Leela becomes campaign manager for a presidential candidate whose birth certificate is mysteriously missing.

Has to be the best Leela episode out there! It was constant laughs throughout, and even though it was predictable something was going to be up with the Senator, the actual twist still got me by surprise!

It was amazing.. I loved all the call backs to BBS and Head in the Polls.

It was insane... and insanely funny.

So far.. this season hasn't missed a beat.

Overall: 5/5.

Excellent, excellent episode! As good as the original election episode from the original run, id grant.

The plot was well written, there were no pacing issues to speak of, the jokes were all hit, and there was plenty of background jokes to boot(skyrim!).

All in all, a 10/10 for me. Keep it up, Futurama.

I had to watch this one again before reviewing. I'm pretty impressed with the quality seen in these first 3 episodes of the season. This one was just an enjoyable and quality episode. Great callbacks to A Head in the Polls and Benders Big Score. It had a great and very real political message at the end. None of our votes matter. Good stuff.

The obama parody was accurate but when I think about the whole situation it just depresses me.
Episode wasn't liberal drivel at all, it was simply parodying the Obama situation.

To be honest I didn't really find it funny, which sucks because the first two episodes last week were strong... as for the ending, I guess they forgot that the time spheres were paradox correcting?

I'm glad Futurama solved the grandfather paradox, and that there are now jungles on Earth.

The danger of doing something with political relevance (like the Birther Movement, which by now is old, eye-rolling news) is that it may not be relevant a year after it was written. However, once the sci-fi/time travel aspect came in and made it tie into the plot, I really enjoyed the episode.

The first act was perfect (street scene with free beer, Bender's "good news!") and looked like Futurama at its very best, though it did drag on a bit later. Some of the parallels to recent topical matters were just too obvious and drawn out. Still, it's a solid 4, because it kept the right tone and had plenty of excellent Fry moments, Bender moments, etc.

Literally the worst ep ever. Worse than Bend Her. Worse than Thats Lobstertainment . Just a bunch of cliches without a single real laugh. Who thought this would be a good idea? All the momentum from a great Farewell to Arms just splatted against the windshield. What a disappointment.

the ratings have to be more realistic. if you give this a 5 and honestly think that it is on par with even 50% of past episodes as far as humor, story, and wit... youre wrong! it cheapens the value of other episodes that were genuinely great to give this a 5. it was tired old jokes and clunky plot. no good is the perfect description

Couldn't agree more with the people who said this felt like a pre-cancelation episode. The jokes were fewer, but hit harder and the episode was much more focused and slow pace compared to the other new ones.

I'm actually shocked at the amount of low ratings some buffoons have given. The primary message I got from the episode was that no matter who you vote for, it doesn't matter, as nothing is gonna change.

It seems idiot Republicans feel like they've taken a shiner from this episode, which only furthers their being an idiot stereotype.

By the way, I'm a Gary Johnson and Ron Paiul supporter and far from a Democrat.

A very solid episode. A lot of fun and a crack up. I liked the Nixon and BHO jokes all around. The references to BBS and other eps worked fine.

I have to admit I was a little nervous that the result was actually going to stick for a minute, but was pleasantly surprised.

I would have liked, maybe, a bit more of the Robot Rebellion and a bit less of the live birth, but all in all, a really solid episode.

Best this season so far.

I absolutely loved Scoop Changs new employer!

I really hope that the writing staff was referring to Ron Paul with the senator being the only honest and rational canidate only to be booed and ridicules. I certaintly hope that part of the character wasnt mean to be barak obama because we all know how dumb that would be.

All in all a very good episode, precancellation worthy. I cant give it a 5because only eps on The Why of Fry and Jurassic Barks caliber are worthy of that and this wasnt it. But still very good. So a 4

Amazing. I loved every second of it. And to respond to all the controversy from conservatives it's getting: Just let it go. This really had very little social commentary: it was just parodying a situation. The only conservative that they made to appear stupid was Nixon, and Futurama has always done that. And, I guess the candidates in Act 1, but that was really short. Oh, and as for the guy that said you can turn on the news for liberal propaganda... You ever watch Fox News? I seem to be the opposite of everyone else: last week's episodes were extremely weak, this one was excellent. Some of the "topical" jokes suffered from being far removed from the events they referenced, but they were unobtrusive enough to ignore. There were far more non-topical jokes that were excellent, like Bender gasping in Leela's hair, or the Zebra Entrance. Also some relevant commentary on the political process that applies to any election, and some great references to Terminator, including a plot point on the time travel paradox in that series that's always bothered me. All in all, great episode, WAY better than the terrible start to the season.

Nixon is one if my favorites so of course I loved this one. I do wish they wouldn't have compared conservatives to brain dead hicks. We need all the viewers we can get. This was one of the worst Futurama episodes ever. A very lame premise relating to a serious and interesting situation currently going on but the satire completely missed the mark. One of the worst episodes after a strong showing this season. I have seen every episode since Futurama came out in 1999, and I can deal with the political humor that goes with the show, but this is such in your face leftist propaganda that you would think that it was a campaign commercial for Obama's re-election. I get it that the writers are all democrats and hate republicans, but portraying conservatives as evil "screw-the-poor-and-illegal-alien" hicks is as much an overused cliche as showing liberals as drum-playing pot-smoking fornicating hippies. If I wanted liberal propaganda, I would watch the Communist News Network or More Snotty Nonsense By Communists (by the way, I do not get my news from FOX...try PJ Media and the Drudge report).

When this episode wanted to be Futurama, it was good. When it wanted to force non-clever politics down its viewers' throats, it was awful.

Likewise, acts 1 and 3 were great, but act 2 was painful. The satire wasn't as in-your-face as "Proposition Infinity" was last season, but a show as clever as Futurama shouldn't have to stoop to such obvious political jokes. Especially since this episode's non-political jokes were really funny.

Wow...this is my least favorite Futurama episode. Thirty minute episode with two whole jokes, (both of which were about hurting animals) one funny reference to time travel, and the remainder stuffed with one sided political garbage. This is the especially annoying political garbage where there is no respect for differing ideas, instead one side is evil and wrong and the other side is completely clean.

My problem with this episode is one that I've had with several of the newer episodes. In the past the characters and plots almost never referenced or revolved around contemporary issues i.e. things from our time. And if they did they were subtle or referenced in a clever way that wasn't so in your face trying to make a point about some current issue. This episode though was just that, referencing current politics(always a depressing topic anyway) and not even doing so in a clever or original way that I would expect from a work of science fiction. Just switch "Earth Certificate" back to "Birth Certificate" and you've got the 2012 election.

The appeal and strength of science fiction is its ability to let us look at modern situations from another perspective using futuristic places and people to represent ones from our time. This lets us view these situations without the same bias we would feel towards there modern counterparts. This is because the references are done with subtlety, and the viewer often wont even realize what current issues are being represented. This episode however could not have been less subtle, and that is why it fails.

Incredibly funny episode, obviously Futurama and politics mix very well.
