Going into this episode I was slightly concerned about the premise, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the episode. Definitely one of the stronger entries in this season.

A very good episode. I knew that after hitting the season peak last week that it would be difficult to match the same level of quality, but this episode was nonetheless entertaining. I don't like the idea of Nibbler being able to speak freely to the crew - isn't he supposed to be undercover? Or does the defeat of the brain spawn negate that need? I'm also worried about the show's linear timeline. Eventually the characters will be so old that it isn't believable anymore, although I suppose with Futurama, the crew can be youthasised like they were in TMLH. Anyway, I'm rambling on. Good episode. 4/5.

Fantastic episode. The cat jokes were very funny I thought. More lines needed from Bender, Fry and Leela, but Amy was quite funny.

I will give it a couple more tries, but after first viewing, this may be the worst episode ever. If Nibbler wants to be taken seriously, why did he not simply eat the cats? Also, what happened to the nerds writing the show?

was an okay ep, nothing special though. though there were two parts that were funny imo. that sign at PE that says "all employees must haz cat to enter!!!" and where Calculon says "cut that extra looked at the camera, we'll have to do it again" lol

Hi there well it was pretty good episode...but two things I don't get first one is that Leela said ,,Well I may not have a man but..'' she's not with fry anymore? am I missing something? :D and the second thing is when nibbler stoped being undrcover? (If you know the answers could you please tell me )

To all of you who are asking about nibbler. He never blanked their memories in Benders Big Score. So yeah, everyone knows he can talk.

This episode was ok. Not enough Fry and Bender. Amy is probably the worst of the main characters. But the episode was still quite enjoyable. Could have been much worse.

The best opening of the new season yet. Act one is top notch. (BUT) Why would Nibbler talk to everyone all of the sudden and play in the back-ground rather than eating all the cats. 'The feast of a thousand beasts' and what not....And it was nice to see Amy move along, getting her Ph.D. yet....if she's no longer an intern is she going to stay with Planet Express?

There were plenty of good one liners but the overall flow of this one, while better than eps.3.4.5 of this new season, just didn't jell.

Too much CGI computer stuff, get those Koreans drawing, yo! It worked last week but it'd be nice to see of of that ole time cartoonin'.

Not bad but not the best (and the last two weeks were really really good).

Solid Average

After last weeks episode. This episode was bound to fail. That Darn Katz was average. It was certainly better then Not good not bad just average. It was better then episodes 1-5. However, their are minor issues that are really annoying me. Here are some cons

1) The cartoon on the t.v. screen. It was addressed in this episode but the others it has been missing. Its irritating me a lot. It just doesn't feel right to not have that. Its not like the Simpsons ever get rid of the couch gag.

2) Leela and Fry's relationship. Is it a no or a go? Trying to ignore it is not working. It makes the writers look bad. Its also making fans of the show annoyed and angry. If you don't want to address it don't put Fry and Leela in the episode.

3) Amy. I like her character now due to this episode but Propisition Infinity degraded her to the point where I hate her. Amy is a ditz so to see her smart was a little out of character and shocking. I always had a thing agaisnt Hermes because he wasn't funny and wanted to kill his co-workers. However, Lethal Inspection changed his character for the better. It was one reason why it suceeded. I still like Hermes over Amy.

4) Aren't we a delivery company? Older episodes ditch the delivery thing after the first season. It was like four or five deliveries per season. Their has been one delivery so far and it was so fast you probably blinked and you missed it. Its a new season I want to see a cool delivery. I have my fingers crossed make it happen.

Pros

1) The odd pairings. I really like this. It allows secondary characters to take the spotlight. However, the heart of the show has always been Fry, Leela and Bender. Their has not been an episode focusing on them yet. Maybe that is why this season is being seen as not the old Futurama. The best episodes have focused on a duo or trio concerning these characters. How about a Leela and Bender pairing trying to find Fry? I think it would make more sense in the grand scheme of things.

2) The pacing of the show is back. That Darn Katz had the best opening and the best pacing of the first eight episodes.

