Tidbits on the Futurama Movie

Some new small things regarding the Futurama Movie "Bender's Big Score":
  • Unlike amazon and Foxstore list it, Bender is going to be on wide screen. Expect the two sites to correct their data soon.

  • The packaging is planned to have a "fancy lenticular front cover" that looks different when viewed from an angle. It's not 100% sure to happen but likely.

  • Another character voice was revealed to us: Chanukah Zombie is voiced by Mark 'Luke' Hamill!

  • We do not know the international release dates yet but will relay them to you as soon as we get word on them.

Don't forget: Preordering makes Bender happy!

Any news about a region 2/UK release? Is it planned? (The original season DVD releases came out in region 2 way before region 1).

Preordering from websites sucks, you always get it late.

Great news.
This mentioned new voice in futurama means that the movie is going to be high quality. At least as good as the series was in the past.

Yours Sincerely.

Need Uk Release NOW.... Can

^ Seriously.

Everyone who preordered is going to have to wait at least 2-3 days until after the movie is released to get it in the mail, while everyone else is going to have it day one. 8-)

No Region 4 date yet? :(

"Everyone who preordered is going to have to wait at least 2-3 days until after the movie is released to get it in the mail"

Not to kill anyone's enthusiasm for preordering it via Amazon, but when I went to make my order, it told me I wouldn't get the movie until Dec. 9th or so at the earliest (that was if I chose their free shipping deal, though; the wait seems to shorten depending on which shipping option you choose). :( I think I'm going to just pick it up at a local store.

That's their standard sentence whenever you order something that's not out yet and pick free shipping. In reality it's rarely the case (maybe if you live on Hawaii). Sometimes amazon gets discs early and ships them the day before.

The part about "preordering makes Bender happy" has a bit of untold truth to it: Amazon preordering numbers are somewhat of an internal popularity measure for some companies. I'm not sure if FOX monitors them (the "sales" rank), but I know that the numbers for the Futurama game were closely watched back then. If there are any Futurama decisions to be made within the next three month, a good preordering record will definitely not hurt negotiations.

Unfortunately, whenever I've pre-ordered from Amazon I have received the item 3 or 4 days afters its release. But, in this instance I will pre-order and also buy an extra copy when it's released. Futurama iss great!!!
Officer1BDIAug 26th 2007, 19:41
^ Heh, that's what I should do: preorder an extra copy for my friend AND buy it from a brick and mortar store.

I didn't think the preorder records would be scrutinized like that. That's something to keep in mind....

Anyone in the Uk with a region free player can get it now from Playusa for

My experience with Amazon pre-ordering has been that they ship out early so that it's actually received by the official release date. Of course, it's been a while since I've done that and it might have been back in the day before they dumbed down "free" shipping.
