Can't get enough Futurama
In Color

Foxy Answers 3

In case you wrote FOX again inquiring, you probably got something like this answer:

We will decide that in May of 2003 - just like any other show for the 03/04 Season.
Talk to you in a year.
Thanks for writing.

Boy, that guy answering askfox@ must be pissed... In a year, hu? I think not.
Lets see ... It takes about 6 to 9 months to produce a Futurama episode. That is, if there is a well trained team, which there is no more. So, make it 10. Now, 10 months from May 2003 that's ... March 2004. Not quite the season start of 2003 (September 2003). They need to hire them by November/December this year the latest, not in a year.
Go write the FOX!

10 months - why? They produced 72 episodes in three years. It their money anyway. I hate to see it cancelled, but be reasonable. :)

they work on 7 to 10 at a time. doesn't change that they need an offset of about 10 months now.

Well, it looks like it was the root of the problem - CS do them too fast. :) Fox wanted 15 episodes per season and CS did 24 per year. If they reduce the number of episodes they create simultaneosly, it will allow them to produce them faster.

Hm, I am actually protecting Fox! Sorry. :)

DID fox want 15 episodes per year?
LurkerMay 7th 2002, 00:00
I hope so but I don't know. :( It was a simple math - 72 episodes, 5 seasons and they say that the delay is because they don't want to stockpile the new episodes. The point is, CS can do episodes faster than 9 months.

On the other hand, Fox probably ordered 72 episodes in 3 years and now they want to slow down and check the ratings before the new investments.

Cheap speculations anyway. :)

You people are pathetic. Futurama or whatever its called is the worst show on televison. The Simpsons is one thing, Futurama is totally different. Crappy. You idiots actually spend your time on a show like that? And what the hell is a link to this page doing on the APstudent.com page?? Get it off.

Hey! Don't come to this site to trash on Futurama.
Don't listen to that guy friends he's obviously had a bad day.
I for one think Futurama is the best show on TV, fresh and funny as The Simpsons yet completely different. And well worth the hundreds of hours I've wasted watching the show, drawing the characters and browsing through Futurama website after Futurama website.
Futurama Rules!!!

well, i know that its not like me to protect fox, but give them some credit for a new season next year.

Sorry, i can't.

That "new" season is what drove the people in the production team out of job mostly. If it wasn't for their time slot mutilating, that hadn't happened.
