Can't get enough Futurama
In Color

What to expect

Here is the line up for the next weeks:
  • Jan 20th: 'Bendless Love' (rerun)
  • Jan 27th: 'Parasites Lost' (rerun)
  • Feb 3rd: no Futurama, Super Bowl

The good thing: Europe gets the Season 1 DVD set with 13 episodes in the UK on January 28th for about £32 and in Germany on Feb 7th for about €36. They are region 2 discs, so make sure you have a region free DVD player or live within Europe. Amazon UK and DE ship world wide if you do have such a player.

The bad thing: I was told that Futurama wasn't renewed for season 5 yet. Last year they did that on January 5th. Let's hope.

The question every Futurama fan is thinking is why in gods name are they showing 2 repeat season 3 episodes in a row before showing a new season 4 episode?

answer: Because Fox wants to pad season 4 out so much they can get two years out of it and not have to pay to get season 5 renewed until this time next year, they better renew or I will feel like dieing and will be so depressed.

    Season 1: 9 episodes
    Season 2: 20 episodes
    Season 3: 15 episodes
    Season 4: Only God knows

This is the aired episodes. There is a difference between production seasons and airing seasons.

    The production season is:

    Season 1: 13 episodes
    Season 2: 19 episodes
    Season 3: 19 episodes (I think)
    Season 4: ?

Stupid FOX. Why do they keep sending reruns, when they have all thoose unaired season3 and season 4 episodes. Are they saving the new ones for a day where they can preempt them at the last minute!? Their collective braincell must be in for repair, idiots!!

Good news on the DVD, can't wait. Only 13 more days. :)

Lets hope the renewal will come soon.

For those who'd like more info on the DVD you can go to play.com and search region 2 titles for Futurama. They list the complete contents of the set, while Amazon only has a review.

As far as buying from Amazon.co.uk from America, I bought a DVD that way once before I moved to the UK, and unfortunately their shipping policies are a bit funky for international mail. If you go with normal Royal Mail delivery expect a looong wait for it, or you may choose the more expensive DHL route, I believe.

Not to troll, and trust me I'm a huuuuge fan of Futurama, I'm not so sure about a season five happening. I feel that Fox is itching to syndicate and watch the royalties roll in more than make another season.

Dumb Dude: Futurama is currently in it's 4th season. Although all aired new episodes are from the 3ACV batch.

Furthermore, "Aint No Such Thing As Too Much Amy Wong" has a very thorough review of the DVD set. Complete with contents, screengrabs and spoilers.
