Today it is 1-14-06 and it is nowhere in FOX schedule that Futurama is returning.

I am not sure how long it will take for new futurama episodes to be made for us to see.

As a futurama fan I can not wait until new futurama comes back to tv.

If new futurama episodes do come back it should replace the show THE War AT Home which is Sundays at 8:30/7:30pm central

The War AT Home should be cancelled or moved to a different day.

Malcome in the Middle for long time took futurama spot at 8:30/7:30pm central after awhile Malcome in the Middle has not been on Sundays at 8:30/7:30pm central on FOX. Eventually FOX did move futurama back to Sunday but I do not think that it was at the 8:30/7:30pm time slot any more.

This is a good sign that Futurama is coming back. Looks like production is happening sooner than we think. I don't care how long I have to wait, just as long as it's coming back. When Futurama comes back, it could be on Sunday Nights in between Family Guy and American Dad.

I am not sure if futurama is coming back or if it is actually in production or not but I can tell you that is good news that futurama may be coming back and that its return is no longer doubtful.

Anyways if futurama does come back it should on Sundays on FOX at 8:30/7:30pm central.

Right now THE WAR AT HOME has time slot.
They can either move THE WAR AT HOME to a different day or cancelled that will be up to FOX of course.

I know that there is going to be some more timeslots for Futurama open. Well, King of the Hill is finally biting the dust after about 10 long and boring seasons. The War at Home is probably going to be cancelled like all the reality shows and dead-at-first-sight sitcoms before it. Besides King of the Hill, the Simpsons will also be off the air since this season is its last season. A good show that went spoiled about 7 seasons ago is now going off-air after a long run. Yet, there will still be the movie. Right now there is also Animation Encores for a half hour, too. I just don't understand why Fox won't even air one episode of Futurama during that block? They should start now! So that leaves Fox two full hours of nothing which will probably be taken over with NFL overtimes and junk reality shows. But, I still have hope for Futurama's return.

Trojan - Of course Futurama's not on Fox's schedule, animated shows take months to make. Even if the show was picked up for a new season today, we probably wouldn't see it until late 2006/early 2007.

I think i read somewhere that the simpsons would end in its 20th season, making it the longest running animated show ever. I wish i could remember where i read that.....

Aha, let's hope tomorrow might soon be there then. Fox will slightly rise in my esteem when there are gonna be new episodes, because I do like most Family Guy and American Dad episodes too. But my heart will always choose Futurama first of course.

Yeah just backing up the aussie who posted this news. I'm from aus too and confirm that Futurama is a million times more popular now than it has ever been. It gets regular airing on highest rating channel for the 18-35 yo age bracket.

i just hope fox doesnt rape futurama like it did family guy, changing it so that its appealing to the mass audience. hopefully itll be left alone so itll keep its amazing singularity. futurama is seriously the best show ever made. so i dont want to be sitting down talking to someone and have to hear 'hey have you heard of that show...ummm...futurama? its like the best show ever.' but if its the same old show then the sooner the better.

I couldn't agree with you more, "#15 Sal". That's ONE of the main problems with the new Family Guy. Hopefully, Futurama only grows when and if it comes back.

I'm yet another Futurama fan from Australia, and its amazing how popular the show now is here.
It is litterally hundreds of times more popular than when it was first aired.
I'd also like to say that Futurama is actually now on 3 times a week here (mon,wed,fri)!!!

Actually Rob, it's only on twice a week - Mondays and Wednesdays. Veronica Mars now occupies the Friday slot (they switched it with the Monday slot since Futurama's ratings were singificantly higher on Wednesdays than they were on Fridays, which is generally a low-rating night).

HomersBrain - 2007 may not be the year! (I mean IMDB is so very unreliable.) That may be about the possibility of "The Futurama Movie" wich nothing really has ever been set-in-stone, but some stars of the show have spoke on it.

Sal - I also agree, of course Family Guy is funny, but it has become tiring of some repeated jokes, but Futurama won't turn out live the funny/annoying new seasons of Family Guy.

HomersBrain - that Futurama Movie thing at imdb.com is fake. I believe one of the members here submitted it in with NO evidence to back it up, just to make a point about how easy it is to get false information up on that site.

Fingers crossed on the show coming back. I think Family Guy has been amazing since it came back. Next to Arrested Development it's been the funniest show on tv.

stupid 7, they screwed it during first run, now channel 10 takes care of it and smashes the competition. Now if only someone gets Stargate away from 7.

Channel 10 deserves a lot of credit. I can't believe that back in the day, 7 was stupid enough to air Futurama in direct competition against the new episodes of the Simpsons. It's little wonder there was no initial fan basis! It's also quite amusing how the Australian TV critics are giving it raving reviews now, but didn't seem to notice it at all five years ago. Things are on the up for our favourite show.

critics are silly. Ten is great putting it on. and they're putting plenty of it on, with monday night having a special two hours of futurama / simpsons, 2 episodes each. very good. and then again last night.

Futurama is currently being shown THREE times a week in perth, west australia during prime-time.

I read last week in the Sanity movie magazinge that new futurama episodes will begin production this year. And this is due to the record DVD sales, and also the fact that Family Guy was so popular after its DVD release, a 4th season was created (which is currently being aired on commercial tv after American Dad)

It's still a litle hard to believe, I, I, mean it was cancelled once and retuned to TV, and decided to continue it again, what if they continue it (posible) and just cancell it again like last time. I'm still not sure if this is going to be true, 50% chance I think

For the non-Australian viewers, in Australia the three biggest tv networks are channels 10, 9 and 7. Channel 7 initially bought the rights to futurama, and showed some episodes in primetime(they ran against the simpsons, which is on channel 10 and got slaughtered in the ratings), before showing the entire seasons 1,2 in a late-night timeslot. For four or five years the show was exclusive to FOX8 (a smaller cable network) which showed, and still shows, an episode every weeknight at 6:30. However recently it was back on free to air tv, when channel 10 bought the rights, it has been a huge hit (running alongside the simpsons), with two episodes every week minimum (they also had a simpsons/futurama marathon, which had three futuramas back-to-back)

A SIMPSONS/ FUTURAMA MARATHON. Why dont we have one of those in america. Alot of people would watch it. That is what adultswim should do just have a huge marathon of a bunch of futurama episodes. Then get more people addicted so that they will want to buy the DVDs then the rateings would go up and DVD sales would go up and then Fox would be begging to bring futurama back. that would be sweet! Then the show could come back and my little life would be complete. I have a whole list of excellent episode ideas that they could use when they cant think of any thing. I would typ it in here but it would be super long and making long stuff gets boreing to read seriously. Some times I get carried wiht the lengeth of the things some times. especially when I get upset about some of the comments soem people put on these things. will any one read this probably not since it is kind of old> I mean it was put out in january and it is march the last person who posted on this site did it on the 7 th of march do I know if any one goes back to old news to see if people post crap for the hell of it I dont know becasue I am the only one of friends who is a super futurama fan. I meant i own all 4 volumes and if the show does come back then I better start saveing up for a 5 or maybe even 6th volume. YOu know how that would be
