinci and Fry being an idiot, it actually works quite nicely.

If Futurama continues to improve like this, then season 6 could be something special afterall! Here's to the future(ama).

A little dissapointing, honestly. I liked the story (I don't think they've ever done an episode that explores Fry and the Proffessor's relationship before),but Fry was a little too dumb to funny most of the time. Finally caught this one in a rerun. It wasn't the best episode ever, but it really deserves more than the 77% or so rating that it has now. Fry *did* seem overly-dumb, but it was funny and the episode was about being dumb, so it's OK with me. I thought the storyline was pretty creative, also.

I'm your usual devoted futurama fan. Like most of us, I've seen every episode innumerable times. Somehow, this one just didn't have me laughing. The first half is okay, but Animatronio and Da Vinci are both pretty disinteresting characters with hardly any lines that get me to crack a smile.

Also, as some other reviewers have said, they play up Fry's stupidity in order to support the plotline. Unfortunately this means a lot of Fry's screen time is also tiresome or predictably one-dimensional. For me, some of Fry's strongest moments in the series are when he exhibits unexpected clairity.

A good example of a more appealingly complex Fry is in 'How Hermes Requisitioned His Groove Back'. When challenged to explain why there's a baseball cap full of yogurt in his locker, Fry replies: "When I put it in there it was milk, but, time makes fools of us all". Brilliant, brilliant stuff there. He has the where-with-all to explain why it didn't make sense to HIM, just not to explain why he wanted to do such a ridiculous thing in the first place.

Boiling fry down to "the dumb guy with a big heart" is neither funny nor interesting.

Anyway, this episode has some okay moments throughout, but nothing that really hits the mark for me.

The first post-revival episode to recapture the essence of classic Futurama...for the first 2 acts, anyway. Act 3 is a horribly boring mess that veers away from the dated-yet-hilarious Da Vinci Code parody that comes before. But in that parody, we get some great humor and some old-fashioned Futurama wackiness. It's a leftover idea thanks to the show's cancellation limbo, but it's an episode that helped the writing staff regain their groove.
