Funny but a bit lazy...the kind of episode I like in spite of itself.
Old and well trodden British stereo-types mixed with yet another time travel episode. That's the second this production season.

I loved it! Funny all the way through. Also, how can people call it lazy? I checked some of the history and it all seems really accurate, down to Paul Revere actually printing money during the war! But most important, I freakin' laffed. Especially the Monty Python references.

After a poor start it got funnier (the future England stuff was really strong despite being mostly stereotypes - it's a shame the entire episode wasn't there) but the episode was horribly paced (the setup was far too long and tedious, the middle was funny but there just wasn't an ending (same as last week)? Surely the end chould have followed the crew back into the past when they corrected things? Would have been nice to spend some time in the different time lines too (e.g. the gangster prohibition era / the sixties with Andy Warhol)

Still not a "Bad" episode but definitely one of the weaker ones with a flimsy, simplistic plot (magic time travel dust but just not enough of it so it causes problems / how convenient it was the queens' crown had opal time travel dust for them to use) and some characters acting out of, well, character.

Still, no pop culture references (for once) so that's something.

Q. How are the heads in the jars going to survive now without the dust?

3/5

Licking a president's head makes you travel back in time? What happened to making time travel really really difficult? Come on Cohen...stand by your principles.

I enjoyed seeing the British future. The building designs were awesome and Fry was looking rather slick.

Some tired cliches with the bad teeth joke and the cockney accents. They have been done, and I would have hoped the Futurama writers could have come up with something more original.

A varied episode. Some great bits, but it didn't match the greatness of other recent episodes like Law & Oracle.

This episode was still not up to the standard I had hoped for. Ten times the better than Yo Leela Leela, but still filled with all sorts of easy puns, and while they are sometimes funny, they are also lazy. "He's puking in the Bushes"! However some of the British references were funny and very well used. Zoidberg as a fop and the veiled Monty Python mentions were well done.
Also, surely Futurama can use the time-travelling story device better than this. The classic Roswell episode and the equally awesome Late Philip J. Fry were both better than this. Fingers crossed it improves next week.

I was hoping for better than the overused British stereotypes (and that American accents would have evolved anyway, I know, picky picky).

Also, how do they show a police box in a sci-fi show without it disappearing or flying away?! I also thought "The Queen" was going to be Mom.

Hey a mediocre episode of Futurama sure beats any episode of Jersey Shore for me.

I was amused.
The pacing may have been a bit off but at least the story wasn't boring.
I enjoyed the british stereotypes and references except the Python ones.
Mind you, Monty Python's animation bits were done by Terry Gilliam, the only american of the group.
And Zoidberg doing the Silly Walk was - well - logic, I suppose. Although he's not much of a Cleese, quite the opposite, I'd say.
Still a rather agreeable epidode, was it not?

I though this episode was great and so much better than yo leela leela. Loved the whole episode and the only negative Ihave to say is that they need to give the time travel thing a rest because if they dont itll end up becoming boring. My favourite line of the whole episode is where bender says "ey, whats with all the funny accents, B*****cks ive got it too" that was hilarious, despite the fact I didnt really know what the episode was going to be about I rather enjoyed this episode. The next episode im really looking forward to is the tip of the zoidberg because hes my favouite character :)

Well this has been my least favorite of the season. Throwing in fry's part time job so sudden and seemingly only for this episode along with the lame method of time travel they developed I wished the entire time that this episode didn't exist as part of the series. I thought most of the humor was below futurama standard. I did enjoy it when everyone had a different use for bender and when George Washington kept spitting at the professor

'ello, Guhv-nah! It may not have been badass, but Futurama is like pizza: even when it's so-so, it's still awesome! This was a very good episode and was well above average. The Bender flag at the end was really funny and the Andy Warhol painting of Zoidberg was great. The British-ized alternate future was really funny, too, especially Scruffy and the background jokes like 'EAD MUSEUM. Good background jokes are part of what makes Futurama great and this episode had a lot of them. It's *almost* a 5.

While I think last night's episode was the weekest of the current run of new episodes so far, by the end of it I felt that the whole managed to be greater than the sum of its parts. The whole episode just had this freewheeling goofiness to it that I found infectious even though the writing itself was a bit haphazard at times. For a bit I would have rated it average but by the end of the episode I raied my rating to good. Not the best but still recommended!

