I was at the event (along with a crowd of several hundred) and happily report that one of the first things Matt Groening said was,"Futurama's not dead." This brought cheers to the crowd, though he didn't elaborate much beyond noting that there was a full season we're going to be able to watch yet on Fox (some of which will be at 7:30, not 7PM), but he definitely left the impression that there are more shows to be made. And they are in fact still in production of sorts -- when answering a question from the audience about what lines might raise the hackles of the censors at Fox, David X. Cohen replied in a way that indicates those shows are still being prepared for air and he was still getting feedback from those Fox censors very recently. Evidently the shows aren't all sitting in a can somewhere, finished, which is what I had previously thought.

They showed an episode which will air next season in which Fry and Leela become superheroes (perfect for showing at the San Diego Comic-Con!) and alluded to an episode in which... SPOILERS AHEAD..

...Amy and Kif have a baby or babies.... and Kif is the one who goes into labor! Maurice Lamarche re-enacted the labor screams in Kif's voice.

.....SPOILERS ENDED

More in the next post......

David, did you take any pics? I'd be awesome if we could pull together an article for CGEF with your information.
