Can't get enough Futurama
In Color

Rebirth! And then some!

Ladies, gentlemen, and smizmars,

Futurama is about to be reborn today. After its long absence from TV (with four DVD movies in between), Comedy Central shows the first two new episodes of Futurama at 10pm (9c) tonight!

The old voices are back, Matt Groening and David X. Cohen are responsible for the production again, and the Professor is back at inventing dangerously spectacular devices in the episode aptly called "Rebirth".

Right after Rebirth, the Zapper makes his return in the second episode called "In-A-Gadda-Da-Leela". The preview picture on the right promises lots of innuendo as he meets his imagined seductress Leela, who doesn't look a yahren older!

Bored waiting for the episodes? Watch a 7-minute recap of Futurama to get back into it. (Or just read through your old Futurama notebooks. You took notes, right?)

(Please no spoiling the plot in the comments and no links / hints to links. The review forms will go live after the episodes aired on TV.)

Remot is not lying, the episode has been leaked online - although I'd prefer to watch it on TV, so I'm going to wait. Woooo! It's back!

Just saw the two new episodes. I hadn't seen the last couple movies, but I have watched every single episode of the original series at least 10 times each. I thought the two new episodes were great. Billy West's voices seemed to have changed slightly from the original series and the professor seems to be a lot more boisterous now, but other than that it seemed like pretty much the same show.

Can't wait for the next episode!

Big fan of all the original series, but I'm not feeling these episodes. I didn't really like the movies either though. Then again, David X. Cohen isn't my favorite of all the writers...

The episodes were great! I had a full episode/movie marathon for the past 5 days to lead up to the episodes and they didn't disappoint!

Outstanding. Lived up to the Futurama name.

Thank you Marc for keeping this website alive. It's been my first Futurama magazine like 10 years ago and now everything is back to normal. It feels great! :)

Seems like the whole structure of the show has changed- the comedy is much more watered down/low brow, and just relies on repetition of the same jokes, or recycling old jokes from the original series. It just doesn't seem as creative. Feels like they aren't using good satire, puns, irony and black humor like they used too.
The plots were always outlandish, but the new plots (movies and 2 episodes of the new season) just feel absurd. They dig themselves into a hole, and then get things back to normal with a flashback explanation. Or they rely on crazy plot twists to keep the series going.
The writers really need to go back and watch the original 4 seasons (particularly the first two) and get back to their roots.
I can't really explain it, but something about the movies and new season thus far is nowhere close to how amazing as the original series. I didn't find the movies very funny and I didn't laugh at all during the episodes last night.
Hopefully it gets better as the season goes along...

Does anybody know if Comedy Central plans to stream full episodes? I know they parted ways with hulu, but most of their other popular shows stream through their site. I was just wondering if anybody heard anything.

Both episodes were excellent. I hope we get many more seasons to come.

Why the heck is there NO news on when it is going to be aired in Canada? It says nothing about it on this website, or Comedy Central's, or anywhere? We wanna watch it to ya know! So when is it going to air in Canada and WHEN?!
DonJun 30th 2010, 17:03
I have had no luck finding any info on when the new shows will be on in Canada. I can't even access the Comedy Central website because it is redirected to the Comedy Network as per license agreement in Canada and the aren't even carrying the show. (note to Comedy Network and Parent CTV BITE MY SHINEY METAL ASS!!)
