Can't get enough Futurama
In Color

Mail Man

I got word from two people who got letters back from FOX. Their own. Unopened.
The envelopes said "Addressee No Longer Here". The fun part is, it wasn't USPS but FOX's own internal mailing service who couldn't locate their own president and chairman?!? Must be some really complex corporation flow chart they got there if they rather sent a letter back to denmark instead of forwarding it to the right room in case it was really misaddressed.
More likely: For the X-Files they do not accept written letters from unknown sources. Maybe we got the same nice fan treatment.

PS: Just in case the internal FOX service is reading this, you can find a picture of your boss here. Maybe next time you can even figure out where she works, too.

Yeah, they just seem to HATE us and all we stand for...namely, Futurama. So why did they run a show they never cared about or even seemed to like...mystery to me.

maybe you can write on the envelope: "all employers get higher wages, please give this to your boss!!!!"
if it still returns unopened...

hmm.. jokers don't know where their bosses are... perhaps they don't even work there?

though its irritating, at least they have some humor.. though not enough of it for futurama

This makes things even more frustrating, especially for those of us that live in SoCal near headquarters. It would be oh so theraputic to hand deliver another copy of my letter to Ms. Berman and knock some sense into her. Literally.

So close, yet so far away.

Well, it could help when they try to do another C&D letter. Say you've tried to contact Fox, but Fox are returning letters unread, and blame them for all the problems :)

Addendum: After doing some searching, it looks like the policy of not opening unknown mail (due to anthrax scares) may not apply here. Only the websites for all shows affiliated with Ten Thirteen Productions (X-Files, Dark Angel) announce that they are "no longer opening any paper mail received at their production office from unknown sources." So these 2 returned letters could just be yet another example of stereotypical FOX stupidity. UH-OH! <insert canned laughter here>

Unless YOU can figure out how "Futurama" can make money for the network again, the show is dead. Done. Kaput. It's about money. They put the show on in a deadly timeslot where they get drummed in the ratings every week. It always a lose-lose.
It's time for everyone to shut up about the show being cancelled and get on with life. Letters to Fox won't sway their decision. If letters did make it to the president's office, you don't think some poor assistant would be given the job of tossing every letter into the trash? The letters will do squat because THE SHOW'S FATE was decided long ago. Don't be emboldened by the fact that it worked for "Roswell" -- pretty faces sell ad times quicker than cartoony ones, and that's the sad, harsh truth. Quite simply, Fox doesn't make money with the show, so bye-bye.

Take solace that you'll get another season of new episodes next fall because they have 20-something in production as we speak and they're saving most of them. GET ON WITH YOUR LIFE. It's TV. Nothing more. The show will be syndicated soon. DVDs are coming out for the 1st and 2nd Seasons too. Wow, you'll be able to watch the show whenever you want -- how novel. You've got new shows next season. You've probably got a movie version sometime in the future. But nothing good can last forever. Stop writing letters and go back to doing something worth the time and effort.

Sincerely,
Nobody