3) Finally Futurama succeeds at being a show that is both funny with little emotions and a emotional show with very little laughs. Both formats manage to suceed. However, what does Futurama want to be. I would pick the latter more for better episodes.

It was average like a 3.5 but I rounded it up to a 4/5.

Compared to last week's episode, this one was still a little below-par in comparison to the ones shown before it this season. The lolcat jokes could only hold the episode's humour for so long (though it did deliver a good poster joke, which made me lol pretty hard). Many of the other jokes on this episode were hit and miss, and that can-can cat one was probably the one that fell hardest on its face the most.

On the positive side, we do see Amy finally getting her degree, and having Nibbler as a focus is always a nice change. Plus, we see most of the crew revisit The Hip Joint, which was a nice touch. On the other hand, the plot was kind of boring after the first act though, as the cat villians were kind of lame in my opinion. So overall, it's one of the weaker episodes of the show, but at least this one had a purpose and a reason. Overall, I'm going to give this one a 3 out of 5, passable but not that great.

I liked it.

It's not one of Futurama's all time greats, but it's a healthy middle-ground episode. Very funny and it addresses the change in relationship between Leela and Nibbler now that she's aware of his intelligence -something I never found satisfactory in Bender's Game. It's also nice to see Amy's degree finally being addressed too.
Add on to that, an unusual pairing of Nibbler and Amy -hell, seeing Nibbler in a non-epic episode like this is unusual in itself, but also add lots of great humour (and one terrible can-can joke that we'll ignore) and a lovely concept involving cats being aliens that came to Ancient Egypt and were worshipped as Gods due to their technology and you've got a good episode on your hands.

Not as good as the previous three episodes, but much better than the first few for sure.

I was a bit taken aback when Nibbler started speaking to Leela in the club as though she should have no reason to be shocked (hasn't Nibbler wiped the crew's memories whenever that has been discovered previously?) but the potential humor from interactions with him is worth it.

More of a 3.5/5 star rating than a 3.

This was actually a pretty funny episode...I actually cracked up at the part where the "head cat" stops talking to chew his back foot. If you own a cat you laughed!

The only problem I had with this episode is the terrible continuity issues. Are Fry and Leela a couple? They were last week! What happened...? Are the shows out of order? There was something else that didn't jive with older shows but I forget what that was.

BTW - Nibbler didn't eat the cats because he also found them to be cute (but didn't succumb to the brainwashing). That was my take on it. I could be wrong.

Yes, for those that missed the movies, Nibbler didn't erase their memories in Bender's Big Score so they know he can talk. At least they had ONE consistent continuity.

Warning, minor SPOILERS ahead....

This episode had some great moments and lines (Kif's dancing and condition the following morning; Amy's admission of drinking but then stating that is wasn't "revelent"; Amy shutting up Wornstrom as he laughed about the world spinning in the wrong direction). Unfortunately, it also had some absolutely awful moments (the cat meowing to summon the saucer; both times cats danced; the "cutesy" talk by the zombified Planet Express crew). An average episode at best, but on the weak side.

This was a great episode! I loved it! Finally, we get an Amy episode that doesn't involve the Kif relationship! This is the first time this has ever happened since PYHOMS (which nonetheless is still about a relationship), so yeah, it's about time we had an Amy episode which doesn't involve getting it on with someone! Nice!

The main cat was hillarious I thought, as was Professor Katz. And also, finally, Wornstrom gets his series 6 debut! Was also nice to see the full-length theme intro, first time since Rebirth.

The story was complicated and may take several viewings, but on a whole, this episode was one of my favourites of series 6 so far, and I'm ranking it in 2nd place. Many people were slating this episode before it even aired - well IMO it's turned out great, so lesson here is, don't slate until you see it.

This was a decent episode. Had some great laughs. Probably the first time they've ever had an Amy episode that actually mainly focuses on her.

@James "2) Leela and Fry's relationship. Is it a no or a go? Trying to ignore it is not working. It makes the writers look bad. Its also making fans of the show annoyed and angry. If you don't want to address it don't put Fry and Leela in the episode."
Erm what? Do you seriously want every single goddamn appearance of Fry and Leela to have something to do with their relationship? I'm personally glad that they're not overdoing it to shit, because if they did then it'd eventually get annoying and repetitive.