I found this one funny purely because I'm English. It's always funny to see our favourite cartoon characters taking the piss out of us ;) just thought they could have been a bit more up-to-date with the stereotypes. Cor blimey, wot a splendid episode! Eventhough I'm Dutch, and therefore would have a lack of American history, this one was a hoot. Fortunately I heard about the cock-up Sarah Palin made with Paul Revere, so even that bit of history that otherwise would go above my head made sense.

This one had a few LOL moments for me. Like rush-hour on Broadway or the cameo of the Tardis and one of the Doctors (Who). And the British accents of both Leela and Bender were jolly good, chaps!

Like 2 episodes ago, Maurice Lamarche has been quite busy again, doing so many presidents and what's not.

There was a slight error though. The long 'S' is indeed looks like a 'f' but without the horizonal bar - otherwise it would be just a 'f', not a 's'! Duh!

So while I enjoyed this one, and the first 10 reviewers too, I wonder why the overall score is 73%? Did those bloody Brits rate it down? ;)

Not the most exciting episode ever, but it was enjoyable and had some clever humor. I liked the whole British New York sequence (Bender's got a surprisingly authentic British accent). Minus though for Fry's "Bender bit a poo penny." If Futurama has to use toilet humor, it should be more intelligent than that (for example, all those sewer episodes). Also, I'm not too fond of this suddenly overly childish Fry. This season has taken its toll on his character development.

This ep wasn't a fave of mine, I guess I wasn't interested in the time period they went back to, or the characters back there. It was boring back there, but American history doesnt interest me. It certainly isn't why I watch Futurama. They shouldnt have just accepted Bender back there either, I mean hes a freaking robot! It was clool seeing British America even if it did feel a bit cheap. The art and designs were fantastic. The stereotypical British humour wasn't good or funny, neither was the Queen. The British accents were cringe worthy too...

More continuity errors. There were a few funny moments and good lines, and I liked the concept of Fry having a second job at the Head Museum. Overall not very impressed with this ep though...

This is really a 74%?! It's one of the best episodes I've seen in 6B.

Overall, I liked the episode just a reoccuring issues with it.

- Fry's voice has changed. I can't explain it but it seems higher pitched or off. It's weird and I don't really like it.

- Ever since 6A I have hated the new electronic music. Can't we have the old music back. Also, what happened to the cartoon blips in the openings?

- Pacing is off again. The ending, like nearly every episode this season, was rushed. The movies seemed to have really messed up the show. Also, the new writers for this show are not as good. I do think that with time they will be good.

- People are beating up this show. An F for Yo Leela Leela and a C for this. IMO some fans need to understand that the show has changed. This is really the first episode where I have realized this. It happens people get over it or stick to watching the original run.

- Still think the standout(s) of Season 6b are yet to come. I'm looking forward to it. 9/10

Great episode. There is always going to be a small number of people who hate every episode.

Im English and found the stereotyping the Americans gave us very wide of the mark from the Britain that I know - it was more of a commentary on the small minority of aristocracy within the UK rather than the vast majority of UK subjects, but thats half the fun of it it is an American TV show after all.

If they did ever want to get some more accurate jokes about the British they could look at 1.John Bishop's Britain (BBC) or 2.Little Britain (BBC). Joke about the teeth was spot on though!!!!!!!! (What is it with rich old British people and bad teeth??)

First time review here and English to boot.
Being from England, a lot of the British gags were predictable, but no worse than anything else I have seen. They almost seem more of a stereo-type of a stereo-type than any form of commentary on Britain.
Have watched through a few times, it has some good moments and some not as good moments.
As for the scoring I give it 3 out of five. In case of confusion, that is average as I thought this was an average episode of Futurama. This is still much better than pretty much anything else on T.V. I have seen a lot of people say they thought the episode wasn't amazing, and then give it 5. I just don't get that.

The British stuff would have just been stero-typical if we wouldn't have gotten an all too breif view of Brit-Futurama. But most importantly, it was funny.

My only complaint was that they needed another minute or two to wrap up the ending, somehow. I felt it was a little rushed. Odd how this season has had such rushed episodes.

I enjoy the time travel episodes when theyre done correctly, but this...not so good. What happened to the Professor's attitude on changing the past from Roswell? Also, they already knew how to time-travel...

This played like a bad Simpsons episode, with nonsensical setups (Fry's 2nd job, the party, time travel explanation) and too-easy "jokes" that fell flat. A couple moments (descriptions of Bender, e.g. crockpot) saved it from a 1.

U.S. Presidents are not only my least favorite Jeopardy category, but possibly the dullest and most inappropriate subject for a science fiction show.

