I really enjoyed this episode. It may not be the most well plotted episode (what with the Nixon scenes and commercials in the second segment) but it is by far the funniest of the new season. I'm guessing this is going to be a "Love-Hate" sort of episode as the viewer may have to be familiar with the type of shows to understand the jokes, but luckily (or unluckily) I am aware of them, which is why I believe this worked so well. Great job.

In general, I'm not a big fan of these Futurama mash-up episodes, but this one was pretty OK.

My favorite joke was the hall with all the doors where you'd expect Fry and Bendy-Boo running through, only to see no other doors opening :-)

I liked the first half which was the Scooby Doo spoof. The doors gag was hilarious. Still,I think it could be a lot better, there's a lot of missed opportunities.

The second story was crap, it wasn't really a story (like this kid from YLL would say), we get it at the first time, why repeating the commercial joke all the time instead of making a story, plot or something that have any sense?

Third story could be funny but again, it wasn't a story telling, it was too rushed by Nixon (he was really distracting) and kids at the ending. It would be a funny Zapp-jerky story but they screw'd it up. Total mess.

Segment I: 7/10
Segment II: 2/10
Segment III: 5/10

At least Scooby-Doo spoof was the largest part...

This episode gets full marks from me because of Nixon's dubbing in the G.I. Zapp segment alone, but the Bendee Boo segment was really well done, and I didn't mind the Purpleberry Pond segment too much either.

I wasn't impressed at all.

It felt like the first two segments weren't even trying to be Futurama. They were kind of doing their own thing, only they replaced the characters of the original show with the PE crew. This is why the GI Zapp part was by far the best to me; the dubbing gave it a bit of Futurama-esque humour that was seriously lacking until then. Even without the dubbing I reckon it could've held up reasonably well ("Did you prepare your parachute? Good, because I forgot mine.")

But man, those first two acts really rustled my jimmies. Looking back, there was exactly one thing in each of those segments that amused me (The Professor continuously plotting to get the purpleberries over and over, and Leela attempting to pull Zoidberg's "mask" off (which was subsequently ruined by having his head bounce all over the damn place)).
"Reincarnation" was much more broad than "Saturday Morning Fun Pit", which I think really worked in the former episode's favour. Old school animation, retro video games, and anime are three styles that are widely known even by people who don't care about them. But what exactly is somebody who's never seen Scooby-Doo or G.I. Joe going to get out of this episode? Jack all. And if it means anything, I used to watch a lot of Scooby-Doo back in the day yet found that segment the worst.

Anyway, that's enough ranting. I hope the worst of the season is behind us now, because otherwise season 7 is quickly on track to becoming the worst yet for me.

I really liked the first part of this episode, but I feel like the second two acts were a bit weaker. Honestly I think one of the biggest things that would have made this episode better is if it were an Anthology of Interest episode. Have the crew watching Saturday morning cartoons when the Professor wheels in the What If machine and they all ask what things would be like if they were their favorite cartoons. I would've felt like that was much better context then just Nixon watching them all on tv.

The first segment was great!
Loved Fry as Shaggy, Bender as 'Bendy-Boo' (Scooby-Doo)...

The third segment was fantastic!
G.I. Zapp and the whole gang were awesome...

The middle segment, about a purple cereal - me no likes... But it may grow on me after 5-6 more viewings.

Well, 2 out of 3, not bad.

Best episode of the season so far, because it was completely different and unafraid to do its own thing. It's good that it was so detached from Futurama itself, and the three types of shows it was referencing are general enough that this episode will still be understandable in the future.

The humor was top notch, in a very deranged and disturbing fashion. The sort of "I shouldb't be laughing at this" thing that gets you laughing anyway. If I had to pick a favorite, I'd probably have to go with the Larry Bird line for the sheer wtf factor.

Hilarious episode. Don't get the hate. It's the same characters in 3 different shows, full of different aspects and environments. They really pulled it off though, with the same old Futurama jokes. The third act will have you rolling on the floor, thanks to that Nixon Commentary.

5/5 Was a good last Non-canon episode. People need to lighten up.

It was a lot better than I thought it would be!

When I read the bad reviews and bad CGEF score, I was worried that we would have another TFHS on our hands. However, this wasn't the case. I got quite a few laughs out of this one, and ended up being pleasantly surprised!

The middle section was a bit annoying though. That was the worst. The first section was decent, and the third was funny for Nixon's 'edits'.

So far 7B has been terrible for me, but this one was not bad at all... I'd rank it as 3rd best of 7B so far, and I never thought I'd say that.

Too bad this is getting so much bad reviews. I thought the scooby doo segment was actually very funny. The second segment was the typicall show about a produkt that wont stop advertising, so I got the point and I really enjoyed the professor and zoidberg just repeating everything over and over again. One would thing that it was very daring of them to try something like that, but I think it worked out well, because it was so over-the-top-silly that it really got me. The third segment was the best, it was really a blast. I would give the episode a 5 , but it kinda did feel like it could have been a bit funnier then it was.

Bendy Boo: Hilarious (4.5)

Purpleberry: One or two repeating jokes that didn't really land (2.5)

GI Zapp: Started flat, but then Nixon started to nail it with his rapid-fire commentary (4.0)

Overall: Rounds up to a 4. As far as gimmick episodes, this was far from the best Futurama has to offer. But it was pretty good fun anyway.

Very strong episode (and deserving of much higher than the current average, in my opinion - not sure why it's so divisive).

