Futurama Nominated for Another Annie

Firstly, some of you may remember me from back in the day on this site. Well I went away for a a long while but now I'm back and will be contributing news on the site and various other cool stuff on twitter(what? you're not following yet?!)

Secondly, and more importantly, Futurama has been nominated for it's 16th Annie Award for 'Into The Wild Green Yonder'(having won the last 2 years).

The winners will be announced Saturday, February 6, 2010 at UCLA's Royce Hall in Los Angeles, California. Congrats to everyone involved from CGEF!

Huzzahs are in order!

One has to wonder how Ponyo wasn't nominated for more awards... i mean kudos to Mr. Miyazaki for the Best Director nod, but a 100% hand-drawn feature film in this day-and-age should have been up for at least a couple art-related awards.

I was happy Astro Boy got nominated for 2 awards. It's the most overlooked gem since The Iron Giant, and deserves much more praise and love than it's gotten. I hope it wins.

Everyone walked out. They hated it. I've seen plagues that had better opening nights than this!
