Can't get enough Futurama

Old Futurama Cast is New Futurama Cast

After the scare from two weeks ago ('Futurama' cast in limbo), TheStar announces that the whole cast has signed up for the new Futurama seasons.
[T]he entire voice cast of Futurama has just signed a new contract with Fox after weeks of intense salary negotiations. [...] The compromise agreement, with the studio paying more and the actors accepting less, comes after the announcement of a 26-episode pick-up here by Comedy Central.
IGN chimes in with a word of warning, noting that The Star was announcing things prematurely but now confirms that the deal is finalized:
Update 2: And now we're completely in the clear! We just got this word from 20th Century Fox: "Just wanted you to know that we now have deals with the entire Futurama voice cast to return: John DiMaggio, Maurice LaMarche, Billy West, Tress MacNeille and Katey Sagal."
Let's hope that the upcoming year of waiting for new Futurama episodes turns out to be more boring than the last two weeks

If I could pre-order the DVD's I would - seriously.

Great news :)
I was really worried for a while there

As for the UK, Sky will probably get the rights, no idea about the rest of europe though

I'm beyond happy that this got worked out. It just wouldn't be the same without the original voice actors. I'm still kinda worried about the " budget cuts" that the show will possibly take on but maybe thats just a rumor. Can't wait for the new season of the show.
AnnieAug 1st 2009, 20:05
Great news to wake up to! I was completely dreading the idea of the original voices being replaced. So happy!
avillAug 1st 2009, 20:07
awesome news! i'm glad they got the whole cast back...

however, it would be awesome if in the next "tales of interest" they'd ask the what if machine "what if we had diferent voices"...
MaxAug 1st 2009, 20:38
That would be a good idea lol!
Let's hope the writers are back too, because let's not forget the voice are one part of the equation, but the writers do a good part of it too!
JeremyFeinAug 2nd 2009, 03:40
First of all if there was a different cast, well no one would have watched. It would have been the lowest rated reunion and it would have been cancelled all over again. Second, why screw the voice actors after they came back with the DVD Movies and give it to a new cast that didn't deserve it. So as fransworth would say "GOOD NEWS EVERYONE".

Thank God everything was sorted out. I would not have watched it if there were different actors/actresses in the show. Please do not scare me again FOX!
FoxExexAug 2nd 2009, 10:05
Fuck bugger, I've been foiled again!
SpinelessCowardAug 2nd 2009, 20:30
The FOX people really know how to ruin good news - ( ordering new episodes and declaring not to rehire the original cast ). But now life is good again!!
BrianAug 2nd 2009, 22:52

LukeAug 3rd 2009, 06:57
I take it that also includes Phil LaMarr, Lauren Tom, and the all-important Frank Welker?
RyanAug 3rd 2009, 11:50
Nah, no Frank Welker, Nibbler will now be voiced by Gilbert Gottfried.
TomAug 3rd 2009, 16:57

That _is_ great news! The cast is there to stay! I'm glad a new cast wasn't picked. I knew this would all turn out for the best! Now all we have to do is wait a year for the new episodes!
DamitolAug 3rd 2009, 20:12
Marc -

Any word from your sources on Lauren Tom (Amy)? Her's is the only name missing in the IGN article listing the "entire Futurama voice cast". I'm guessing she'll be back since everyone else is signed, but it would be nice to see some confirmation.
FryishAug 4th 2009, 02:15
GOOD NEWS EVERYONE!!!!!!!!! :')
JimNightshadeAug 4th 2009, 09:09
Yay! I am glad cuz without the original voices it wouldnt be futurama--i still dont understand why fox cant afford them at their normal salary after all they made 4 dvd best selling hits besides their 4 seasons on dvd and i bought them all! As Nibbler might say were not doomed! Doomed!

Does this web site know anything about another Futurama movie that the article mentioned?

zaarAug 4th 2009, 09:41
OH THANK YOU SWEET ZOMBIE JESUS!
AphoticCosmosAug 4th 2009, 20:04
Just finished watching the entire run pretty much back-to-back, including the films. It makes me so happy to see the original cast returning, it simply wouldn't be the same without them.
antronAug 4th 2009, 23:07

in the italian version of futurama, the voice of amy is very sweet, *and i like this character more than leela. /but the voice of laurence tom it is better for her. sorry, we can listen it only in the songs. i hope fox include also laurence in the cast.
naibotAug 6th 2009, 04:23
Where's Phil Lamaar?
PosAug 6th 2009, 07:54
Wonderful news of course! My eyes are filled with tears of happiness at this moment. Futurama deserves the best of the best.

I'm so happy that the original voice cast for Futurama is coming back, and I can't wait to watch the new 26 episodes when they air in 2010!

Bender: "We're back, baby!"
BaronVonGodzillaAug 8th 2009, 10:36
What about Phil Lamarr (Hermes) ?

What about Lauren Tom (Amy) ?

What about Frank Welker (Nibbler) ?

It's a slap in the face to call those 5 (West, Sagal, DiMaggio, LaMarche, MacNeille) the cast, and forget the others who are also vital to the program.
italianoffutureAug 8th 2009, 13:57
Idem.

what about the three voices of amy, hermes and nibbler? (mordicchio in our version :P )
leefrancisAug 9th 2009, 12:16

VictorAug 10th 2009, 23:09
I just found this website with the news of more Futurama. Great news!

I have been a big Futurama fan. I just watch the series and movies again few days ago, and I was thinking: "Too bad there will be no more Futurama". Now with the latest news, I'm so excited!
DarkkaneXAug 11th 2009, 00:06
AphoticCosmos, I did just the same thing! It's so awesome to watch the entire Futurama up to this date, it's still as fresh as it was yesterday =D.

This is splendid news, it wouldn't be the same without the original voice actors. I'm quite sure that the rest of the staff, that weren't mentioned, are still included in the show. I mean, it would be weird to just hire a part of the voice acting group.
BobCatZoidbergAug 12th 2009, 06:13
ZOMG! I watch at least 7 episodes of this show a day and hearing more of it is simply the best news I have heard in months.
BikeboySep 17th 2009, 04:43
I'm a HUGE fan, but boy were those movies disappointing. Hope they get the magic back!