The middle episode would have benefited from picking a show to parody - Smurfs or Strawberry Shortcake - and sticking with it. It was also hurt by the fact that the joke didn't really match the show; there were a number of better "this show is just to sell cereal / toys" option (Transformers, Ninja Turtles, Nintendo cartoons, etc.)

But still, hilarious. I wonder if your enjoyment depends on having watched the original cartoons. Maybe the dissent is a generational issue.

Seems to be a love-it-or-hate-it episode, though anyone who says this is the worst episode ever obviously skipped "Holiday Spectacular" and "Naturama", both of which did the vignette format infinitely worse than this.

The Scooby and G.I. Joe segments were brilliant, though the Scooby one was mostly trope humor, so if Scooby wasn't your childhood, you probably weren't as entertained. The Strawberry Shortcake one was dull since it relied on the same advertising joke, which was funny the first time but not the 10th time.

I am not a fan of Futurama imitating other shows. There is so much good material in the Futurama universes it is hard for me to understand how this episode even seemed like a good idea. If a compilation must be done, why not Anthology Of Interest 3? Years from now, this episode will join the company of a few others and be skipped when re-watching the entire series.

AS others have said, some of the Nixon parts were funny. This was just enough to lift the rating up off the bottom.

Average. The second story -- the smurf/cereal commercial parody really dragged the entire episode down. If it could have been as entertaining (or more) than Nixon's censorship of GI JOE or the Scooby Doo spoof I think this could've been a 4/5, easy. Pales in comparison to "Reincarnation", though.

A mixed bag. Loved the Scooby-Doo parody. Greatest gag: the non-opening hallway doors! Never saw Strawberry Shortcake (here in the Netherlands), so ... well, I youtubed a 1980 episode to get up to speed. Saw the baddy with the mustache, like the Professor. GI.Joe shouldn't've been uncensored, maybe at some time during writing it was, but lacked so they made a plot twist.

Fortunately the Bendee-Boo segment was the longest, so 4/5 for that.

The first 5 out of 5 for me this season. As a child of the 80's it was hilarious to see these three mini-episodes. The scooby doo episode was silly which was to be expected. The second act was hilarious on its making fun of advertising tie ins with childrens cartoons and GI Zapp was hilarious! A fantastic way to make fun of children's cartoons and the politics surrounding them.

Worst episode ever! Three segments and they all sucked big time.

Like many others have said, the Scooby Doo parody could've been better. There was also a bit of potential in the GI Joe parody, but it was ruined by the poor execution of the censorship idea. However, the Purpleberry segment was pretty unfunny and felt like blatant filler.

Essentially a rehash of Reincarnation's idea, but with worse execution.

I loved the beginning where the mystery express had the little up and down movements like the mystery machine always does. "Daphne's" reference to "the repeating forest" cracked me up and then the interesting placed laugh track comment. Very clever!

This Futurama episode is exactly what would happen if Mike Scully was the showrunner. I felt like Patric M. Verrone and everyone else involved were trying to troll their fans and all it ended up were 1 decent at best parody, 1 unwatchable parody due to two thirds of it being occupied by kiddy commercials (not to mention the entire segment being an insult - and this is coming from someone who defended Yo Leela Leela at first), and 1 barely passable segment due to editing because Nixon...

But anyway, let us get to it.

The first segment probably the best one. Given how much Frank Welker was guest starring on Futurama, the possible consensus was the Futurama crew wanted to make a Scooby Doo parody to thank Frank Welker for his contributions. It got a few laughs out of me - the door joke, Fry & Bendee Boo running from the ghost, Zoidberg not being the culprit and the character designs as well as the visuals were enjoyable enough. Being real, this probably had more potential if it was stretched into a full parody episode rather than just lasting for 10 minutes. But for now, I am giving Bendee Boo & The Mystery Crew a 5/10.

Now we get to the final nail in the coffin for Futurama. Purpleberry Pond is meant to be a parody of the animated children (mostly girls) TV series - Strawberry Shortcake (which I never watched). Except the problem is not only its kiddy nature which is very unusual for Futurama, but every minute gets cut to a pointless commercial. All of them combined take about two thirds of the segment, and the final revelation was beyond stupid. Who even thought this segment was a good idea?! Where did this come from?! It's more suited to 2-year-olds and not people in their late teen years! And this is where I immediately became mad. Mad because all the sci-fi aspects and the confidence is gone. Mad because I never thought Futurama could offend their audience this much. Sorry, but Purpleberry Pond gets a 1/10.

Now for G.I. Zapp... whose potential got derailed due to Nixon's editing as the concept looked interesting and almost looked like it would've been a good successor to Action Delivery Force 3000 from Reincarnation. But alas, what we instead get is Nixon editing the segment completely and ruining it because "TOO VIOLENT! TOO BRUTAL! EXPLOSIONS! DEATHS! BLOOD!". So? Rather let it run and ignore it. If people don't want to watch, they can just turn the TV off. What is even the point of all those criticisms outside the White House? For as much as I wanted to give it a good score, at least because of its concept I can only give it a 4/10. Sorry, Nixon.

If you remember Reincarnation from 2 years ago, that episode was at least maturely handled because it had themes of love and not giving up, despair and we had an exciting anime-based segment to reward the fans for making it that far into the Futurama universe. This episode is the exact opposite. It chucks all the good elements, throws it in the recycle bin, and instead decides to give everyone the biggest slap in the face. Hell, it even makes the bad Futurama Holiday Spectacular look like a masterpiece in comparison. This episode is an abomination and easily what would happen if Mike Scully (for those who remember, he was the showrunner for Seasons 9 through 12 of The Simpsons) would be a showrunner for a Futurama episode. Run far away, and never look back.

3/10
