So, no episode last week... let's look ahead:

  • Thursday 9:30pm Feb 28th: Rerun of 'Put Your Head on My Shoulders'
  • Sunday 7:00pm Mar 3rd: New episode 'Where the Buggalo Roam'. This one is about Kif trying to impress Amy's parents by hunting the thieves of the Wong buggalo herd.
  • Thursday 9:30pm Mar 7th: Rerun of 'My Problem with Popplers'. Great episode, but well .. I'd prefer a new episode in the Thursday timelsot ...
  • Sunday 7:00pm Mar 10th: The new epsiode 'A Pharaoh To Remember' is about the crew becoming slaves on an old Egyptish planet.

why would you prefer a new episode on the thursday time slot?? I think it's better to stretch the remaining new episodes across a longer period of time, hence giving the fat cats at fox more time to think things over of this great show. Plus, I don't think opening up a new time slot is good for ratings because not many people would remember to tune in. That's what happened with me and family guy. It took me months for me to actually remember to tape it, and it was one of my favorite shows(aside from futurama of course).

Well, they'd need to advertise it extensively to make it a successful time slot on thursdays, but the "stretching" is exactly which stopped FOX from ordering Season 5. So, now we got 2 timeslots, perfect to air off the backlog and keep the production going ...

what is the deal with this anyways; i think the first time we've seen futurama in a normal prime-time slot in what, 2 years? is a very good thing. but isn't that just shoot me's slot on nbc? kind of a tough act to beat.

Hey marc, at least we're getting episodes on Thursdays and it seems they're at least playing new episodes on Sunday... It may not be a WHOLE lot, but at least we're making headway to where we want to go!

Marc, wouldn't it be better for fox to move "Futurama" to the soon-to-be vacant "X-Files" slot? its on right after "malcolm" and could be paired up with "family guy" to save both shows.

Sure they could move it there, but they don't seem to be that willing...

I hope the thursday slot gets good rating, else it's unlikely they'll promote it a lot.

The X-Files slot is already reserved for "Firefly" next year, I'm afraid.

That is pretty exciting FOX is even showing re-runs on Thursday. Hopefully people will tune in and see episodes they have never seen before and continue to watch Futurama on Sunday and encourage other too also. I wonder why FOX did such a... well nice move for Futurama? Was it thanks to CGEF and its great campaign to get viewers active in "telling FOX off". The ratings for the sunday episode after the announcment for Futurama was incredibly strong (beating out KOTH). Hopefully all this news coverage (CGEF, IGN, Yahoo, etc) has reminded the public that Futurama is still around... well for now at least.