I like these unusual pairings the show has taken on now. Amy/Nibbler wasn't quite as successful as Bender/Hermes, but it was still cool to see Amy in the heroine role and Nibbler directly addressing Leela about their relationship.

As far as a gag-based episode goes, though, this one could've been a little stronger. The story was fun enough, but I felt the jokes themselves could've generally been better (although there were a few really good ones as always: "Doctorate denied," the lolcats poster and Nibbler's sailor suit were standouts).

A bit lacking in good humor overall (despite the type of episode it was). Fun pairing and story though.

Pacing was the best of all the episodes thus far this season. I grew kind of weary of the cat jokes, but not so much that I couldn't enjoy the episode.

I would have like a nod to "A Pharaoh to Remember", but a lot of people don't like that episode so maybe they just let it slide.

This episode feels like it was missing the brainy jokes, they may have been in there and went over my head.

The biggest positive is that they bumped Nibbler up to Crew Member status. I look forward to this providing an exciting new dynamic to the crew.

Felt like a 3.5 out of 5, but I'll knocked it up a notch. BAM!

I ultimately had no faith this would be a good episode. Cats taking over the world?? LAME! I did like the fact that Frank Welker (the voice of Nibbler) had a lot to do in this episode. Yeah, a lot of people complain about Amy suddenly graduating when so many never knew she was in college. Frankly, I cared more about her lingerie shots than her ideas on theorical phyisics. Not a completely terrible episode, but a big letdown from last week's

Okay, I enjoyed the episode. I agree that Futurama is picking up steam lately with these past 3 episodes, after the dreadful Proposition Infinity (god I wanted to wash that awful taste out of my mouth).
The one problem I've been having about these reviews are the nagging about continuity between Fry and Leela. Look at the past 4 seasons. They have gone through a lot, and yet they are not together the episode after.
This is an "EPISODIC" series, not a "SERIAL". As long as the characters remain consistent to their establishment, I'm fine with any episodes (again, minus Proposition Infinity, which contradicted all the characters like no other)
Other than that, enjoyed the episode and hope a new season is developed when this season is over.

I don't know why people hate this episode the only one that I didn't like so far was the Bender Hermes episode. This was silly but not every episode is going to be Jurrassic Bark or Luck of the Fryish or Leelas homeowrld or the Late Phillip J Fry. It is a cartoon and a darn good one. I wish I could give this one a 3.5, but I'll round up to 4. It was a typical episode: not great, but still entertaining. My only concern is that most cartoons always end with the way things started; the pretext remains unchanged. In this episode, however, Amy became a Doctor, Nibbler became a crew member, and the Earth's rotation changed. I'm a little concerned that more and more permanent changes are occurring. It breaks the marketing mode of "branding" in that casual viewers can tune in and always know what to expect.

This season is delivering more ups and downs than any other. Amy as a main character simply doesn't work the way Hermes did in Lethal Inspection. Lethal Inspection took a relatively undeveloped character and made us like him. This episode, however, takes another tertiary character like Amy and assumes we already do like her.

The writers also act as if treating Amy and Nibbler as main characters is a perfectly normal thing to do, when in reality, you'd have to give us a pretty damn good reason for that to happen. It worked in Lethal Inspection -- Bender needed information from the Bureacracy, and Hermes (as we all know) is a bureaucrat. Voila. Here, it turns out Amy is allergic to cats. Okay. So she has a little adventure. Okay. There were a couple times when I thought I was watching a kids' show. An evil talking cat tries to destroy the world with a zany, brainy scheme. Animaniacs? Pokemon? Inspector Gadget?

No, sadly, Futurama.

I liked it! It was a nice and refreshing silly episode, compared to last weeks more touching episode.

