FOX talks about fairness

One of the many new FOX shows - 'Oliver Beene' - had its fall premiere be pushed back to January according to this article on zap2it. The reason given is that football would pre-empt it all the time. "It's not fair to the show" otherwise says a FOX spokesman.

The irony: 'Beene' is scheduled for Sundays 7:30pm so right after Futurama which got pre-empted throughout the last two years that way. Guess it actually is fair as long as its Futurama and not some show FOX likes.
No word spread yet if Futurama will also be pushed back to January.
Thanks to 'Fancy Pants' at PEEL for getting my attention on it.

I've said it before and I'll say it again; Fox SUCKS and they can lick various parts of my anatomy which for the time being shall remain nameless.

I say we start a new letter/email campaign asking fox why they think it's unfair to 'Beene' to be preempted and not Futurama!?!!
Who's with me?

Fox and fairness, that's a contradiction in terms, along the same lines as Military Intelligence.

The letter/e-mail campaign sounds like a great idea, though I am sceptical of its actual success. It seems to me FOX has already made up its mind on the matter and seems intent on 'pushing' the OLIVER BEENE concept.

It really does seem quite odd to me how a supposedly progressive network like FOX can cancel such advant garde comedies like FAMILY GUY and FUTURAMA and still continue to produce such a tired animated comedy as THE SIMPSONS (which I'm certain even the most die hard fan would admit has gone stale as of late.)

The all-important commercial dollar seems to be at stake here and its importance, rather than creative ingenuity, has obviously taken precedence. I don't think that either of the aforementioned shows had much of a wide appeal outside their very limited cult-like followings and thus they were the first to feel the wraith of decidedly bad "time slots" and then the axe of cancellation.

Maybe we can hope that some other network will pick up FUTURAMA. The Sci-fi network would be a great place for it to "live long and prosper" and so maybe we should direct those letters of ours towards them.

Just a thought.

I dont know what the hell OLIVER BEENE is, but I'm sure it SUCKS just like ANDY RICHTER and the many other new & stupid,same-ol,disposable crap...
I mean "shows", that (most of the time) cant even compete with "animated", but creative and original shows like FUTURAMA and FAMILY GUY.
For example, such failed shows like HARSH REALM or RYAN CAFIELD:YEAR ONE, that came out the same year (or later) as FUTURAMA and FAMILY GUY.
PS: I do agree with "Polterdog" that I too, would much rather see FUTURAMA live on with another network than get the shaft by FOX.
