The way this episode started was great, it served as a good opener to the season. Futurama really knows how to get the people going, they do it all the time. While sacrificing continuity for comedy, this episode got the job done and added depth to Bender. Solid.

Both episodes tonight were pretty damn good and up to par with the first 4 seasons. I loved the opening. As for the guy talking about "shock value", this episode was pretty tame I thought. The original run had much more risque stuff than this. Gotta talk to your kids sooner or later about robot sex. ;)

I loved the opening, espically when Fry, Leela, and Bender are about to be eaten by a giant spider only to say "We don't have time to be eaten, the Professor needs us !". Fry drinking Slurm Loco and truning green....Excellent show.

I thought this episode was rather entertaining. Lots of funny and interesting moments. But one of my favorite things about this episode was the writing for the characters. Some of the previous episodes had some problems were they made Leala too stupid. I feel this episode seem to be back where she should be, smart. Or at least not a bumbling idiot. Even though she wasn't in this episode a lot. Leala being stupid can really brake an episode to me because it shows instead of making a funny story. They just make the characters stupider.
But they didn't do that with this episode. They made a really good one here and Im going to give it a 5.

A side note, if you didn't like this episode than you should probably stop watching. Because you probably will not like any other new episode.

Bender-centric episodes tend to be hit-or-miss for me, but this one really worked; it balanced the zany stuff with the more emotionally-grounded stuff quite well. It wasn't a terribly poignant episode or anything, and the ending was melodramatic (but in a cheeky way, which makes it somewhat more acceptable), but it definitely exceeded my expectations. A great start to what is hopefully a great season.

This was a very creative and funny episode. I was so impressed with it, especially the part where they explained how robot babies come around. If this is an indication about how the rest of the season will be like, I'd say we are in for a real treat because the future episodes are going to rock. This episode reminded me of Futurama's original run, which is a good thing.

To all the people who are attacking "Dan" for his uber critical review, I will say this in his defence: well, nothing really. I think he was watching a different network. Plenty of clever wordplay in this episode. My favorite line - in rebuttal to Bender's denial of paternity, the baby responds "Wipe my tiny metal a**". By the way - why was a naked Barbados Slim hiding in Hermes apartment (as if we didn't know)? More details to follow?

"Ben" was adoreable. I kind of wish that instead of cramming all of this into one episode it could have been a mini-plot going on in the background the whole season.

Speaking of sub-plots...I did not see the ending of Fry's slurm addiction coming, and it made me roll with laughter.

This was a nice little episode. It is nowhere near a classic but it had a nice story, some good jokes and a sweet ending. I could believe the relationship between Bender and Ben so that really helped further the story and give much more impact in the last few scenes. I'd probably compare the ending to that of "Leela's Homeworld", not really recognized for its sweet ending but it still chokes you up.

While the main story was sweet, it did not really supply many jokes and I do think that is why the writers used Fry even-though his story had been done before. While this may not be the funniest episode there were a fair few great moments

While it may not be the most memorable or funny episode I still very much enjoyed it. Characters were used well, nothing felt out of place, it was good. If the Fry subplot had dealt with something else (or if there was no subplot at all) then I'd probably have raised the grade slightly but it didn't take up too much of the time and was mostly seen during Bender's story so it wasn't too bad.

I absolutely loved this episode. As a season premier it got my Futurama fire burning once again! Now I can't wait for the rest of the season, which hopefully holds up accordingly.

I agree with many other opinions about the show not being as it used too, but it feels like they just need to find their funk again, and with this episode I feel they're gettin' there.

Excellent intro, big let down with the soda machine character. Nothing she said or did was entertaining. Fry's Slurm addiction was just a re-use of the coffee addiction, and I hate it when they reuse plot elements like that. Funny, but predictable. Bender was a bit too sappy and not enough of an ass. Bender being an Ass is what makes him great. Ben couldn't stand alone as a dynamic character, so if they bring him back, they better address that. Overall, some good moments, but mostly horrible. Futurama can do better then this.

Now, this is a great opening for a new season. And I know Futurama make these "sweet" episodes now and then, and some of them fail and some of them are fantastic. This one how ever is some where in between. A good episode that I enjoyed, though it wasn't at the level of "great". But it served for a good opening, which is nice. 7.5/10