I liked it a lot because I could relate to Amy and I like when cats are portrayed as evil selfish balls of fur. I don't like cats and I'm as allergic to them as Amy is. Plus, they're not as cute as everyone thinks they are. :P

I also liked how Nibbler's plot finally advances. I was hoping he'd be able to speak to the crew now since the 1st movie revealed that. We needed something new to happen with him.

I knew that this weeks episode would not be as good as last weeks. I found the cat jokes to be lame. However there were so real funny jokes, like the opening, and the Calculon bit. Also the Eiffle tower being replaced by Big-Ben, and later the Satatue of Liberty. Also to adress the Fry/Leela situation, I read in a article that they are trying to show that they are in a in/out relationship or somthing to that effect. This was a pretty good episode. Not the best the series has had, but its not terrible. Pretty interesting Idea to have Cats being aliens from another planet.

Oh and to all that are giving practically every ep this season, save The Late Philip J. Fry, a 1. Do you seriously expect every new ep to match the quality and format of eps like Luck of the Fryrish, Time Keeps on Slipping, Leela's Homeworld, Jurassic Bark, The Why of Fry, The Sting, Devil's Hands, etc?

I'm glad the new season is having some focus on pure comedy eps. The first 2 seasons were almost entirely pure comedy, yet some so-called "true fans" forget that and only think of season 4's Dramedy eps. Quit being spoilt brats and learn to live with the fact that Futurama isn't just a "Fry/Leela relationship" show.

this episode is proof of my theory about futurama fans. Because there was only 72 episodes in the orignal series its hard for people to remember what the show was all about. When fans think of futurama well fans who hated this episode as the previous reviewer mentioned all they think of is Luck of The Fryish, Leelas Homeworld, Jurrasic Bark ext basically all the episodes that touched you. If the x-mas special wasn't made until this season these fans would hate Santa Clause. Also they forget the show had bad moments in the orignal series lets not forget A League of her Own and every Kiff/Amy focused episode.
Anyways this episode as a guy who loves cats it was supurb (thus the 5 rating), good jokes, plot didn't feel rushed, and as others haved mentioned "an episode with Amy that doesnt involve kiff where she isnt being an idiot or a slut? What a fucking concept"

I thought it was a funny episode. I mean we are all a little spoiled after the late philip j fry. I also do not think that we should judge season 6 so fast. I thing it will be funnier when you can see the episodes in a row and not have to wait a bloody week. Also it is diffucult for the creators to safe the series after how the networks have treated them.

I will destroy you!!!!

Solid writing salvages a concept that wasn't strong enough to sustain a whole episode.

I had been dreading this ep based solely on the plot summary, so I was pleasantly surprised. I think next week's premise is more solid.

This episode was one of the "silly" ones. It really wasn't that good, but I'm giving it points for departing from the disgusting, crude humor of the first few episodes. "The Late Philip J Fry" is a hard act to follow, but this one seemed like filler.

Since when is Amy smart? And I thought the crew wasn't supposed to know that Nibbler is an intelligent being (didn't he erase their minds in previous episodes so they'd forget he could talk?). And, why don't they go on deliveries anymore? Most of the episodes lately involve something invading Earth and the Planet Express crew has to stop it. I miss when they went on hilarious adventures on other planets.

This was a great episode, not the same as TLPJF episode last week, but it's gotta be hard to try and compete with the epic episode last week. But I ignored that, and loved it. The jokes were funnier if you had a pet like that, which may be a downfall for some. But none the less I feel like the old Futurama is back. :D

Not as good as last week but episodes continue to get stronger. As to Nibbler talking, did you watch the movies? if you recall in the first movie Bender's Big Score he forgot to erase their memories at the end. Then in Bender's Game he spoke and was surprised they knew, the crew explained he left w/out doing it.

This was an okay ep. Not as good as last week's, but "The Late Philip J. Fry" is a hard act to follow.
And the whole Fry/Leela thing kinda bothered me too. Maybe the line didn't mean anything, just a typical "oh, poor me" Leela line to move along the dialogue. And to be fair this wasn't really a Fry/Leela heavy episode anyway. But it could be that the writers are trying to slowly phase out the whole "serious relationship" ground they started treading, in hopes of reverting back to the neutral friendship that Fry and Leela once had. well, sorry to tell you writers, but, too late. You went there, deal with it. If they're together, great. If you want them to break up, don't do it with a cheap throw-away line like "..I wish i had a man". Give us something to work with here.

