Now that we have 1 HD format, I wish they would announce Blu-Ray versions of these as well. I still haven't purchased the first movie as I am holding out for an HD release.

i think it depends where u stand on the futurama fan list. Honestly, i like it for the characters and their point of view better than the nerdy sci-fi scenes. i mean, every1 loves a good laser battle but some more than others...

Yay! I just hate how they pushed the date back. It was supposed to come out this month I thought! Which means all 4 might not come out this year. :( but at least it has an official date! Yay for more Futurama!

The first season of Futurama has just been added to iTunes. The price is $15.99 for the season or $1.99 per episode. Thought I'd spread the word.

It's not the full season, FYI.

It's the first broadcast season(9 episodes). That's how iTunes releases them. They do the same thing for other shows. But you're right, it's not the real first season.

Well as stated in the news, the 2nd Futurama movie "The Beast with a Billion Backs" will be released at June 24, 2008.

I have hope that this will be better for those who didn't like BBS much. I thought BBS had too much recycled and flashback material, which is understandable after being out of production for so long. Now that they got that out of the way hopefully they will move on to unique material that stands on it's own.

I love FUTURAMA. I own all of the DVD's. But, honestly, Bender's Big Score gives me a headache. I literally had to watch it in spurts because it had such an annoying storyline. And guys, really, the jokes just weren't there after the first twenty minutes. Lets hope movie 2 is a step up.

Yay! I was waiting for this one to come in right after Bender's Big Score. Hopefully this'll be an awesome movie just as BBS was.

I enjoyed BBS, though it was a bit hard to follow with all the time paradoxes. I think that is what turned off most people. The paradoxes were hard to follow (and ultimately didn't make sense anyway).

Everybody Loves Hypnotoad was great!

The problem is, 30 minute cartoons don't usually translate well to 90 minute movies. The Simpsons Movie is a classic example. It was okay, but it was half the jokes in twice the time. Instead of being hit with joke after joke, movies take the time to develop story and character. BBS did a LOT with Leela and Lars, which was really good but got dry from a humour point at times.

I do admit that the two songs were sucky.

Overlal, though, I liked BBS. I don't doubt that BBB will be better with more experience under their belt.

Yay, cany wait till movie two comes out, but i just hope i can afford it.. i got BBS through ebay because i couldnt wait for it to come to aus, i may do the same for this one. I loved BBS but it wasnt as good as the other eps, especially the songs, they were terrible, but still funny.
Anyway i hope they keep making futurama as long as possible, even if they keep making them till when it is truelly year 3000!! Horay for FUTURAMA!!

For those who keep saying there was too much recycled material and flashbacks in BBS, that's because the movie was based around traveling backwards in time and when you travel back in time, you see things that have already happened!

Maybe thats why the staff at futurama were hesitant to do time-travelling material so much.

I have to agree with some of my fellow commenters. Comedy Central is doing a very shoddy job of displaying Futurama. (Too many commercials. Cutting Off the end of episodes. Scrunching the credits down at the bottom of the screen) I'm sorry to say it but, I'm more apt to watch my Futurama DVD's than actually wait till 9PM and be disappointed by their poor treatment.
Can't wait for Billion Backs. Hopefully if we all buy the DVDs then they might bring it back to FOX. A long-shot I know but you gotta have dreams.

I was lucky enough to be in the US when BBS came out, picked it up in Best Buy for whatever they were charging (didn't look at the price, I was too excited!!). Since then I have shared it with many other aussies.

Also Jun 24 is my birthday. What an awesome present, thanks Futurama!!!!

We only just got BBS here in England, literally about a week ago. I got a sheet of paper (advert thing) inside saying the dates for release were:
Bender's Big Score: April 08
The Beast with a Billion Backs: June 08
Bender's Game: Nov 08
The Wild Green Yonder: April 08
I'm not sure if the dates are new to people, but that is not what interests me, this would suggest the UK may actually get the DVD's released at the same time as the USA this time? Anyone know if this is true?
