Can't get enough Futurama
In Color

Animation Emmy goes to ... Futurama!

Eat our collective shiny metal shorts, Homer, Ginger, Cartman and Bobby Hill!

After nominations in 1999 and 2001 for the Outstanding Animated Program (For Programming Less Than One Hour), Futurama won the Emmy award in that category with the season 4 premiere episode "Roswell That Ends Well"!

Talking about the Simpsons, Groening once said:
"What happens generally if we win the Emmy for best animation show is that that gives us another couple of years [to run it into the ground]."
So let's hope that first part is true for Futurama, too. Together with the recent syndication on Cartoon Network, the Emmy can only help the show and maybe convince FOX to make a commitment here.

Congrats go to Groening, Cohen, Burns, Moore and all the other people involved.

The creative arts categories will have a two hour highlights telecast on E!, September 21 (8:00 p.m.)

This is great news! Good news, and Futurama in the same sentance is vrey rare, but lets hope this trend will continue.

Take that all who's never won an Emmy, and that includes you Amy!!

Fantastic! This is really welldeserved. Roswell is one of Futurama's finest episodes. I would go over to FOX and rub it in Sandy Grushow's face, but I'm already in my pajamas...

FOX, sit up and take notice. Someone in the industry actually thinks Futurama is a good show!

Eat it everyone who's never won a nobel prize.

But I find it a bit confusing that you refer to that episode as "Season 3 premiere episode". Wasn't it the opener for Season 4?

By the way: Futurama rules!

Does anyone know if a show has ever been cancelled the season after winning an emmy? Congrads to the Futurama crew on the win -- I'm glad to see at least someone in the biz understands your greatness just like all your fans have known since Season one.

Well as you mention, the qoute about winning Emmy was not mentioned with the winning itself so I afraid it's not saying much winning it.
I think Futurama's fate will not be changed and as you said before they have allready sacked the animation team so it will be allmost imposible to return this great show back to the assembly line.

I'm pretty sure "Sports Night" was cancelled the season after winning an Emmy.

Congrats also to "Family Guy" for getting an Emmy this year for "Outstanding Music And Lyrics".

I agree.

I hate when football runs long. It's even worse when the game ends ON TIME, but they show you the end of another game instead of the 'regularly schedualed program', Futurama.

Oh, and Congratulations Futurama guys.

The only thing worth watching since its 1st episode hit the rusty ole can.

Minty.