Normally I would not make another post since I already made one here, but I need to explain things;

Rachel D.--
When Nibbler left at the end of "Bender's Big Score", he DID NOT erase their memories. That fact was pointed out in "Bender's Game".

So now, all of the Planet Express crew knows that he can talk, but they think that he is still cute, so they still treat him like a pet.

Which is why in my first post for this episode I mentioned that I liked that Nibbler had a big role becuase I had been wondering when he was going to talk again, given the fact that since the events of Bender's Big Score, everyone knows that he can talk.

I thought this was a nice, silly episode as many others have said. It wasn't the best episode, but it definitely stacks up beside an average Futurama episode. It's not one of those 'best ever' episodes, and wasn't trying to be. I don't think I ever got the impression that Amy was dumb, she just had a sort of ditzy personality at times.

The Fry and Leela stuff was a bit surprising. I would have thought they would be trying to ease back into things with each other at this point. Perhaps this episode should have occurred prior to the last one.

It was an unexpected combo to have Amy and Nibbler, but I think it worked for the most part. And Amy is entitled to have an episode focused on her every once in awhile.

As for the Nibbler talking all the time, I'm up for them doing that some more. They opened the door in the movies, and I think the whole the crew not knowing he can talk thing has had its day.

The cat jokes were funny times, a little too over the top during others--such at the dance.

Overall a good but not great episode. Very entertaining

The promos for this episode looked terrible...and it was terrible. I have nothing against the focus being on Amy or on Nibbler. The problem was that from beginning to end it just wasn't that funny. Even in this season, that seems full of half-baked episodes, this is a standout as one of the worst Futurama episodes of all. The cut-to joke where the cats are dancing and the last line done in V/O by the professor are representative of jokes that feel completely tacked on and totally out of place in the Futurama universe. This season has some episodes that go in the right direction and this isn't one of them. Sorry.

While not as deep or meaningful or great as last week's, this was a decent episode! I like that they are putting together interesting pairings (Amy and Nibbler, Bender and Hermes) this season. I am a cat person, so I liked the cat jokes a lot.

Definately one of the worst episodes. Felt thrown together so messily, the end was very rushed and the premise behind the whole episode was pretty ridiculous and not in a cool futurama way. Its clear that the episode was not written by the usual geeks who bring their own blend of subtle and very smart humour which this episode lacked.

Loved the opening, they went back to the "classic" length for the theme song.

The episode was a blast. I was noting that as of Ep.7 the writers have hit their stride. So nothing could go possibly go wrong, right?

The jokes were all there. The absurdity was delicious.

One weakness was the ending though. Why did Amy's machine stop the alien planet? What should have happened was the new rotational force was in excess of the transmitter so the alien planet would be torn in half. Half could be seen hurtling into the sun the other crashing into Hoth. The left over energy from machine should have caused the backwards rotation on earth. The way it played out didn't even add anything, it didn't even end the idea.

Other than that, I liked it very much.

This episode was just okay for me, although some of the jokes had me chuckling to myself and the return of Bubblegum Tate was awesome there was something missing. This was an episode that just struck me as terrible when I watched it the first time. It had a very strong first act but then devolved into something that didn't feel like it was complete.

The Amy story was very strong, and I had a soft spot for the episode from the very beginning because I had just started on an internship the night this aired so I could enjoy the "internship" aspect of the episode.

When I watched this a second time, I found what I didn't like: the latter half of the show is dependent on the viewer to really buy into the cuteness of this episode. If you don't, then it's just weird to have the crew members grow big pupils, obey cats because "they're cute," etc. Cat Can-Can was just way too over the top for me.

If I take away the cat thing, this episode is great. You see some development in both Amy and Nibbler which is great and I think should be developed even more.

