Can't get enough Futurama
In Color

Simon Says...

Simon Fazio says "save futurama!" and is the 100,000th to do so in our petition. Thanks to all people who added to this and promoted the effort.

With 100,000 people signing the petition (granted, minus some fakes which we'll even out soon enough) someone really should think about what that means. I seriously doubt that this site and the internet as a whole managed to reach out to more than 2% of the show's audience. Do the math FOX.

now that we've reached 100,000 we need to send that thing in as soon as possible.

So then we may imply that the show has over 5,000,000 viewers (mostly in the desirable demographic). Sounds about right in the US based on ratings, I have no clue internationally.

That 2%, 5,000,000 viewers, close to the U.S. ratings calculation's off somewhere, because a lot of the people who signed the petition (including myself) will be from outside the U.S. If Futurama has 10,000,000 viewers worldwide, then only 1% have signed.

The 2% was just a guess. You also have to remember that "knowing of a petition" and "signing a petition" are two things. The 2% is probably more true for the first one.

When former Economics majors get bored:

ok the actual average rating of all 8 episodes shown on Sundays in the US so far this season

4,391,437.5 households
7.1250 share

although raiting fluctuations are apparent after pre-emptions and the about the time the petition started
