An article on Cinescape tells us that Mike Judge, the creator of King of the Hill and Beavis and Butthead, is working now to bring us the movie '3001': the story of a modern man transported to the year 3001. Sounds familiar ...

Well, office space was a great movie, so I'd imagine this one will rock too. Though it kind of goes along the lines of the word "rip off"

well, if its a serious movie, then im sure it will rock, but now, if its some other office space comic (which i liked too), i guess we will get tired of seeing futurama references in it (since futurama has already spoofed 99% of scifi movies)

3001: The final Odyssey, by Arthur C. Clarke is the fourth and last novel in the (brilliant) SF series that started with 2001: a space odyssey. The story revolves around Frank Poole, the shipmate of Dave Bowman who was killed by HAL and drifted off into space. In 3001 his body is revived by scientists and he has to solve the mystery of the black monoliths.

Yes it does.
The thing is more that Matt and Mike are like neighbours in the animation biz. Mike Judge should've realized that it seems a bit fishy to take the basic story of your next competitor.
Just imagine the NFL introducing bats for the players or something.

You guys are are just suspicious alouiciouses. Mike Judge is cool, and if Groening and Fox can't get their act together to make a big screen sci-fi spoof why can't someone else? I love Futurama AND Mike Judge. More is better.

if its a rip off of futurama, then thats shit, but i dont know i havnt seen it, no one has, so until it comes out we dont know. on that note rip offs are so not cool, just like all the remakes that we have to put up with