I can accept that we'll get the occassional 'lackluster' episode in a television series, but Season 6 so far has had more bad ones than good ones. This one was almost as bad as that EyePhone episode, and I hated those cats so much that I would grab them with both of my hands and strangle them to death! This episode was freakin lame and had mostly boring jokes. The plot was about cats?! WTF could they not come up with something better? There were a few good moments, such as "The horse says doctorate denied" and Zoidberg falling for the trap intended for the cat. I appreciated the character development of Amy, but it kind of came out of nowhere. She's usually such a dumb bimbo so its hard to think of her as an intellectual. I usually find Nibbler entertaining but not this time.

The one thing that irked me the most about this episode was the scientific inaccuracy. The cats build the pyramid so that it points at their home planet orbiting Thuban, which was the north star during the time of ancient Egypt. They use the pyramid to transfer rotational energy to their planet in the 31st century, but Thuban is no longer the north star at this point. Polaris is currently the north star, and is still the north star in the 3000's and will be for the next ten thousand years or so. Technically, the beam should have missed the cat home world entirely. I suppose this is a minor detail but it bothers me because this show is usually accurate about this kind of stuff. For example, December 31, 2999 really does fall on a Tuesday, Omicron Persei 8 is actually 1000 light years away, and so on. The theoretical physics may or may not be accurate (I don't know enough about it to judge), but I think that falls under creative license. In contrast, the Polaris/Thuban issue is a known fact. Maybe they are dumbing this show down =(

Huh.

Definitely my least favorite of the season. Quite possibly my least favorite of the series.

This episode was so off-flavor that it made me feel a little uncomfortable. Where the Duh-Vinci code simply missed the mark, this one intentionally hits the wrong targets.

None of the cat jokes made me laugh. Neither the cats nor Nibbler were ever remotely cute at any point. These writers have definitely done cute well in the past, so I don't know what's going on here. In 'The Day the Earth Stood Stupid' the Nibblonians are completely adorable. Here I had to fight hard not to fast-forward.

-however-

The 'Cash For Bones' commercial is completely hysterical.

Too bad the actual episode had nothing like that level of humor.

If you consider the horrible premise of the story - hey, let us make an episode about CATS - it turned out pretty well. Some scenes are annoyingly silly and the episode as a whole does not even remotably feel sci-fi. It is rather Futurama for 10 year olds - which is not all that bad and has its share of laughs, but ultimately is not a direction I want the show to be heading in.

An excellent filler episode. What's wrong with that?

If this came out in the original run of the show, it would without a doubt get a 1 from me. However, considering that AOTKA came out this season (the worst episode I've ever seen), I'll give this a 2 by comparison.

This episode was just terrible. It's main problem was Amy, who for some reason is actually a serious scientist with real intelligence. The rapid change in character was so poorly done that I couldn't really take the episode seriously. Not that the enslaving of the world by evil cats is all that serious, but I digress.

As has probably been said in some reviews before, this was basically a crappy version of "The Day the Earth Stood Stupid". I appreciate the fact that Nibbler (who has been sorely underused post-revival) got paired up with someone else besides Fry or Leela for once, so the character dynamic was at least interesting. But in terms of story and humor? Both really flat.

A fave epi of mine. I like cats and I also like Amy's character...I dig how she's actually quite a smart girl as this and some other episodes show yet she doesn't act like the stereotypical nerd, also I like her politically incorrect sense of humor. The premise of harnessing the Earth's rotational energy was also an intriguing one.

Cats. From outer space. That can talk. want to take over the planet.
STUPIDEST. PLOT. EVER!
I don't like nibbler talking whenever now, it makes him way less of a mysterious character. It is nice to see Amy doing her job and going to school for once, though.

This is such an underrated episode. Nobody has any legitimate complaints other than "CATS?!? OMG DUMB." It deserves to be in the 70s
Nibbler had some amazing lines in this episode and the cat humor was actually generally funny. I was expecting an overload of cat meme BS.
Not a perfect episode by any means but certainly not a bad episode.

I thought I remembered disliking this one originally, but I just caught a rerun, and it had some really good jokes. Consolidated Head Melter? LOL
