An article on The Futon Critic has a longer interview with Peter Liguori, who took over the position of president of the broadcasting arm at FOX (FBC) from Gail Berman in 2005. While at the TCA Winter Press Tour, he talked some about the prospects of Futurama coming back to life at his division:
In terms of "Futurama" -- there's no doubt that the "Family Guy" model worked outstandingly. It's great to be a network exec and have a decision made for you by an audience. In terms of "Futurama," there haven't really been any active negotiations at this point. But I'd be an ostrich to just stick my head in the dirt and not realize what's going on with "Futurama" as well.
Not a yes, and not a no for Futurama on TV, but at least he remembers the show with some positive feelings.

Just having the question asked to him and answered by him is a great boost to the Futurama revival cause. It shows that there is mainstream interest in bringing back the show.

Although a better answer would have been:

Futurama is always gonna be in the shadow of The Simpsons. Having said that, the show is great and when I saw that there could be more made. I was so excited. Bender is a hero...... Don't let us down FOX!!!!!!!!

Kif White just posted an interesting quote from Billy West's forums in PEEL concerning the movies. It seems to contradict what Liguori told us (unless he was referring to new seasons as opposed to a movie), and now I'm feeling very confused.

BW has just confirmed that David X just called him to confirm that quote "this Futurama project
is a done deal! Here's the word from DX---
There are 4 DVD movies that we'll start recording at the end of July or
August.Full feature length FUTURAMA movies."

he also saide he is very excited, as is everyone, to be back!

I was reading NUTS a magazine in the uk and it had something written about futurama coming back, there was no shadow of doubt in the article at all, it was simply the show will be back soon.

Futurama is deeply missed. I watch on Adult Swimm and own all the DVD's. Please Bring it back it is better than the Simpons.

You never know what you have until it's gone. If The Simpson's is Groening's take on the power of family, then Futurama is the creator's take on the power and worth of having friends. And to boot, the show is absolutely funny. Please bring back this series - it's greatly missed.