The Revolutionary War? England? Family trees? You could choose a Wikipedia page at random and come up with more interesting subjects at least 9 out of 10 times.

Even the original Star Trek had enough integrity to depict a future in which nation states had become irrelevant, and that was written during the Cold War.

I am an American but when I read or watch science fiction, I expect it to transcend the politics and nationalism if the present, not to indulge in patriotic yammer.

Also, Billy West's British accent was pathetic.

Why is everyone related to Farnsworth retarded except him and his clone. I mean Ignor, Fry, and now this new British Fransworth are all very dumb, Fry is his own gramps, but ignor isn't missing his delta brain wave yet he is dumber than Fry, F the new futurama, they take a shit on all the old ones with each new one I see, at least lately. The Prof. was way more outta character in this one than ever before, for shame!!!!!!!!!!

These reviews mean nothing. It has become VERY APPARENT by looking at the number of votes that a few zealot nerds with no lives vote up or down the episodes they love or hate. It's a classic "Stop liking what I don't like approach". Why does this episode have twice as many votes as say, Benderama?

I rarely give a Futurama episode a 1, but I really think that this one deserves it. I know a lot of viewers found it funny, but I found that it was rather poorly written. The continuity with the heads in the jars was strange, as the water has been drunk in previous episodes with no side effects. Yet that was the least of this episode's problems. Going back to colonial times to make a bunch of jokes that revolve around topics such as Paul Revere should never happen in a Futurama episode. I don't care about history, so I personally found no draw to the jokes. I really do love the intelligent Futurama jokes that make you think, but this was a subject that shouldn't have been touched. Futurama's witty jokes should be about quantum mechanics and not about colonial Boston. The humor was once again crude and uninspired. Several minutes of poor British accents was not the witty, intelligent humor that had once defined the show. It was also quite tasteless in my opinion. The pacing was off as well, as the final resolution was never even shown to the viewer. Overall, I found this to be a terrible episode by season 6 standards, let alone Futurama standards. I hope (possibly in vein) that the show will reconsider the road it is going down.

A taste of the new, and a taste of the old. A perfect combo! Before this episode I thought the only problem with the new episodes was Fry and Leela's relationship because she used to say no in the olds and always yes in the news. This convinced me that it was meant to go back and forth. Ken Keeler presented another great and well written humorous episode with not only good laughs, but the emotions were there to, something that makes some past episodes stand out (i.e): parasites lost, love and rocket. Overall: 5/5

Whilst this may be the weakest time-travel episode 'Futurama' has produced, it's still great fun. Its method of time-travel is absolutely batshit insane, which is good in my book. It has just enough pseudo-science behind it to work in the context of the show and it allows for some fun time-travel antics, so I'm in.
I loved the way the episode tied itself into actual history by making use of David Farnsworth, a real historical figure, as Farnsworth's ancestor. I also loved the English-ruled vision of a future America. As a Brit myself, I was a bit let down that it essentially chose to use the same old stereotypes seen in every American sitcom, but at the same time, it was very funny. Jokes like Hermes' "Manhattan United" T-shirt and Zoidberg doing the Monty Python silly walk really made me smile. It's something of a shame that this episode exists, because now it's less likely that they'll ever make an episode where the crew visit the England of the future, but I enjoyed this one a lot all the same.

I gotta say, this is one of my least favorite episodes. It's kind of funny, but there's not one ounce of real emotion the entire time. Also, the characters were less of characters and more like people to react to the situation. Along with this, the episode had major pace problems; it felt like they didn't have enough jokes for the ending, so they just rushed to get out of it. Overall, this is a funny episode, but it could be much, much better.

This is a retraction on my previous review. This was the first episode of Futurama I ever saw, and it hooked me, because it was funny. However, if every episode of the show was like this, I think I'd get bored and stop watching pretty quickly. The characters aren't acting like characters, the jokes are empty wordplay, and there's no emotion at all. Thankfully, Overclockwise came around to keep me hooked, but if it weren't for that, this show would've lost my interest very quickly.

This one really baffles me. They have a show set in the year 3000, so they make it much less interesting by traveling back in time to colonial America. Awesome. Remember 'Roswell that ends well', how it very intelligently and seamlessly applied a past event to the show? That didn't even come close to happening here.

This was a huge disappointment. Act 1 was great and it seemed like we were gonna have a hilarious time travel episode jumping around to different eras of presidents. Instead we got a boring story merely taking place in the Revolutionary era, followed by a silly third act with surprisingly unfunny British jokes. Wasted potential past the first 5 minutes.
