Who likes good news?

Sorry I've been late getting this news up but I did mention it on Twitter earlier.

Good news everybody!
And by everybody I mean UK viewers...
The sixth season is finally scheduled for broadcast there!
Sky1HD(or normal Sky1 if you don't have HD) will show a double bill this Friday 22nd at 8pm starting with 'Rebirth'. They will then show the remaining episodes from the 26 in this season weekly at 8(that's instead of splitting it into 2 seasons!)

So get your cup of tea and crumpets ready UK viewers, Futurama's back!

Great news, shame the website took so long to tell everyone, the adverts on Sky were my first indication which is annoying as I visit this site almost daily on my lunch break at work. I think this site is still geared to the void period of the last decade when Futurama was off the waves and all this new news is overwhelming them!

It's about time they got the new season over here. I'll have the tea and biscuits ready. Did you guys enjoy it while eating milk and cookies?

Fantastic News!!!! Only waited 13 months!!! Any idea why they are classing it as Season 7 on the synopsis?
reedJul 21st 2011, 00:41
Hey everyone,
Firstly sorry, for the slow news. The simple fact is that we all have lives to lead these days. I'm not so much of a nerdy teen with lots of free time on his hands! :)
I will say though that I tweet as much as is necessary(ie:whenever there's news or a link worth checking out). That's more frequent and might keep you more up-to-date as it's easy for me to do since I do it from my iPhone.
I think they're saying season 7 because there were 5 BROADCAST seasons plus the movies as season 6. Making this 7.
I would take a very educated guess that the DVDs will be out in time for Christmas...

Finally even if you've watched the show 'not so legally' I'd encourage you to watch it again so it gets great ratings(plus it's in HD!)

Take care y'all

LOL@#4 by PeterBakare "Did you guys enjoy it while eating milk and cookies?" Nice one Peter!

@reed - fair point reed, but cant you hook your Twitter feed up to this site?

I hate using twitter, I much prefer the good old days when people took the effort to author their own webpages (like this one!). Dont let this baby die for the fad of twitter!
reedJul 21st 2011, 15:08
Yeah, good one PeterBakare! ha. Although funnily enough I'm a brit so the tea and crumpets joke was kind of self mocking ;)

@Newkemall- As long as I have any say this site won't die! Don't worry.
We did look at hooking it up somehow but it was too difficult and also would mean any personal responses and messages I posted to other twitter users via our account would show up here. I try to update as much as possible here it's just sometimes some story may drop through for a couple of days.
I happen to like twitter and don't consider it a fad but totally understand people who don't. Maybe you could just bookmark - You don't have to register to look at someone's twitter feed.

Too late, my feelings are already hurt. Not so hurt that I won't buy the DVDs ofc
newkemallJul 25th 2011, 14:21
Thanks for getting back to me Reed, shame about the twitter feed thing, hopefully Twitter will adapt its feed settings so you can huck things up in the future. They may be an app that lets you link to both platforms (website ftp and twitter) and select which you prefer to upload to? If I hear of anything I will let you know.

Keep up the good work.

I guess this means there is at least a slim chance of the DVD/Bluray before the end of the year. More chance if they split the DVD the same way at the US broadcasts.

TheHodJul 28th 2011, 15:39
Since Sky is doing double episodes I expect they'll do both half's of Season 7 instead of splitting them. This is also probably why we've had to wait so long for them to start showing it.
I suspect we'll get a proper DVD/Blu-Ray release of the ENTIRE season (not 2 half sets like the US) about the same time as season 7.2 is released on DVD in the States
sibone123Jul 30th 2011, 05:58
will we get the volume 5 and 6 as one boset coz thatd be fab
DavidOakesAug 1st 2011, 15:17
Finally ! Might cancel my order for the US DVD import and wait for the UK release.
Samuel2484Aug 9th 2011, 15:28
Yes! I've been waiting so long for this day! And they're not splitting the season they're actually airing it in Production order! This means they'll finally be on UK DVD, yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!
CE49Sep 5th 2011, 21:28
Only one new episode last Friday (episode 13 - Holiday Spectacular) and no new episodes scheduled for next week. I wonder when we'll get the second half of this season.
StephenSep 7th 2011, 10:05
What happened to the other 13 episodes? :-(

Damn you Sky!!!
