Can't get enough Futurama
In Color

It's Huge!

FOX TV ranking last Sunday:
7:00PM: rank #3 at 4.8/ 8 Futurama
7:30PM: rank #3 at 5.9/ 9 King of the Hill
8:00PM: rank #1 at 9.4/14 The Simpsons
8:30PM: rank #1 at 9.3/13 Malcolm in the Middle

The Futurama rating was about average for the show with the biggest problem being the early time slot (as always) and the strong competition from CBS's side with "60 Minutes" at a whooping 12.5/19.

Future programming:
We'll see 'The Honking' (Season 3 repeat) at 9:30PM on Thursday. Sunday it's finally time for "Godfellas" which is followed with yet another Thursday repeat ('The Birdbot of Ice-catraz'). After that, no Futurama on Sunday 24th.

Cancellation:
It's been one month since we announced the production stop of Futurama now. FOX seems to ignore us. No response to anything here. I will see that I get the more than 86,000 signatures of the petition mailed in soon.

Well,

I just don't really like Futurama. I tried. Really, I did. But for whatever reason, it just didn't have the appeal that The Simpsons does.

While I'm not necessarily offended by the vulgar language, I do see it as being rather senseless and gratuitous, and it was probably a factor in the low ratings of the show.

Sorry guys, I just never developed a fondness for the show.

Vulgar language? Not to attack, but perhaps you don't listen to the Simpsons' dialogue as closely as you do Futurama's. I'm pretty sure Bart mastered the word ass before Bender.

Personally, I've watched the gradual and painful decline in the quality of The Simpsons over the years and its contrasted harshly against the continuingly great writing for Futurama. I see the future of Matt Groening on Fox in Futurama, a show which allows for years of discovery and play in comic magnitude. The Simpsons, god bless them, just don't have that oopmh or originality that catapulted them to the top. Their best shows are when they leave Springfield and their regular setting for make-believe or alternative settings, which is evidence of the writer's being bored with the usual show. You might say the humor is still there, just not the effort or motivation to bring it out.

Futurama, contrastingly, I can feel the writers laughing at the notion that they're payed to do their job.

But you're allowed your own opinions.
