Can't get enough Futurama
In Color

Brittany Murphy 1977-2009

I never imagined having to post a story like this on CGEF but earlier on today actress - and voice of Fry's girlfriend Colleen in The Beast With A Billion Backs - Brittany Murphy tragically passed away at her home in the Hollywood Hills.

She was just 32.

Of course as well as being part of the Futurama family she was more well known for roles in Sin City, Don't Say A Word & 8 Mile.
She also played one of my favourite characters from the fantastic King of the Hill - Luanne.

Our sympathies go out to her family.

Don't forget her unforgettable role in "Clueless". Once again, I'm in shock at another celebrity death this year. What is it with 2009? So many famous people's lives have ended this year; MJ, Les Paul, Ted Kennedy to name just a few.

I'm sorry to see Brittany die, I've always enjoyed her performances, too bad there won't be any more.

RIP Brittany and all others who have died this year.

I will always think of her as the dim but golden-hearted Luann of King of the Hill (my favorite TV cartoon sitcom other than Futurama). What a sweet, lovely character. It's been reported that she had flu like symptoms and was throwing up. That can mess up the electrolytes, which can lead to heart problems. The fix is simple: a good few glasses of Gatorade. But if you don't know that...

She was great as Colleen and she was great in other movies. She was very talented. RIP Brittany.

It's a shame. I really liked her in "Girl, Interrupted", but I also like her in the movie "Don't Say a Word." To be honest I used to always see her name on the credits in King of the Hill, but I never knew that she played Luanne. I assumed she played a regular, maybe Connie or Dale's wife for which I don't remeber her name for some reason.

But yes, it's sad to see such a young woman die, around the holidays too.

R.I.P.

She will be greatly missed by her fans. Her death is as shocking as the day we heard Phil Hartman was killed by his wife. Wonderful people gone much too soon. :( God bless you.

I was always attracted to the sound of Colleen's voice and knew it came from someone beautiful. So sad to hear she's gone.

Real shame a great actress and contributor to Futurama. Like losing a member of my own family.
