Can't get enough Futurama

Holiday Spectacular this Sunday

After a longer break, Comedy Central will show an all new Futurama episode called "The Futurama Holiday Spectacular" this Sunday the 21st at 10pm/9c.

Being the 13th new episode of the year, this marks the end of the first half of the newly produced 26 episodes. The remaining ones are due to be shown next summer.

Anyone heard anything about when the new episodes will be screened in Australia - or when the Season 5 DVD will be released over here?

The Australian guy??? I suggest that you buy it from itunes. In that way you dont have to wait.

No luck there mate, iTunes Australia are not licensed to stock the new season yet. They must be waiting for it to be screened over here. Unfortunately, our scummy tv stations are too intersted in cheap talentless shows like biggest loser and masterchef. Oh well, looks like i'll be watching the dvd movies again.

Marty, hopefully not too long but I wouldn't hold my breath... I remember it took them at least 18 months before the 16 "movie" eps started appearing. Unfortunately our country still gets their kicks out of infinite reruns of The Simpsons and haven't made that intellectual jump yet. Thank god for the internet!

Australia won't be airing it until Channel 10 launch their new multichannel "11", on January 11 next year. At that point, I'd expect the new episodes to air shortly after. Channel 10 is moving all their imported cartoon programming to the new channel, including the Simpsons. I've already watched the new episodes through other means anyway. When they don't air it close to the original overseas airdate, viewers simply go elsewhere.

Adam: Almost certainly not. Teletoon has the rights for airing Futurama in Canada and they haven't aired any of the new episodes so far.

Interesting that no one has mentioned the dark matter in the punch bowl here: WTF kind of "season" is: one new episode a week for 12 weeks, a 10-week hiatus, a holiday special, a 6-f*cking-month hiatus, then 13 (presumably) weekly episodes?

I can't take that kind of thing. Are they trying to kill us?

Anyway, yeah, holiday episode, looks like fun. Woot, and whatnot.
