I was finally able to read this comic and it was great. I liked the Bender "X-Ray Glasses" bit and the way the Sea Monkeys got big. Zoidberg's "hunger strike" was funny too. Overall, a cool way to get the Futurama Comics started.

It was great - the humour didn't stoop to any lows in comparison to the TV show, and I loved Zoidberg's comments. (Funny how the most pathetic characters are always my favourite :D) I found the price a little hefty for what you got ($5.50 AUD) but when you live and breathe Futurama like me, you really don't care. Excellent first edition!

I LOVED IT!
IT WAS LIKE THE COOLEST COMIC EVER
BUT THE PRICE WAS A bit HIGH $5.00 AUD.

EVEN THOUGH THE SIMPSONS T.V SHOW IS BETTER THAN THE FUTURAMA SHOW,

THE FUTURAMA COMICS ARE BETTER THAN THE SIMPSONS ONES.

Bloody brilliant artwork!!
This was the first thing i noticed when i pick up the comic with my shaking hands. WOW! James Lloyd and the Colorbot 3000 team did a fantastic job!
unfortunatly the artwork was let down by the story...
Sure it wasnt that bad (it reminded me of the first Simpsons comic when Homer grew enormous)but i was let down by a sometimes stupid script. OK it was great in alot of places but Eric Rogers could have done better with some of the characters especially Bender. Whats with him screaming "Oh Lordy!" while falling out the sky? Im sure you can write crap in a comic. geez.
Also why would a 1979 comic(the "Space Boy" one from the time capsule)have an ad for "Shifty's Emporium"? A shop about 1020 years in the future and the comic ad have the address in New New York! Now that just doesnt make any sense.
Oh well, I think the brilliant artwock and moderate story make this an average comic so it gets 3.5(rounded up)
Hopefully Futurama comics will get better because down here in Australia we have to fork over $5.95 a comic and we dont want crap!

Great story, really funny, great artwork. I'm not sure about the US version but in the UK version theres a really good brain slug removal advertisement which had me chuckling. I like the way the story was layed out as well. If you havent already i recomend getting this one.

This has to be my favourite issue.
I loved the sea monkey idea! And you can even see bart simpson's head in the 20th century shop!!!
I also liked the idiotic antics of Dr. Zoidberg. My favourite characters are fry and bender!

This is probably the best comic out of the nine available (because I'm from England) and to be honest I don't think Futurama comics are up to the standard they could be. Don't get me wrong, I love Futurama and the comics but can't you think of some better stories. I hope issue 10 will be good because I love x-men aswell.

This comic was really good. The story was great and so was the art work. I really liked the part with zoidberg doing that thing, i won't tell you. you'll have to read it.I didn't get the sea monkey part, were those shrimp or monkeys? And here's a question for ya: What the hell is wrong with zoidberg? He thinks everyone is his friend when everyone really hates him. You'll see what i mean if you read the comic.

I love this issue! James Lloyd does better with Futurama then he ever did with the Simpsons and the script is really good as well...liked how Fry made a Homer head out of the playdough, and then put it next to the container so it looked like Homer was saying 'D'oh!'...classic stuff

You're all BLOODY IDIOTS! There are not only 20 issues up to 'Bender Breaks Out' - there are 30! For instance, this website says 'The Time Bender Trilogy Part Three' is Issue #19 - but I know that it is actually a 6-part trilogy! 'The Time Bender Trilogy Part 3a' is Issue #28 and 'The Time Bender Trilogy Part 3b' is Issue #29! I know - those were the first two issues I ever got!

I thought the first issue was going to start with how the first episode of Futurama was like, with scenes of Fry getting frozen, and him coming to the year 3000. I was disappointed about that, but when I read the whole comic, disappointed I was no more! Great comic!!
