The humor in this episode is awesome. We see Zapp and Kif for the first time this season, the relevance of Fry's pants, and an explicit parallel to the Mayan calendar. The sci-fi concept here was superb, I hope to see more like this. Plus, always good to see an episode that gives those heartstrings a good hard tugging.

I enjoyed this episode ALOT, But not as close as "The Bots amd the Bees". It had surprising moments around the end, and was very.....Humurous. The Fry/Leela Hand thing was kind of stupid, but I loved the ending of it though! Their arms flowing through Space forever.......Now that is something we would see from CLASSIC FUTURAMA!

Loved the Ep!

I have noticed the comedy central episodes are slightly more gruesome.(See: The Tip of the Zoidberg) Ripping each others arms out? It doesn't bother me, but I could see how it could bother some. I didn't like it as much as the bots and the bees, but I was disappointed when it ended, so that's always a good sign! Well done, Futurama writers.

Another great episode! Futurama is having a great start to this new season. Like I've said before making characters stupider than they should be is a real episode breaker for me. But everyone seemed to be where they should be in this episode which is a huge plus for me.

I was very impressed with this episode. It was funny and original, and reminded me of Futurama's original run. I especially liked the part where the box chose who could and couldn't go to Mars. Of course Bender stayed so he could loot, even with the end of the world near! It was just a great episode overall.

Probably the best Fry/Leela episode since "The Late Philip J. Fry"--and the end-of-the-world craziness was equally entertaining. This is the kind of sci-fi-balanced-with-shippiness story that was sorely missing from a lot of season six; it was great to see that delightful combination back in full-force.

I had high hopes for this one, but it dissapointed. Like alot of newer episodes, it felt rushed. This storyline needed more time, at least an hour long episode. Also, I really disliked the Tron Legacy joke. Why would they be talking about that movie 1000 years later. Dont get me wrong, I didnt hate the episode. There were funny parts and I enjoyed the stuff with Fry's pants, I just didnt enjoy it nearly as much as Bots and bees

Okay, that was much better than the other premiere! Lots of laughs throughout. So the premise was far-fetched, even for a fantasy/sci-fi cartoon. But the last shot of the arms drifting away capped the hilarity with some emotional punctuation. I hope the season is more like this than like Bots/Bees.

A wonderful episode -- I loved the absurdity of the Mars/Earth near collision thing. As well as the Cheif Martian.

The writers of Futurama now are making everything emotional. Season 6 was a tearjerker due to lack of funny jokes. But Season 7 may now be a tearjerker due to emotion.
Bender no longer seeing his son again(maybe), Fry and Leela thinking they will be apart from each other forever again(Same thing with one of their arms each).
5/5 rating.
Beautiful.

I don't mind if Futurama sometimes has more far-fetched scientific ideas, as long as it's entertaining and funny and this episode was (surprisingly sweet, too, considering all the limbs getting torn off) Also, Mars heading for Earth I think could be based on that 50's sci-fi movie "When Worlds Collide". I loved both episodes!

I loved the martian stuff and the ship and Zapp, but the Leela/Fry sappiness is just getting old. I can only hear Fry whine about her so many times and still care. I have no problem with the writers playing them on again/off again, but please stop with the sap.

Other than that (significant portion), it was a fun episode.

One of my favourite episodes of the second run of Futurama. This episode was fast paced, but didn't feel rushed and I enjoyed most of the jokes. A point should be made on the quality of the animation in this episode, because it was superb. I find that these grand, sweeping "epic" type storylines have become sort of a clich for futurama now - the PE crew have been involved in so many plots that affect the earth on a planetary scale that by rights they should all be internationally famous heroes. That said, I still enjoyed this one a lot and I feel like the writers are hitting a new stride.

Much better than bots and the bees in my opinion. Seems like there was much more sci-fi substance in this topic. And this is a good example of a pop culture episode that works well within the Futurama universe even if you don't know what they're referencing (unlike that god-awful iphone episode. Ughh...)

Anyways, the episode was pretty decent. Good sci-fi moments, some good comedy, but the ending was poorly thought out. Scruffy saved her with a ladder? Okay, that's fine, but they never used to do off screen endings in the original run. Just seems lazy.

The arms getting ripped off was a little too much. Just seemed like gore for the sake of gore. However I did like the end scene. It actually felt like an ending to an old Futurama episode.

All in all, better than the first episode, but still not as good as the originals, or even some new series classics like "Late Philip J Fry".

I'm all for the "touchy feely" episodes if done well, but it has been done far better in past Futurama episodes. The Fry/Leela has been beat to death so many times that it's getting inherently for the writers to make those kinds of moments work. Not that it's impossible, but it'll just take some really good writing.

The episode has a whole was conceptually better than Bots and Bees in my opinion. However, some of the jokes were a little weak, and the thing with the arms was a bit much to me. If I could rate it a 7.5 I would, but I can't, so a 4/5 should do.

I'm shouldn't be surprised this episode has a high rating like it does because as soon as the writers put in sappy emotional "heart tugs" people seem to eat it up.

Unfortunately the episode provided much in the way of gags and the only reason I can give it a 2 is because of the badger and some funny one liners from Zapp.
