Alex Vo was able to attend the Futurama panel at Comic-con and wrote about it on rottentomatoes.com:
Then they ran the clip, a five-minute collection of random footage from the first DVD movie, out on DVD November 27th (and the first of four to be released throughout 2008): Bender's Big Score!
There is a bit of information about the story of the first movies, so if you do not want to know anything about it, skipt ahead to page 2, where you'll find an exlcusive interview with Rich Moore who was a Futurama director throughout the original run and did some supervising for the upcomming movies:
RT: Will you be trying to capturing new fans with the Futurama movies?

RM: I think the idea is to capture new fans. The first one is a great science fiction story. It's got the Fry and Leela relationship. It's got lots of action. It's got lots of great Bender and Zoidberg moments. All the old regulars who have appeared have their own scenes. But it's very accessible to people who haven't watched a whole lot.

Hey, I wrote the linked article. The episodes will air on Comedy Central, not Cartoon Network. Sorry about that.

"Shut up Zoidberg! The fembot bending competion is about to start!" -Bender to an already silent Zoidberg (Ep. 67)

I love the comedy that ensues between those two. It was one of the things I found I had in common with most Futurama fans I've met...a yearning for Zoidberg/Bender gags.

John Dimaggio's Bender and Billy West's Professor Farnsworth will be very interesting to see and hear. As many are aware of the voice changes of those two characters from the first episodes to the last one. The commentary tracks with them playing their characters is some of the funniest improvising this side of "Dog-doo seven".

Hedonism Bot is also a character I hope to see more of. The creators and writers barely contained their laughter in the commentaries with him on screen. I myself have mastered his laugh to iritate my wife who hates him. "I apologize for nothing." -Hedonism Bot (Ep. 62)

How can people not like this show?!?

The article mentions that there will no longer be a live orchestra. This is a bummer, but does anyone know if Chris Tyng is still on board for the music?

Cool...glad to hear that there won't be much change from the series to the first movie, and that the characters will stay true to themselves!

On a side-note, has anyone seen the 5-minute promo, yet?

Is there anywhere online where we unfortunate fans on the East Coast can view the clip without a lot of laughing or a Blair Witch camera angle? The link above has been removed.

In my opinion it's pretty much the greatest thing that has ever been on TV.

To answer #4, yeah, Christopher Tyng is still doing the music.

to avoid "jinxing" the other way round, for some reason i have a strong inclining that we'll be seeing MUCH more futurama, even after these new episodes are released.

this 2nd chance seems too perfect for it not to be the start of another, long-lived classic animated tv series.

so excited!
